PSA for anyone who takes their dogs for grooming in Warwick, RI DO NOT! Use the The FURdresser. on West Shore Rd in Warwick One of my wife's co-workers brought her pup Tucker in for a bath, trim and nail clip, he went in nice and fluffy like the pic shows and came out hacked up. The clippers cut up his belly and legs which you can clearly see the clipper marks and they had the nerve to say that he went in like that because he had a rash! The botched the boy up because they were running several hours behind schedule. He was supposed to be done at 4pm and when called at 3:30 to see if he was ready they were just starting him. They were in a hurry and he suffered because of it. He has not been sleeping well and trying to lick the Neosporin off Do your dogs and yourself a favor and avoid this place like the plague read more

This place is a jewel! 5 stars are not enough. Upon picking up my 2 very large dogs, I was glad to see they looked and smelled fabulous, but I was overjoyed to see they were so animated with Kristi! Generally I've done my best to home groom, because although the end result is better when done professionally, these 2 boys are very sensitive by nature, and have been skittish and nervous for days after a grooming salon visit. Not after the Furdresser appointment. They had a spa day, and just as I could feel the positive energy this shop is filled with, obviously so could they. I LOVE that treat, drink, and potty breaks are factored into the grooming session, and yes it lengthens the amount of time at the salon, but it makes the event WAY MORE PLEASENT for the animal. I called and made an appt for my two long-haired cats. The woman on the phone asked several questions about their temperament bc their cat groomer was very nervous as she had been bitten several times recently. But we made an appt since my cats have been groomed their entire lives. When I arrived for the appt the salon was closed. There were two dogs running around inside barking like mad. I called their number and left a message and waited for 15 minutes. No one showed up and no one called me back after the fact to apologize. I'm writing this for those of us with anxious animals that don't travel well. Loading the cats into the carrier and driving a 1/2 an hour is a big deal for us. I was very disappointed. Very unprofessional and so rude that that I never even heard from them. read more

Took over 6 hours to groom one house cat! No communication about delays until we showed up to ask. Somehow distressed our very mild mannered cat into wetting himself which he has never done before. Definitely never coming back here. I'll wait for petco to reopen for grooming. read more

First time here. I booked an appointment this past Friday and they were able to squeeze her in the next day on a Saturday surprisingly. It was awesome because every other place was booked and I really needed her groomed for Christmas. I dropped my dog off (she's a very nervous, reserved dog) Both girls came out from behind the counter and gave her some rubs while we were there to make her feel comfortable before my daughter and I left. I loved that!!! The 2-3 other groomers we've been to over the years have never have done that. It made me trust them immediately with my fur-baby. With that said, they had my dog from 11:30am-6:30pm which is way too long. (I think think they did some serious over booking) When I dropped her off at 11:30 they said she'd be done around 3:30-4 (which I thought was abnormally long to begin with) I'll give them some leeway on that since it is the holiday season and i'm sure they tried to be helpful with clients and squeeze in every dog they possibly could. Since this is my first time here, I can't say whether or not they usually take that long or if it's circumstantial. The reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because they're way too over priced. I have a medium sized, 45 lb Border Collie/Shepherd mix and it cost $80 (I paid $95 w/ tip.) I typically pay between $45-$50 before tip for her groom. I can say they did a great job on her overall. She came out super soft, and smells amazing even days later. I would come back without a doubt if the cost came down a little. I simply cannot afford $90-$95 to groom her every time! If you can afford the high cost, I totally recommend them! read more

Wow, I had the best experience here yesterday. My fiancé and I decided yesterday it was time to take my cat to get shaved as his mats were worsening. We were able to walk in without an appointment and be seen. I was soooooo nervous to take him to a groomer as he was an abandoned cat and found in rough shape, leaving him with anxiety, especially when outside or in a new environment. But we dropped him off and ran erands and we were texted friendly updates. When I went to pick him up I was nervous he would be skittish and crying but he was calm and he looked AMAZING, and he smelled great too. After travel he will normally hide under objects when we get home but he got home and went back to being normal. I'm so happy that they took such great care of him and he looks soooo cute with the shave they did. Thank you FURdresser, we will see you soon!!! read more

Our 12 year old dog just went here for the first time. He was dropped off at 3:00. We called to check on him at 6:00 and they told us he would be ready at 8pm. Apparently they don't factor in that dogs need to eat dinner and older pets also need their medications. When he was picked up, we said 5 hours seemed like a pretty long time to keep a dog. The girl responded "well, you don't need to come back." She is correct. And we won't. read more

I took my dog here for the first time because they had 4/5 stars Sorry I did my dog the next day wasn't acting himself stretching out not normally tilting his head to the side a lot and cried several times seemed so uncomfortable I took him to the vet and he had to be put on medication for inflammation and pain due to head and back trauma and they took 5 and a 1/2 hours with him and the cut was not straight uneven and straggly never ever again I haven't decided if I'm going to take this further due to hurting my dog. read more

My floofy, muddy, shedding pup went in smelling like an earthworm, but came out smelling like a peach! She was very happy and the employees took excellent care of her. The FURdresser holds a special place in my heart. We have been taking our dog there for over a year now. Since day one, the owner, Kristi has accepted Lev with open arms. Kristi is a pleasure to work with and is always happy to see Lev. Lev is large (90lbs) Bouvier and is VERY strong. He isn't the most compliant (seems to think bath time and scissoring for him is rugby match time) but definitely loves Kristi and and her shop. Kristi dedicates a lot of time and energy to grooming Lev and each time we pick him up, we are greeted by a very handsome pup, complete with stylish bandanna! We appreciate how Kristi goes the extra mile for her clients and her work is very thorough. Her attention to detail is amazing and she's great with keeping to breed-specific cuts. Horrible! I was told it would take four hours to groom my dog - NOT SO- I waited over 8 houre!!! Almost cried when I saw my dog. A four year old could have done a better job. Can you imagine a poodle without a poofy tail??? Or fluffy ears??? Well, my poodle's tail was shaved off and his ears were hacked super short. I don't mind paying for a job well done but what I paid for this hack job was outrageous!!! read more
