I wasn't a big fan as someone who religiously eats out. The server was just ok. She seemed slammed, but we went during light traffic so not many patrons inside/outside restaurant. The weather was permitting so we sat in the patio area outside. Our waters were never refilled and we weren't provided any utensils. Then, when asked we waited 15+ minutes because the host forgot. When we got up to ask again they said, "we don't give utensils out [to non customers]. Lol, weird. Then the host realize we were sitting outside--mind you we mentioned this when asking the first time--she says, "oh, that makes sense." An odd experience. The food wasn't great either. Bite size food portions. Drinks were good, but tasted like a popsicle. I was underwhelmed and probably won't return. There are plenty options in the CWE so you're not missing anything with this one.

I visited the Drunken Dish for the first with a friend on a Thursday around 5pm and had a great time. The restaurant has a bright, open-air vibe with lots of wood that reminiscent of Japandi interior design. Eating here is great for any occasion. Ordered Drunken Fish Signature Roll and it came out so quick. The flavors were a great balance of salty, sweet, and Unami flavors with wonderful textures. The only thing was I inhaled the roll so fast, so maybe a slightly larger portion size would have been nice. Service was fast and attentive. Overall, an excellent place for sushi

I went to Drunken Fish last night with my girlfriend -- a spot I always heard my older brothers hype up back when they'd hit the Central West End. It's long had a reputation as one of those "nicer" dinner spots in the area. After finally trying it, I'd say... it was okay. The vibes were decent and the service was friendly and prompt. No complaints there. It was a bit chilly inside, but to be fair, I'm always cold -- so I'll let them slide with that this time. We ordered Asahi beers and asked for them on draft, but unfortunately, they only had bottles. That might seem like a small thing, but the experience isn't quite the same -- the bottle version just never hits right for me. We started with the Firecracker Shrimp. Texture-wise, it was on point: crispy batter and great crunch. However, the "smoky dragon sauce" threw me off. It had this smoky BBQ flavor that wasn't terrible -- just not something I want paired with shrimp. It gave more chicken wing vibes than seafood. Drunken Fish Roll (my order): Shrimp tempura, Japanese mayo, asparagus, topped with tuna, eel sauce, Masago, tempura crumbs, and sprouts. Flavor-wise, it was solid. My issue? The "Japanese mayo" was giving Hellmann's or Miracle Whip more than Kewpie or Kenko. I'll be straight up, if they're going to call it Japanese mayo, it should taste like it. Either that or go heavier on the eel sauce to carry the roll. Crispy Volcano Roll: My girlfriend got this one. I don't like crab mixes, so I didn't try it, but it looked well-presented and crispy. She said it was good but not mind-blowing. It wasn't a bad night -- but it wasn't a great food experience either. Will I try Drunken Fish again? Yes. Will that be soon? No.

After a short google search I found this location and wanted to give it a try. Prior to going I called to see if reservations were needed. They let me know no same day reservations were available and promptly hung up the call. Maybe that should of indicated that it was going to be an eh experience. I brushed it off as maybe they were slammed. They had amble seating and looked like a local regular spot. The type where wearing sweatpants and jeans were typical. The location is very casual. The pricing is probably $35-45 pp depending on what you're in the mood for. You could easily spend more depending on what menu item calls out to you. I went with the pineapple chicken bowl and appreciated having a dish with veggies in it. My friend had a sushi roll. Everything was ok, 2-3 stars.

My friend and I came here for quick dinner plans. We were immediately sat upstairs and this was my first time being on the upper floor. I honestly prefer sitting upstairs than downstairs. Nontheless our waiter greeted us and he was polite and patient since this was my friend first time going here. We eventually settled on the chicken teriyaki nachos as a appetizer and for our entrees we got seafood friend rice that contained scallops, crab meat and shrimp. The other dish was a salmon poke bowl. We ordered regular foundation drinks but if you want goo alcoholic beverages this place has some good choices. Everything tasted good. As always until next time...

Shanna was my server for a quick lunch, prompt and nice! Miso soup was excellent as was the salad and sushi. Enjoyed everything!

Drunken Fish had good food and good service. I had the summer salad with shrimp. It was delicious. I was immediately turned off by the dirty table, sticky floors, dirty menu, and dirty bathroom. I saw on of their employees smoking outside of the restaurant before going in. Go to Drunken Fish for good food and little else.

I had a coupon for a free shareable so I booked a reservation before it expired. I was excited about trying Drunken Fish because I always see people on the patio enjoying themselves. I was disappointed by the interior. It's underwhelming and outdated. It doesn't give a fresh, lively vibe. The prices were high compared to other sushi restaurants. $22 for an 8 piece maki roll? Come on. The service was good and the Carribbean Roll was delicious. The pineapple bowl was just ok and the firecracker shrimp appetizer was good. Overall the experience was average.

I came here with a friend to try a new restaurant. Outdoor seating is available but we decided to eat indoors considering how hot and humid it is. Tony was our server and he was very friendly, attentive and eager to assist. Very knowledgeable of the food and drink menu which was a plus. I decided on the stir fry noodles shrimp, lobster spring rolls, teriyaki chicken and for drinks Mr.miyagi and Sake Punch. I did not like the stir fry noodles at all . Udon noodles were too fat , airy and bland . Thank god Tony let me switch up and I decided on shrimp rice , much better. The drinks were both delicious and refreshing. Prices reasonable but the ambiance was very outdated . Restroom needed attention and outdated as well on the upstairs level.

I just visited the Drunken Fish sushi bar and had the best service! My server was Chasity and she was so pleasant from the moment we entered. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great! I will be back and highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you Chasity!!

