I used McClean Cleaners to clean and preserve my wedding gown, and to clean a white anarkali that I wore to my rehearsal dinner that my in-laws had made for me in India. The anarkali is immaculate so that I can wear it for future occasions, and my gown is neatly preserved in the provided "Bridal Chest" box. For gown preservation, the staff will begin work on the gown (I had a veil as well), then contact you to assess how it looks before packaging for preservation. My gown was rumpled in the back of my car for nearly a year before I made the time to find a preservation service and take it in, so I have a lot of faith and confidence that the staff here can make miracles happen, especially if you are more timely than I was. McLean Cleaners promises superior quality (that would purportedly align with his higher prices). Unfortunately it has fallen short of our expectations. Our family has been searching for a reliable dry cleaner that can deliver ready-to-wear clothes. After reading numerous positive reviews, we decided to give McLean Cleaners a try about a year ago, despite the higher cost and having to trek from outside McLean. Our experience has been far from stellar. One of the major issues is that I often have to steam items in our order before wearing them. In particular, the collars on at least half of the women's blouses I receive are creased. It's also not uncommon for our dry cleaning to not be ready when promised. I rarely write reviews, but today's experience was the last straw. We dropped an order a few days ago and were promised pick-up today. Given past experiences, we called twice to confirm it would be ready when promised at 4:00 p.m. We were assured that it would be. When we arrived close to 5:00 p.m., we were informed it was not ready. The associate could provide no explanation as to why. We are disappointed that the level of service does not match the higher cost or the positive reviews. We will likely continue our search for another cleaner that can deliver ready-to-wear clothes when promised. If anyone has recommendations, I'm all ears. read more

I brought in a suede jacket requesting a cleaning service for a badly stained jacket with oil, honestly, I thought it was a lost cause. I had already tried a YouTube hack that didn't work, and I figured I'd just get it cleaned enough to feel okay donating it to Goodwill. My expectations were low, and I even told the staff I didn't think much could be done. They were super honest and managed my expectations from the start, which I appreciated. No big promises, just a commitment to try their best. When I picked the jacket up, I was genuinely surprised, shocked actually. It looked brand new, like something fresh off the rack. I couldn't believe it was the same jacket! I had ready began looking for a similar jacket and of course couldn't find anything at the same price point. The value thee offered in the low cleaning didn't match the cost of the jacket or a new one. Now that it's cleaned way beyond anything I imagined, I'm definitely keeping it. Watch out, great cleaning ahead! I spent some time in VA on assignment and needed to find a local cleaners. Hopped on Yelp, and McLean cleaners was highly recommended. I went ahead and took my clothes there and was not disappointed. They offer quick service at a very reasonable price. I could not have been happier with there service. In addition to cleaning, they did some minor alterations for me. They were also able to fix a pair of suit pants that had a double crease. DO NOT TRUST WITH EXPENSIVE CLOTHING - Based on good reviews I brought two designer items in for cleaning. I had a very specific conversation with the woman who checked in the pieces about NOT puncturing the silk on an Hermes scarf. She said they would definitely never do that and secured a tag to the scarf "tag" vs the silk material. When I picked it up there was a giant safety pin straight through the silk and threads pulled halfway up the length of the scarf. They pulled and pressed the scarf so the damage was less obvious but as I was pointing the damage out to the same person who checked in the pieces, another person charged my card without my even realizing it. I was shocked that they'd even think to charge me the $10 cleaning cost when they damaged a $400 scarf. When I pointed this out I was met with a blank stare. Then after a lot of redundant discussion and blank looks, the response was that they did a "good job making it look better". What?!?? Then she agreed to refund the $10 charge even though I had every reason to ask for compensation for the damage. I recognize I should have not trusted a new cleaner with something of value so lesson learned, but customer beware that as long as they don't consider the damage "that bad", there will be confusion on what the problem is. read more

