My husband commented on them having a Roggenbier. Rye beers are not often something we find on taplists. This one, Roggen Roll Dude!, had a sweet that balanced the bitter of the rye. It was a collab between Monolith and Alley Brews. I enjoyed their German Helles Lager, EO's Dream. Solid, to style and refreshing. We like to also do tasters and discuss, so we got a taster of Nanner Nutz, a Peanut Butter Banana Stout; Vorpal Blade, Roasted Jalapeno/Serrano Ale and Lord of the Links, Smoked Sausage Stout and a collab with A Bit Twisted Brewpub. Their electronic menu board indicated that cooking classes are frequent. The very friendly bartender welcomed the pup in, and served my wife and me a very tasty beer each. Customers came over and greeted our little puppy and told us how cute they thought he was. A very pleasant trip to the pub all around. We'll head back for another visit the next time we're in the area.

The very nice patio was quite busy when we arrived, with lots of families with young children, several dogs, and groups of friends enjoying themselves. The crowd all seemed very happy to be there and was universally very pleasant. We each had a couple of very good beers to match each of our palates, and our four legged friend roughhoused with a great big English Cream retriever, who seemed rather amused at a four month old pup's attempts to wrestle her to the ground. We chatted with the owner and his family while the dogs got their exercise. We will definitely return to this great brewpub the next time we're in the area.

God, I love this place…read more It had been a hot minute. I was in the area the other night and already made plans to come here after my work event. Candlelight is one of Denver's best dives and it's not even close. You're greeted by iconic signage, similar to what you see on Colfax. Remember this is Wash Park, so it sticks out more than usual. And I say that as a unwavering compliment. Happy hour deals every day of the week, some of them even lasting through close. Mondays are burger nights and Wednesdays are wing nights. Currently $7 on either of those nights! I haven't had this burger in a long long time. Upon first bite, steaming hot burger juice splattered onto my hand. I still see the burn nearly two days later. Was it worth it? Of course it was. Fluffy bun, melty cheese, and meaty burgerness. A little overcooked for my liking, but you're not making a fuss at a place like this. Prices are shockingly good. Inflation proof! Pool, darts, tv's, all the dive bar staples are here. A $20 bill goes a long way here. Food runs until 11:30pm every night!

To respect the event I was attending, my objective at Trash Hawk was to obtain a ginger beer to have with my burger. They did not have ginger beer but offered ginger ale. They sat down a drink in my vicinity that had a lime with it and it took a sip, and it turned out to be a margarita that belonged to a nice lady. I was confused why there was a lime. The bartender gave me my ginger ale and made the lady a new margarita. Being a trash panda aficionado, I was delighted with the aesthetics of the place. Someday when I'm not striving for sobriety, I'll be back.

On really hot days the few shaded spots go first so there may not be opportunity for cooler spots. The indoors is fairly small but on nice days the garage doors will be open. Beer is a good variety and has all the favorites. Princess Yum Yum is always a hit. Food is actually really good for a brewery. The wings and duck fat fries are a highlight. Burger is pretty good but they don't allow any substitutions. Service can be hit or miss, sometimes they are friendly and sometimes they forget about you and give you attitude. Right next door is Right Cream so you can enjoy ice cream after your beers and food.
