Dryer Vent Wizzard saved the day for me. I originally hired Kleen Green to clean my dryer vents. After sending Kleen Green (also dba "America Air Duct Cleaning") photos of my laundry room and my stacked units, they provided me a quote. But when Kleen Green arrived, they doubled their quote. (It felt like the classic bait and switch and zip-code-based pricing.) Worse, they ended up charging me close to $900 to clean out two dryer vents. Several months later, I saw tons of lint coming from behind the machine. When I called Kleen Green, they said their work was no longer under warranty. They said I needed to call within weeks of their cleaning (before the accumulation of new lint became noticeable from the front) in order for them to stand by their work. At this point, my appliance store recommended Dryer Vent Wizard, who told me that Kleen Green had reattached the vent hoses improperly. We called Dryer Vent Wizard to connect our new LG dryer to the dryer vent. The tech was unable to connect the dryer to the vent, indicating that there wasn't enough room behind the dryer (about 4 inches, not including the recess box). We spoke to the local manager, Gina, who indicated that in order to connect the dryer, the tech would have had to open up the wall and the tile floor, and the company is not licensed to do that. We called our contractor who was able to connect the dryer up just fine. It took him about an hour, and he did not have to open up the wall or the floor. NOTE: I originally hired Dryer Vent Wizard of the Greater North Bay, for my rental unit in Cotati, CA- and had a great experience- and wrote a review for them on their separate Yelp page. Since I had such a good experience for my rental unit, I decided to try Dryer Vent Wizard for our house in Livermore. This time it was Dryer Vent Wizard from the Greater Modesto Area, and I made the appointment online very easily. Once again I got a courtesy call before the serviceman arrived. His name was also James, but not the same one as in the north bay. But just as good- he was very professional, seemed to really know dryer vents and have all the parts he needed to fix our system up. He kept me well informed of what he found and what he recommended as he worked, and I really liked that he was measuring the air flow to ensure his work solved the problem. There were some things he recommended to be done that he admitted were easy for him to do- and so he did not charge much for those things. I really appreciate that honesty. He was also very careful - like being sure the roof gutter was strong enough before putting his ladder on it- so he would not damage it. All in all, a great guy with the best attitude for customer service! My brand new dryer stopped drying clothes because the installers didn't check the airflow. It turns out that the duct was severely clogged and I learned that after the dryer's safety was tripped and the igniter had blown. Within an couple hours, James was able to replace the hose with a crush/fire resistant flexible one, clean the duct and update my way-out-of-date vent on the outside of my house, which was restricting air flow. Airflow went from 4mph to 16mph! Now the dryer is super efficient and drys clothes as we would expect from a brand new dryer. A dryer vent wizard (use the term loosely) worked on F 24SEP. My dryer was in perfect working order. I stepped away and with in 15 minutes my Samsung dryer was completely disabled. The drum would not turn. Since the dryer no longer functioned, the rep offered to clean the vent from the inside of the home for a higher fee that the 200$ which I agreed to. After I refused to have the vent cleaned from the inside for a higher cost. He insisted that I pay the diagnostic fee of 39.00. I refused because there was no need to diagnose that I had hired them to clean the dryer vent. Irate, I have called at least 6 times for an owner to address my issues. NEVER, EVER have I been contacted. They should repair my dryer and clean the vent at no charge. read more

When my dryer would not heat and I ruled out the heating element and the thermostats, I contacted five appliance repair businesses on Yelp. Four of them do not do the service I needed, which was replace the broken air vent hose in the back and blow out the line. It would seem to be easy money to me but they don't do it. One company said they did do it but then they jerked me around about the appointment day. It was one of those companies that cares more about their Yelp review than their customer service. Ferrar Appliance referred me to Dryer Vent Wizard and that was a good referral. Dryer Vent Wizard was able to come out right away. The technician they sent was very professional with a good demeanor. He explained the problem and he fixed the problem. He told us the desired maintenance for this situation. What he charged to fix the broken hose and blow out the line was what it would have cost to come twice in the 10 years that we've lived in the house, which is the recommended maintenance of every three to five years he said. If I remember correctly, the technician's name was Chris from the Elk Grove DVM who recently cleaned our dryer vent. I have to say how massively impressed I am with the results. Like many others that have left comments on Yelp, I was a bit taken aback by the estimate (I've paid less then half the amount in the past), but shrugged my shoulders and said "go ahead". Man am I glad I did! The dryer has not worked this well in years, which shows I was getting ripped off by other DV cleaners. Pleases consider a reduced cost yearly maintenance cleaning program. I recently got a new Maytag washer/dryer and the dryer started showing "check vent" light indicating the flow was not okay. I was skeptical as I'd blown out with a leaf blower the vent prior to installation and got some stuff out. So I bought a home kit, and it got out some more lint, but I still had the problem. I finally called out Dryer Vent Wizard and James measured the flow and heat and found it was still not working as it should. He cleaned it, and apparently the vent line is longer than I thought and he got out lots of lint. The readings on the flow for air speed and heat were now as expected. 12 Days ago I made an appointment with the Dryer Vent Wizards to come look at our dryer vents. Tech came within the appointment window - great! Tech looked around and said he must climb on roof to investigate the vent further - OK, no problem please go ahead Unfortunately, tech did not have a ladder with him to gain access to the roof and told me we must reschedule. After waiting for 12 days since making the appointment with the receptionist, I did not receive any phone calls or anything asking me about my home. Tech left a business card for his manager. I called his manager, obviously upset since we I took time off from work to make this appointment only to be told I need to re-schedule. As soon as I speak with the manager and voice my frustration, he gets very defensive telling me he doesn't appreciate me calling and complaining, and that I should make an appointment with another company. James at Dryer Vent Wizard is simply fantastic. I cleaned out our vent myself after buying a tool at Lowes that snakes 50' plus into the dryer vent. What a pain to do-it-yourself. Tooks me several hours to do it and did successfully pull out tons of lint (3 full buckets from shop vac). I asked James to use his video camera to check the vents to ensure I did not puncture the piping after my next door neighbor faced that problem. James used his video cam and showed how much lint was surprisingly still there...not enough to re-clean but enough to convince me that we should do this annually. We have been having problems with our dryer and assumed maybe we needed our home's dryer vent cleaned. James and his assistant came out today and provided EXCELLENT service. I will recommend this company to anyone looking for the services they offer. He called me about an hour prior to arrival and arrived on time. He was very friendly and professional. He's also very knowledgeable in what he does. We live in a type of house called a "co-op", so we have a shared wall with another house but the wall is hollow inside so it's not "wall to wall", anyway, the dryer vent outlet was hard to find. It ended up being through the roof. He was able to figure this out pretty quick! He noticed some sort of other vent on our roof that had it's lid off and even replaced that for us. Our dryer vent was pretty dirty, I'm sure it probably has never been cleaned. We rent this home and it is 14 years old. He was able to get the work all done within about an hour and gave us a very fair price. Our issue ended up not having anything to do with the vent, it is actually the dryer itself. But we are still glad we had the service done to reduce the risk of fire anyway. We are so glad we chose this company and are very satisfied with our service.