I yelp searched the most reviewed sushi place in STL. I feel like bc there are many reviews and visits, it would be a testament to how good the place is and how popular. I want to give Drunken fish 4 stars but there were things that really made it a 3.2. When I stepped inside, I pictured something higher end. But it was really dated looking. The table tops were painted wooden panels that were sticky to the touch. The restroom had a fly hovering over the toilet with a mirror in which you had to bend down to see yourself. (I'm not that tall) Aside from the condition of the place, the sushi rolls were good. However, anyone that cooks rice often will know the texture of rice when the lid has been left open and the top layer dry and inedible... the sushi rolls had bits and pieces of these hard dry pieces of rice... at first I thought they were chili flakes or sesame seeds, but it was the rice... it really wasn't pleasant at all. Besides the dry rice, the sushi rolls were good but a tad bit overpriced. The colossal calamari roll was good but not $21 good. I'm not sure I would come back to be honest. This is stl's most reviewed sushi place and it disappointed... Service was okay... I'm not sure what the server could have done to make it better but also didn't seem to catch that it was my first time to offer recommendations or specials.

We didn't get a choice and were sat at the bar. Ordering is done through the QR code and water is offered self-serve. We split an order of the appetizers: house cucumbers and karaage. I'm not a huge cucumber fan but I tried it. I preferred the one with miso as I found it to be more subtle in taste. The chicken was average and didn't wow me. We each got the chicken shoyu with no pork, no scallions and an extra egg. It felt like it took a long time to get our food. We were both surprised once we got it as we were expecting actual chicken pieces but after rereading the menu description, it was chicken oil. He was a bit disappointed as both our dishes were covered in scallions. I suggested we not send it back since it took quite a while to get our food and they were close to closing. Nevertheless, I found the broth to be tasty and full of flavor despite there being no meat. Overall, it was a solid first visit.

Some rolls are half off and so are a few beverages, like hot sake. I had never had hot sake. I've only had any sake once. I liked it fine, but I didn't want a second order after I finished the first. I was disappointed that Robata was out of plum wine. Instead I ordered what was described as a white sangria, but it tasted more like a brandy. I had a few sips and gave it to my friend. I had 4 vegetarian sushi rolls. Only the asparagus was included with happy hour. My 3 other rolls were takuan, pickle plum and BB. As much as I like plum (keep reading), and takuan was a pleasant surprise, and the asparagus was good, the BB, which has tempura asparagus, cream cheese, and sweet soy, was my favorite item of the evening. I was happy to see umeboshi onigiri on the lengthy menu. These were of a good size, but I think it perhaps would have benefitted from a higher pickled plum to rice ratio. (The only time I've had it has been from a food truck and I don't know how representative it is of onigiri.) Each order of food took a while to come out. My friend had trouble getting the server's attention when she wanted to put in more orders. Robata is not a place for a quick happy hour bite. It's going to take a while, especially if you're ordering in multiple rounds like we did. When the kitchen got too busy, my order another roll was denied. I think I'll return to Robata for the BB roll, plum wine, and maybe something new, but I will be sure to have plenty of time, order a bunch all at once, and check the bill.

The shrimp come tail on, which is fine, but one of them had sand in it, I'm not sure from what, but they definitely were not thoroughly cleaned. The flavor was flat and yet the Pad Thai was overly saucy. I saw people saying this restaurant it is authentic, speaking highly of the food, but they must be comparing it to other Thai-American spots because I just don't see it at least from the Pad Thai. Pad Thai should ideally have subtle cooked down flavors of tamarind and fish sauce, some complex sweetness from palm sugar, and subtle dried shrimp flavor as well. But here the flavor just was bland and uninteresting. Some redeeming qualities are that they had some dried shrimp on top, which is very rare in the US even in larger cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Seattle; the rice noodles themselves were cooked well (not over or undercooked); the bean sprouts looked fresh and clean; and the peanuts, chili powder, and lime coming separately was appreciated. I am do not believe in basing ratings on service and generally don't comment on service, but it wasn't great. The best part is that she isn't really a sushi person. It's changed her! Now we are here at least once a week these days. My son really likes the hand rolls, and he is partial to the avocado and crab one. The service is phenomenal, and they are always welcoming. The inside is quiet and comfortable. We do often use the drive through, but I prefer sitting inside. Don't go changing Yummi Tummi, we love you. (I had to post a second review because I can't seem to retrieve my previous account, and yelp support is non existent for non business accounts. Womp womp.)

Yummi Tummi has became my personal favorite Sushi spot!…read more When you walk in you immediately get greeted and seated. They even give you the choice of ordering online and picking it up. The staff are very kind, helpful and patient. The food comes out at the perfect pace, it doesn't take long at all. The seating is very comfortable, mainly booths with some half booth and half chairs. They have a bench up front to sit and wait if you ordered food to be picked up. They also have outside seating with umbrellas connected, perfect during the summer time. The atmosphere here is perfect for all different settings, a group of friends, a first date, just you and your significant. One of my favorite things to do is to bring friends from out of town and family members here to try out the Yummi Sushi. Everytime I visit Yummi Tummi I try a new dish or sushi roll, they NEVER disappoint! Their Spicy Steak Ramen is filling! The ramen has a great spice to it, it's not too spicy and has the perfect texture. Their meat in the ramen is delicious and cut perfectly. One of my favorite sushi rolls here is the Spicy Yellowtail Roll. There's really no bad sushi options here. The sushi comes out quickly, fresh, and placed on your plate with elegance and care. It's truly Yummy in my Tummi
