We have brought clothes and other items to be laundered and dry cleaned. Almost every time I come, this employee 'Esmerelda' rejects some piece of clothing. She has rejected dresses, pants, shirts. Sometimes giving reasons, sometime correcting me about the clothes, or the stain and sometimes just saying they won't clean an item. We have even resorted to washing the shirts before laundering them at this place because of her comments. Today was the last straw, I brought in a Zara dress my wife wore once. Esmeralda rejected "it because the tag doesn't say how to clean it. I pointed out the several tags and QR code from Zara that gave information about how to clean the garment. She refused to take the garment. Because this person has been a problem with me I asked my wife to come out of the car to talk to her and I called the owner. While the owner agreed that that type of garment could be problematic, he agreed that her response wasn't the way to keep customers. I agree they lost our family's business today. While I appreciate the owner taking the call, I am going to choose to not patronize this franchise. We took our other clothes back and will take our business elsewhere while she is still there. I explained I have been coming here for a number of years (mostly laundry not dry-cleaning) and asked why they are they lying, not providing a cleaned product, and do they not care about retaining customers. The owner said, 'We don't need your business.' Well there you have it folks, consider finding a dry cleaner that actually needs customers instead of taking money for continued failed service. Our family has been searching for a reliable dry cleaner that can deliver ready-to-wear clothes. After reading numerous positive reviews, we decided to give McLean Cleaners a try about a year ago, despite the higher cost and having to trek from outside McLean. Our experience has been far from stellar. One of the major issues is that I often have to steam items in our order before wearing them. In particular, the collars on at least half of the women's blouses I receive are creased. It's also not uncommon for our dry cleaning to not be ready when promised. I rarely write reviews, but today's experience was the last straw. We dropped an order a few days ago and were promised pick-up today. Given past experiences, we called twice to confirm it would be ready when promised at 4:00 p.m. We were assured that it would be. When we arrived close to 5:00 p.m., we were informed it was not ready. The associate could provide no explanation as to why. We are disappointed that the level of service does not match the higher cost or the positive reviews. We will likely continue our search for another cleaner that can deliver ready-to-wear clothes when promised. If anyone has recommendations, I'm all ears.