They did it !! Some background, before I explain. I've been a customer for a long time. Never thought that much about it, as the clothes were cleaned, the work was good, the owners and staff were knowledgeable and friendly, and they got the job done. Well, I threw them what I was sure was a curve ball: a grapefruit-sized red wine/cranberry juice/ something-VERY-dark-red on my cream-colored, favorite pair of comfy, casual pants. Unbelieveably, there is now NO trace of any stain whatsoever. Wish I had a before and after to show. By the way, I've had chair-seat cushions cleaned, very delicate clothing hand-washed, blankets and comforters de-mildew-ified, and all came back top-notch. Anyway, I am now motivated to write a 5-star review, and say Thank You McLean Cleaners for keeping us clean and happy customers! read more

Five stars for integrity and helpfulness. A friend was visiting and one of her little one's had an accident during the night and our down comforter needed to be cleaned. The tag said dry clean or professionally launder, so we drove around looking for a cleaner to do the work. We popped in one cleaner who recommended McLean Cleaners. When we got there the owner (I'm guessing) said he would dry clean it but that wouldn't actually clean the comforter. He said he would recommend laundering it AND if we had a front end loader, we could do it ourselves - just add tennis balls to the dryer when drying it. We took the comforter home and laundered it ourselves, with tennis balls in the dryer, to great success. Luckily this comforter was small because my washer wouldn't handle anything larger. (It was almost too heavy with the small one) When it comes time to launder the larger ones at the end of season I will be taking them to McLean Cleaners because of this experience. read more

When my office was in McLean, I used this fastidious cleaner for all of my ' dry clean' only clothing and on holidays- even table linens. My office moved to Arlington , and after trying so many other cleaners- I'm driving BACK to Mclean to have my drycleaning done. Why? Other cleaners return my clothng with the same stains I sent the clothing in with. Other cleaners break buttons dirty collars and leave me with stinky , less than white silks . This cleaner covers my buttons, and spots my clothing with out me having to stick that dang tape all over the front! I dropped off my clothes there for dry Cleaning service 3 weeks ago. Last Friday I went to pick up my clothes but the clerk couldn't find them. Since then I had called them everyday to find out where my stuff is. Turns out the clerk gave them to the wrong customer a week prior. To this date I still don't have my clothes back. Owner, Dale, takes the time to listen, look at a problem with a garment, and then clearly tells you your options. He is old-school--he doesn't quit until it is taken care of. His knowledge level is so impressive and his ability to think outside the box is refreshing. Front staff, Jonathan and Tracy are always cordial, helpful, and really try to make sure every detail is attended to. There is no one ANYWHERE that I trust with my prized tablecloths. I had taken this dress that was in terrible condition to other cleaners that also had great reviews on yelp and was given a very iffy "not sure if this will come out or may leave spotting in the color" (since it was silk) - why would I feel safe leaving my valueables with that kind of response?!...I gave McLean Cleaners a call and Dale was extremely confident that he could get it out - I dropped it off and 3 days later, it was just as new. price is reasonable -this place is definitely the perfect place to take any specialty items, valuable or sentimental items that you want to wear for a long time!!! read more

The items had gotten dirty and had stains that others could not get out. So I was SO pleased with the clothes - all the stains came out and everything looked brand new. Excellent job cleaning my precious 30 year old Member's Only jacket, my daily wear during spring and fall. It was dingy with many stains. They were honest at the outset and said that they could not promise removal of the dye. They called when they promised to let me know that my gown was clean and ready. Took my bridesmaid dress to get cleaned (am going to wear to another wedding) and the service was exceptional, speedy, and cost effective! I had pretty gross white deodorant stains on a dark blue dress. All gone now! Also the owner (the male who usually works the front counter) was extremely awesome and friendly. We have had rugs cleaned as well as refringed, three wedding dresses cleaned and preserved, table clothes cleaned and pressed and lots of regular items cleaned and destained, they always do a wonderful job. Stains that you think would never come out miraculously disappear. Then top it off with great customer service is the icing on the cake. This dry cleaners is AMAZING! I bought my wedding dress at a sample sale and I was afraid it was a huge mistake since it was incredibly dirty, especially the train of the dress.
