We have been taking our dogs to Four Paws forever...since they were in their previous location. Our dogs have always loved going, come out looking absolutely perfect and smell wonderful. Our previous dog, Honey, had major surgery and couldn't be groomed for almost 5 month. When we called and spoke with Buffy she was so compassionate and took Honey in and groomed her with such care...as if she were her own. Honey looked beautiful and was so proud of herself! Now we have Molly and she absolutely loves everyone there. she always looks adorable when we pick her up. Yes, we do drop her off early and usually get a call to pick her up a few hours later but it takes time to correctly wash and groom a dog. As far as the cost...I think it's about average for a perfect grooming done exactly as we request. I would definitely recommend Four Paws to everyone...and I do. I dropped off my 2 dogs at the groomers at 9am and picked them up at about 2pm. (It always takes them 5 hours). When I went to pick them up, the woman started explaining that they cut my dog on the neck. She said that my dogs hair was a bit matted because I probably bathed him at home. She said that the wound looks worse than it is but he's fine. There was no apology and she even charged me for his groom. When they bring me my dog, I see the cut and it's an open wound, and it's quite large. This is not a small cut. This will take a few weeks to heal and constant monitoring so that he doesn't scratch or hurt himself. I am beyond words. I will never go back again. read more

I was upset when my son was told that she was knicked by Buffy but I was extremely upset when I saw what actually had happened. When I called I was told these things happen and it could be worse. Someone at the dog park recommended this place so I was hoping for the best. I don't know what it is about groomers but NONE of them listen. We beg them not to cut our goldendoodle like a poodle but somehow he always end up with a poof at the end of his tail, a poof on the top of his head, and a shaved nose. When we picked him, he looked ridiculous. When I said "he looks like a poodle" the woman responded "like brand new!" No, like a doofus. He's gotten better goldendoodle haircuts at Petco. But, after a week, his silly haircut stopped looking like an entirely different breed (do you like when people call your baby boy a baby girl and vice versa? Same thing with dog breeds) and started looking cute again. Still though, the lady who rang us out was very cold, didn't act like she liked dogs at all. Ours is a jumpy, happy, tail-wagging pooch that everybody typically loves and wants to take home with them. She seemed like a cat person. Anyway, the good news was that it was cheap ($65) compared to what we usually pay. I think we'll keep on looking for a new groomer though. read more

My father dropped off his dog around 11am to Four paws 1270 Mineral Spring Ave #7, North Providence, RI 02904. When he picked up his dog. Mario the owner of Four paws said they found a few fleas on the dog. Now I knew that is BS because my father lives with us, and all our dogs are inside dogs. 15 years of having dogs in our house and not once have we had a flea on our dogs or in our house! Everyone who knows us knows our dogs are taken VERY well cared for. Within hours of my father's dog home. He was bitting and scratching. Then our other dog was doing the same! We checked them out and both had fleas! Almost 8pm we rushed to pet store to find something to get rid of the fleas. We made it literally 1 min before pet store closed. They let us come in and told us take our time. I explained to the person what was going on. They helped us right away. We bought what we need and even bought the flea bombs to make sure we get every last one that could perpetually be in the house. The person at the pet store asked if we took our dog to Four paws on 1270 Mineral Spring Ave #7, North Providence, RI 02904. We said yup and we were very upset. They told us they have had several customers with the same issue from Four paws. They tell their customers they found a few fleas. Customers go home and with in hours to a day. Their house is full of fleas! I know that the pet store is telling the truth. They don't do dog grooming, and they didn't refer us somewhere. So they went trying to gain us as a customer for grooming. I urge people to not go to Four Paws grooming 1270 Mineral Spring Ave #7, North Providence, RI 02904. When you get home, you will get some unpleasant pest into your home from going there! read more

The Four Paws Grooming is very clean and classy with marbled columns and french-styled doors peeking into the grooming stations. Every time I walk in, I half expect a mixture of several dog stenches in the air but always enter detecting nothing but a clean fresh scent. It can seem a bit on the "uppity" side, but don't let that fool you. I usually get the male owner who always asks what I expect/want from him and handles my little shih-tzu in a very calm and firm manner, which I greatly appreciate. He always returns to us with every inch of him (from the eyes down to the bum) cleaned and groomed with no suspicious nicks or cuts in odd places. Like many pet-owners I have trust issues when I leave my dog in the hands of other person and want to make sure he is treated well. I typically always check to see if they man-handle the animals or shout at them-- and they never do. And they never use any drugs to sedate my dog, which is a big factor for me. I have had horrible encounters with several groomers before hand. But never in the 1-2 years of coming here. read more

We have a cockapoo whom was very matted! He was in rough shape. He also has a lot of energy. I have taken him to other groomers in the past whom did not like or love his energy. Ashes was done to perfection after describing the modified schnauzer cut that I needed for her due to a terrible problem with matting. She's cute as a button and safe from matting!! The owners were so nice and understanding in helping with what I should do my wire fox terrier. Since petsmart did a terrible job and mess up his wire coat. They told me that if I got him hand stripped it would be a long and expensive process. So we decided that it would be best to just clipped him and in the late summer see how he does with hand stripping. Bilbo looked amazing when I picked him up. He got many compliments from everyone and I highly recommend them. read more

My old girl Sugar is a slightly over weight blind lab/shep mix. She is 11 years old and only slightly spoiled. The ladies at Four Paws welcomed her in I told them how to get her to climb stairs so they wouldn't have to hoist her 80 lbs. When I returned I found her sooo happy and fluffy and totally enjoying the spa experience. She was like a puppy she was so energized. Have gone here in the past and had little issues. Today I brought my two dogs in and they said they had them down for a trim. Corrected that we wanted a full cut the woman was rude and said says trim here you won't know the difference. When we picked up dogs barely cut. Told woman we were unhappy she didn't seem to care. Knocked $15 off price (still $40) told her we would never come back. She didn't seem to care. Sad thing is she's one of the owners. I spend $1000 a year on grooming and I won't spend a dime here again. Sad. read more

I love the staff at Four Paws and I am always more than happy with my Schnauzers haircut. I have tried a few other local places and they have been less than impressive. I shouldn't have to tell a groomer how to do a proper breed cut or double check their work when I pick my dog up! I have never had to question the work that Four Paws does and they are great with giving me a same week appointment. There are quite a few other dog salons on the way to Four Paws but I don't even consider any other place anymore. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would had . been going to four paws for 3 years was never that happy with cut didn't listen to our request also our dogs never smelled that great and people are saying they are reasonable omg 100$ for a golden doodle go to other groomers who blow them away at half the price we would have to drop our dog off at 9am and they would be finishing her up when we arrived at 4-430 it seemed that they preferred to do small breeds we went to details dog grooming formally mutley crew you drop off your dog and they call you in 2 hours dog looked great smelled great and they did what was asked of them and they were pleasant for 50$ read more

Hands down worse grooming place I have ever took my two dogs. I dropped off my yorkie and and my shih tzu at 9 am and went to get them at 3pm... My poor babies was so thirsty their hair cuts came out awful. They have bald spots and uneven hair all over their entire body. Needless to say I will never go back there again. $110 bucks later I'm at home trying to fix what I can. No thank you! read more
