No, wait. Her yorkies are the center. No, hang on ... different kennel names, different websites. When I arrived, Denise wasn't available, so I dealt with her assistant. I was escorted into a large room and only allowed to see one puppy at a time. I was not allowed to see their living quarters, not allowed to watch them play together inside or out. and because doodles aren't AKC registered, the matted, dirty standard poodle and small golden retriever the assistant led in might or might not have been the parents of the puppy I chose. I was not allowed to take pictures of them. Yes, I took a pup. I had just lost my 15 year old standard poodle, and I fell in love with Sadie, regardless of all the red flags. And she has been an amazing dog. She's 5 now. When she turned 3, she went into kidney failure. 3 months and $10,000 later, she recovered. That included a week in the ICU, 3 trips to a specialist in Boston (5 hours from home), and weekly visits to our home vet. The medical concensus was congenital in origin. She'll be on benazepril, oemga 3s and a renal support diet for the rest of her life. Denise's assistant gave me nutritional supplements for puppy Sadie. The following month another cannister arrived in the mail and my credit card was charged $65. I returned it and stopped the shipments. I wonder what Denise's cut is? When I added a second goldendoodle, I chose Yankee Doodles and Poodles in PA. I sent them my deposit and was informed when the pups were born. I got weekly photos of each puppy. When they were 6 weeks, I flew to Pittsburgh to choose my pup. I got to watch all 9 pups outside, interacting with the breeder and me and with each other. The mother and father were included, and I got to take as many pictures as I wanted. I was shown their living area. I chose my pup, a beautiful little boy. Two weeks later I drove down to bring Billy home. I had additional reports and photos during those 2 weeks. Such a different experience. And Billy is completely healthy. TL;DR. Took us some research to realize the kind of operation she's running - a glorified puppy mill. Do not buy a puppy from here. We contacted this breeder and she said she had puppies available but wanted to meet us first. On the phone, she completely controlled the conversation and would not (or could not) tell us how high we would be on any kind of list. We drove 2 hours down to Sutton to "meet her," but met her assistant who brought out 2 puppies outside for us to see. She didn't ask us 1 question about us, our home, experience with dogs..... Tried to pay a deposit via PayPal, but her assistant said the owner wasn't answering. She printed a receipt for us for a $500 deposit and said the owner would call us later that day to send us the PayPal invoice. Owner doesn't call for a week, called her a bunch, no answer. After a week, she finally answers and says "Oh yes! Actually, don't worry about the deposit. The puppies are ready to go home so I'll just charge you for the whole thing. I'll call you in the next few days when the puppy is ready." Well, what do you know. No call. We keep calling. Voicemail is full. She just went dark. It's been weeks, still haven't heard from her. We felt like the whole thing was odd - so we started doing more intense research than we had done from the beginning. This place is WEIRD. She has the same exact website for all different kinds of dog (check out Castle & Cottage Cavaliers, and there are TONS others). She says she raises her dogs in her home - how are you raising literally dozens and dozens of dogs in your home? Saw a Google map of her house - there are TONS of weird structures in her backyard... They are definitely not "home-raised." There are tons of websites out there with complaints -- PLEASE do a quick google search. She weirdly ALWAYS has puppies, has no information when the puppies were born, has no information about the parents, she won't give out her address (just gives you directions).. If I could give Zero stars, I would. And I will say, I did everything wrong ! I wanted to get a puppy for my 3 y.o. niece, who lives in MA, a puppy for Christmas. I found American Goldendoodles online, and suggested that my sister and my niece go see the current puppies at American Goldendoodles since they had availability for Christmas. BIG, BIG mistake ! We purchased a puppy 1 year ago. He is a healthy (except for a few ear infections which vet says is from food allergy), sweet, gentle and loving little guy. He fit right into our family and loved us all unconditionally, he has stolen our hearts! We have a 3lb chihuahua/Maltese. They are the best pals and he is so gentle with her!! He is 55lbs at 1.2! I will say he was very expensive more than other sites, I was told 2000.00 on phone but he was actually 2600.00 plus tax so be prepared to pay more. He had stolen our hearts the minute we met him so we of course had to take him home , but there are good doodles out there for less. Before the pick-up date, she did not answer direct questions about the number of puppies she had available or basic info about the parents or when we could expect to meet or pick up our puppy. When we first went to visit to give our deposit everything seemed fine, Denise had a nice house, the people who worked for her were nice, and the puppies we got to see were just precious. My mom kept having to blow her up and it wasn't until she said to her that she knew she deposited the check until Denise answered. Well here's where things get super sketchy. Now for me - I just wanted a puppy who I could love and bring hone to my family. Where did labradoodles come from? I thought she bred golden doodles the "family" way? Never ever saw any parents of the puppies. As everyone else said this is 1000% a glorified puppy mill. Denise must be buying off breeders and reselling. We were told when we first went to see puppies they would be around 3500.... we left with a 4700 labradoodle. We picked up our baby this week and are in