A RESPONSE TO LEAH F. FROM PUPS UNLIMITED
As an Employee of Pups Unlimited & considering that I was there when Sophie came in for grooming I would like to share what happened in my opinion instead of being made out to be some kind of awful place with no compassion. We are the complete opposite. Take into consideration what we had to deal with on our end. Sophie came to us on Wednesday April 4th, 2018 for a 1st grooming app with us. First impression she was sweet but timid she had a moment where she randomly started barking at nothing while still in her owners possession, which was strange but could have been nerves. Owner complained that she was constantly soiling her crate at home and she was CLEARLY stained with Urine all over her lower body and legs. Sophie came in had a bath in hypo shampoo was hand dried had her ears cleaned and nails trimmed. Sophie did excellent throughout the entire groom. We had a set pick up time for her that was a little over 2 hours after she came in. We let her hang out in the grooming room, contained but not crated so maybe she could calm her nerves some. (NO there was nothing she got into, the only things in the grooming room are grooming tables, the tub & the groomers & NO we don't offer fleadips at all, we don't use chemicals on the dogs, we use all natural flea&tick shampoo ONLY when needed.we do not work in an assembly line fashion, the same groomer washes dries does the nails and full grooming. She was never left unattended we always have more than one groomer on at all times) While she was waiting to be picked up she acted disoriented almost like she had low blood sugar we noticed this & decided the responsible thing to do would be call her owner & let her know what was going on. NEVER did she have a seizure or was limp and lifeless, she was always conscious and aware of her surrounding acknowledging all of us. We held her & reassured her she was okay until her owner arrived. In comes the owner Franticly & she immediately starts blaming asking a million questions in so many words putting the blame on us, we explained again exactly what had happened & that she was acting similar to a dog with low blood sugar or experiencing seizure like symptoms. Never did she thrash or soil herself she did not have any kind of seizure here with us. Before leaving the owner said she has never been sick a day in her life & has been groomed multiple times without issue. My question is if there was never an issue for grooming why was she coming to us as a NEW Grooming customer? Why wasn't she staying with her previous groomer? We don't know the owner nor the dog, does she have any pre-existing medical issues?or that her owner was unaware of? I don't know. But her constantly soiling her crate may have something to do with it.I'm not a vet just my opinion. We were polite & cooperative, she left franticly & the dog was absolutely not limp, in fact owner parked infront of the cameras outside & we watched Sophie jump around in the front seat when she was leaving. I gladly spoke to the owner & the Vet later that day & re-stated all that went on & the vet was nothing but polite.I cant say the same for the owner. We have not called said owner because I think we got blamed & shamed enough in person for something that was out of our control ¬hing anyone here caused. I wish you the best & hope you found the answers you were looking for to keep Sophie as healthy as possible. read more
