Yes, your food is delicious and we've been a frequent consumer of it... but, come on, the efficiency/service for online order processing really needs aggressive attention... Placed an online order 15 minutes before arriving... arrived a couple of minutes before the estimated "ready for pick-up time"... waited ANOTHER 20 MINUTES and had to ask several times about the order to get it prepared for pick-up... meanwhile, more than a dozen walk-ins who ordered at the counter AFTER THE TIME OF MY ONLINE ORDER got their food and were sitting down and eating it while I watched and waited for mine... There needs to be some more reasonable priority and attention given to the online order fulfillment if you are going to take them... there are plenty of other delicious sushi bowl/burrito/poke places much closer to my home these days since it became more popular (thanks to places like BLK MKT) but I choose to try and continue supporting BLK MKT even though it's a 45 minute drive round-trip... perhaps it's no longer worth it... please, do better! read more

I looked up "sushi burrito" and this place popped up. I couldn't get it out of my head so I decided to head here for a quick bite. I was honestly surprised I was the only customer in this place when I walked in. You can decide from the menu if you want a burrito, nachos, poke bowl, or a salad. They also have a seasonal item which I think is a great addition. I ordered the tiger style tuna burrito and i was pleasantly surprised. Very flavorful and all the ingredients worked so well together. The only thing I regret is not getting extra OG fire sauce on the side because it was indeed, fire. Came here on a Friday around 3:45ish. The place wasn't busy at all. I do prefer this new location compared to the old one because parking is easier. I ended up getting ordering a Cali bowl with jalapeños on top. The employee was friendly and allowd me time to decide on what I wanted. I will say their burritos are better than the bowls on my opinion. I ordered a bowl and a drink and it was $18 which to me is on the pricey side. Ok, so full disclosure, I checked in here on accident when I was at another location and no way to fix it, so I came here to eat a second lunch! I had been to the old location and had been wanting to check out the new location. It's a similar format as the old spot but not as bright and airy. A walkway directs you to the ordering counter. The menu is at the end on the side wall. I stood for a bit and reviewed the menu with no one around. A guy came from the back and apologized but I hadn't made my decision yet so he disappeared again. When I was ready, I had to wait for someone to come up from the back again. A young woman waited on me; she was fine but not real enthused which in turn made me less than enthused about eating here. The menu listed the ingredients that you could get in a burrito, a bowl, a salad, or wonton chip nachos. I went for the OG Fire with spicy salmon in nacho form. Honestly, if I was rating the food only it would have been a solid 4, maybe a 5 but the disinterested staff and dark atmosphere pulled it down to the 3. The nachos were great, the wonton chips are thin and crispy but not greasy, the salmon tasty with the sauce, great. Getting a bite with the wonton, the salmon, the guac, a cucumber, and a piece of jalapeno, so good. The perfect bite over and over. read more

I know I have already reviewed BLK Mkt Eats, but I can never get over how delicious it is each time I visit! I feel compelled to write another review. I hadn't been since they moved from their SLU location (shame on me), but the new(ish) Maplewood spot is great. I got my usual, which is the OG Fire nachos with spicy tuna. As usual, it was insanely fresh and has so many layered flavors with super crunchy wonton chips. I can't leave without ordering a side of shrimp tempura which is crazy crunchy and flavorful. My partner is a big sushi fan, so we decided to give Blk Mkt Eats a try for lunch. It wasn't too busy on a Saturday at lunchtime, and we watched our order get prepared right at the counter. The restaurant is nice and clean with lots of seating. My partner got the OG Fire sushi burrito and was very happy with it. I'm not much of a sushi guy myself so I ended up ordering the Seoul Delicious rice bowl. My favorite is the OG Fresh with salmon, it's always flavorful and fresh. I don't know why I waited to long to try Blk Mkt Eats! The food is so good. I would rather eat here than traditional sushi just about any day of the week. I got the Tiger Roll and swapped out the Ahi Tuna or Salmon for the spicy crab - incredible switch! Everyone working was super kind and accommodating with both the swap and when I asked for the shrimp tails to be cut off. I was also excited that they had POG (Passion Fruit, Orange, and Guava) juice. We decided to dine in, which there is plenty of room for in their dining area filled with tables and chairs. yes, i got takeout again... and thank goodness i did because WOW! I can't believe I lived in CWE for a whole year and never tried blk mkt but i was blown away. I don't like raw fish so I always opt for a shrimp or crab option at sushi places and here I ended up trying their cali gold burrito. The meat was so well flavored and the amount of rice/wrap was not overwhelming so it felt like i was eating less rice than if i got a roll (probably not true but that's okay). I think the quantity is worth the price for sure although others in my party were still left a little hungry after their burritos. Excited to have a solid poké restaurant in downtown Maplewood now! I stopped in with a friend earlier this week and was happy to see this location has more seating available than the location on Vandeventer. The neon signs and decor definitely give it a modern vibe. The menus is limited to 10 options but you can get them in a Burrito, Bowl, Salad, or Nachos. I asked the server at the counter what the most popular pick was and she said "Tiger Style". So I ordered the regular size Tiger Style Bowl. She said it's called Tiger Styled because they drizzle both the OG Fire and Unagi sauce on top of the bowl. You have the option to modify your meal as they are building it which is nice if you want to add more protein, veggies, etc. She asked if I wanted jalapeños, I said "I'll pass" but ended up with them on my bowl anyway :/ not a big deal though, I just picked them off. Fun idea and experience! I love the idea behind a sushi burrito. Super convenient to be able to eat sushi with your hands. Compared to a specialty roll you might get at a typical sushi restaurant, I think the price is pretty reasonable.