love! Denise breeds her dogs in her home, which is a stunningly beautiful country spot with tons of land. We were welcomed into her home and were able to safely meet the available puppies and their mother. Denise doesn't accept deposits or so waitlists. We started searching for a puppy, in October 2020. Many calls to many pet breeders and others yielded many months of waiting. A casual conversation with my colleague asking me to try out American GoldenDoodle led me to call Denise. Went to her home and there he was a bundle of joy. There are so many joyous emotions when you have a puppy in your arms and he is so curious to know our family. Denise and her team are top-notch preparing us to step by step in understanding the puppy, taking care, and the goodie back. Mind you we started the day we wouldn't get a puppy for the next few years and we ended up bringing him home. So the team gave all that we needed to make him comfortable. The puppy, extremely adorable, cute, and loveable golden doodle who is so loving equally to each member of our household. We set him up in his crate and playpen as Denise said. Before the day ended, we would have called Denise & her staff 10 plus times and all responses had been so prompt, very informative as if we now have an extended family. He slept well without disturbing anyone at night and the next day he was awake. We could keep him in his space and play with him once in a while. They had given us stuffed toys that he used that helped him to adjust so easily. Food, shampoo, diet details, deworming medicines...all so well managed. He's so well-behaved for a 10-week old puppy and so easy to give him a bath. The magic that Denise and the team do to have these bundles of joys to adjust so easily with our homes is phenomenal. I am only giving a two star review because the website pretty much is a lie. Denise does not care about her dogs after you pick them up. The reason I say this is because it took over a week for her to reach out to see how our/her dog was. This really surprised me due to the fact her website says how much she cares and how her dogs are her family beyond when they go home with you. I responded back to her first and only email explaining Ralphie has a double ear infection and I could not write a review at this time. I had to wait to see how things are going and would respond with a review within the month. A couple days later after the ear infection diagnosis, the vet called to say Ralphie had guardia, diagnosed by his stool sample. Ralphie is on multiple medications right off the bat and this very much disappoints me and insurance will not cover him now for ear infections because it is considered a predisposed condition. Our poor Ralphie. I expected to hear back from Denise when I told her he had a double ear infection and it has been three weeks with no response at all. Since her website says how caring she is, I thought I would at least get a message saying I am sorry to hear this. Nothing. Just very disappointed in the noncaring attitude and the fact he was sick right off the bat. Not only was Ralphie over the top expensive, but now I can add $700 in vet bills the first week. As the money doesn't bother me, it is still very disheartening considered Denise says her dogs are so well taken care of and home raised. I don't believe this at all. For being home raised, I am shocked our dog had a double ear infection and guardia. Now the positive side - Ralphie is a very loving dog and we are enjoying him very much and of course we will take great care of him. I had a negative experience here when I visited on 12/3/17 intending to purchase a puppy. See, they also have other dog breeds, which the website obscures. You'll find the same people run Castle and Cottage Cavaliers, Country Home Yorkies, and Country Home Shih Tzu (though when I asked they claimed they only do Cavaliers and Goldendoodles). I saw multiple Cavaliers and a Goldendoodle during my visit. The house smells badly of urine, and there were puppies of different ages. When I asked to meet the parents as promised, employees gave me contradictory information about which litter belonged to the only adult female and claimed all the other adults were at the vet on a Sunday. They refused to let us see where the puppies were kept, keeping us in a waiting room and only letting us see one or two at a time. They claimed the house was not on Google maps, but it is. The website and employees say the dogs have the run of the house, but there were no claw marks on the couches (except for one I watched a puppy make) or dog hair anywhere. The website also features an elderly couple and says the dogs are hand-raised in home, giving the impression that this is a family breeder when it is clearly a commercial breeder. I counted two employees besides the owner during my visit, and the elderly couple was nowhere to be found. The website says several times that they get to frolic outside, but one employee commented that a particular puppy had never been out. One of the puppies had a cough. Every dog I saw was dirty. The adult female had eye congestion dried on her face. These are just a few of the red flags and contradictory pieces of information that concerned me and caused me to leave. I also took issue with the health guarantee being so short, particularly because I was concerned about the conditions the dogs were living in. read more

In the meantime, I decided on a different dog, different breeder and put a deposit on a future puppy. (That's how it works with REAL breeders) Just google Golden Doodle breeders and look at their websites and compare to this one. On June 26th, out of the blue I received a call from Amanda (the assistant) and she said she had puppies that I could look at tomorrow and take one home. When I told her we weren't ready for a puppy and that I thought I'd have more than a day's notice. She told me that I could get(buy) everything from them. I was so surprised by this one day notice of a puppy for our family, I started doing some more research to make sure when I said no for the sketchy phone call, I made the right decision. After speaking with a number of breeders while doing my research, you do NOT get a call the day before a puppy can go home. Reputable breeders' websites and social media are full of pictures of parents, puppies, pregnancy announcements and puppy news. I made a decision early in my research that I didn't want a puppy mill dog. Do your research. Call a Vet practice in the area, they can tell you who is a breeder and who is a broker for puppy mills. read more

BUYER BEWARE - I do not recommend this breeder. I did a TON of research on ethical vs. non-ethnical breeders, and unfortunately they had a ton of red flags. I agree with the other reviews that they do not breed their own dogs, and instead buy from puppy mills. 1.) Dogs available - I found this odd because every other breeder required a wait list. When we went to visit, I asked one of the workers why they had dogs available they couldn't give me an answer. 2.) Other types of dogs - not only do they "breed" goldendoodles, but there were a few other dogs to (I believe king charles cavaliers), and good, ethical breeders only breed 1 type of dog. 3.) 1 year health guarantee when other breeders offered 2-year health guarantee. I asked if this was negotiable and was told no. I also asked for parents medical records and was told they didn't them. 4.) Price - also more expensive than other local breeders (higher price w/ red flags, didn't make me comfortable) 5.) I asked to see the mom (this is a VERY common request) and was told I couldn't - the pups should always be around their mom, why can't I see her? 6.) BIGGEST RED FLAG - I have a friend who is an animal rights activist who said do not buy from this breeder, they have a very reliable source who said they are getting the pups shipped in We ended up getting our dog from another breeder who checked all the boxes. We received the parents medical history (Hip Dysplasia, Addison's Disease, genetics, etc) along with the parents temperament scale and each puppies temperament scale. Health problems are a very expensive vet bill! You may have a great experience but typically dogs bought/shipped in are from puppy mills, so they are taken away from the moms at a young age, do not have access to the right nutrition which can lead to behavioral/health issues and w/ a 1 year health guarantee is not reassuring. Anyone else find that weird that she always has puppies ready to be taken home.... I have no reason to believe she's a legitimate breeder at this point. Denise and her staff and dogs obviously groomed Ziggy into a highly sociable, happy, fluff ball. Why only 4 stars, then? Well, AG is a business -- and while they love and care for their pups -- Denise is a salesperson, and strongly advocates for their methods of raising, feeding, and nurturing. I have followed many of her recommendations, but veered from them as well, based on opinions of my vet and others. There's a lot of "this is the way to do it" rather than this is our suggestion -- you should read books, talk to your vet, and figure out what works best for you and your pup. And then there's the cost, which is high. We have no regrets since the breed seems to have "guaranteed" a certain disposition (calm, cheerful) that would have been more of a crapshoot with a rescue dog. And to her credit, Denise is always available to answer questions after you get home. But, while the staff members we met when we visited and when we picked him up were very grounded in reality, Denise, who answers all the calls, always seemed to have a marketing hat on -- not that she misled us but I learned, after a while, that housebreaking, sleeping through the night without loneliness anxiety, feeding, etc. all required a "figure it out" approach. (For example, we do not "free feed" as AG recommends.) So, overall, Denise and AG have been a very positive experience and yes, I'm a fan, but I still think you should do your homework and be prepared to integrate Denise's how-to's together with other components of your doggy parenting education process. We love our golden doodle so much...but the process to get her from Denise is painful, confusing and unprofessional. Many of our phone calls to her went unreturned when we were trying to find out when we could expect to come out...she called us back one day out of the blue and basically said "If you want a puppy you have to come right now." Got there and brought us a puppy and said we could only hold her if we were going to buy her. I asked for the price (anytime I talked to her the pricing was purposefully confusing and very inconsistent.). The assistant said she would be right back to let me know the price... she didn't come back for 45 minutes and had a contract with her...never directly told me the price or got Denise. The price on the contract was significantly higher than she ever quoted me. At this point me and my boys were in love with the dog and did buy her. I emailed and phoned Denise multiple times once we got our dog home and she has never returned a call or email. This was all during the beginning of the pandemic and we totally feel we were price gouged knowing many people were looking for pets at the time. We will never buy or recommend her to anyone!! We got our dog from here a year and a half ago. And let me say he is an amazing dog and we love him more than anything. BUT not a chance she bred this dog. We always joke that he is our rescue dog from a scam artist. She buys those dogs for a third of the price from puppy mills in PA and resells them. One of our neighbors even caught her on it when they called and she said "I have a few coming in, I mean being born". It's shocking to me that she has not been shut down yet. It is a complete scam. And very upsetting that the website/ tag line is all about raising the puppies at home, don't ship them etc. when we got ours he was so terrified of being in a crate he started hurting himself of getting out. We never put him in one again and he is a very happy loving dog. Overall I am so thankful we went there because of our wonderful dog but am in 100% agreement she needs to be shut down. I might as well have driven to that puppy mill farm in PA myself and bought him for $900. read more

I'll start by saying we Love our five month old "Golden doodle" . When I called, and then if you read other reviews you will see the same, we were told we "were so lucky! That they just happened to have puppies available that day to take home"...When we arrived we were put in a viewing room and brought puppies one at a time, which was weird in itself. We were told our golden doodle boy was a medium sized and that his parents were around 40 and 50 pounds. We did not get to see the parents... And now we know why! At Four months old our puppy had already passed 45 pounds... Although he's perfect and sweet tempered we would never recommend American Goldendoodle to anybody else. I do not think they knew who the parents of our dog were, and they must have lied to us The whole time we were there about their breeding process. Not trustworthy. read more

We were looking for a goldendoodle and when we found American Goldendoodle we were so excited. I had been doing a lot of research and wanted to find a place nearby where we could go and interact with the puppies before bringing one home. My initial phone call with Denise was fine, she was very quick though and barely asked any questions about us. But she said to call back after discussing with my fiance if we would want to come to the farm. So, I called back that evening and she answered the phone not remembering any of our conversation from earlier in the day. She asked me what breed dog I wanted which I thought was odd since she only breeds Goldendoodles. She then said someone was on the other line and she would call me back. She never did. So, I emailed her the next day and never heard back. After looking at her reviews I think we dodged a bullet. The minute I said I was interested in looking at the farm she basically cut off communication. I wouldn't trust her. read more

I have nothing but praise for Denise and her beautiful Goldendoodles. They are raised in a loving and peaceful environment and it shows in their gentleness and demeanor. They are clean, healthy and beautiful animals. I got Toby 5 years ago from Denise and instantly fell in love with him the first time I held him at 10 days old. A very special blend of Poodle and Golden Retriever equals a loyal, loving and intelligent animal. Denise's goldendoodles excell in excellence and in beauty. I started training Toby immediately after I brought him home and he graduated basic training at 5 months old. I was so incredibly proud of him that I enrolled him in intermediate class and he graduated that course with flying colors. During his intermediate class two tragedies occurred in New England, one being the Newtown Sandy Hook School tragedy and the other being the Boston Marathon bombing. In the aftermath of these two tragedies a group of therapy dogs were brought to Newtown and into Boston to help soothe and comfort the citizens of each of these two cities. From these two horrific events I decided that I wanted to share Toby's gentleness and affection with everyone that needed comfort and love. Advanced training, his 3rd and final course consisted of hand signals only and guess what, he passed this course with straight A's. Following these three separate training courses I contacted Therapy Dogs International and we became a certified therapy dog team. Toby has touched the lives and hearts of thousands of people in hospitals, schools, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, colleges and universities. Let me start by saying I love my puppy but that AG raises dogs by hand that are well socialized is a load of bull. We've had Riley not quite 4 weeks and he has serious anxiety issues. Can't be left alone, can't travel in cars without puking or walk near them, can't go in a crate without panicking and is having significant potty training issues ... it really makes me question the "old fashioned way" of raising goldendoodles by hand and not in a kennel. The paperwork we received at purchase did not include any type of veterinarian review or physical exam of the puppy. A shot record, not specific to the dog was included but at almost 16 weeks and $3000 the puppy hadn't had rabies shots and wasn't microchipped. Very little was included. The cost is not discussed up front and when you give a deposit, you are not made aware that it's non-refundable until you read the receipt you're given. It's been a frustrating experience. But like I said, I love my puppy, he is a sweet dog despite his issues and I'm hoping with a lot of training and medication we can overcome them. read more

Please research this 'company' before purchasing your puppy here. Her website indicates that her litters are family raised and her puppies are of the highest quality. This simply is not true. There are always puppies available, all different ages. There are 'assistants' that run the visits, you will never meet the owner Denise. After visiting and falling in love with a pup, I ignored my gut feelings, ignored all the red flags and purchased a puppy. Our puppy was brought home with several parasites and continues to be incredibly anxious. Since bringing the puppy home, I have begun to research the breeder and have found that my experience was exactly like so many. I have also connected with families who purchased puppies from here, one from a litter born 3 days after mine and another from a litter born 12 days after mine. It is simply impossible for true family raised dogs to have 3 litters in a single month...and still have older puppies to choose from. It's irresponsible and unethical. Please do not support this puppy mill. read more
