We have been going to Dr. Hall and have always been happy with his thorough exam and explanations during our visits. We also love Qin who always finds us the perfect frames to match us! read more

Been a customer for years but for last 2 have had quality issues with the glasses, lenses falling out within the month, prescripted power/center is off. While the staff is pleasant to interact with, the customer followup is non existent. Orders keep getting delayed and you are told that you will be called back but that doesn't happen, weeks pass by. Pretty disappointing. read more

Always good, always efficient, always a pleasure to work with. I've been coming to Drs. Hall & Szeto for close to a decade and I have no reason to look elsewhere. As for their frames - at this point, I don't know if I go to Quyen because I need new glasses, or if I buy new glasses because I like to work with Quyen. In the end, does it matter? Just do it, you won't ever be sorry. read more

Great experience all around! Huge selection of frames to choose from and every member of their team made the whole process quick and easy. I especially appreciated that they weee able to repair an old pair of glasses for me that I thought were beyond fixing. Highly recommend! read more

We have been coming to this optometrist since 2017, even after I no longer work in downtown financial district and had to go across the bridge. The staff are always friendly and efficient. Dr Tram and Dr Ha have always been a delight. I appreciate the business is mainly run by ladies that fosters such nice caring environment. read more

Suuuuper disappointed with costumer service, responsiveness and quality control. I ordered two pairs of glasses 3 months ago and still waiting for the second pair. First pair had to be redone (completely wrong prescription) and the second pair is being fixed a second time. And to add injury to insult, ZERO follow up on repair timeline or when the glasses are ready to be picked up. read more

I've been going to Hall & Szeto since 2013, and even after I stopped working in the city, I continued coming here because of the great service. However, things have changed in the last few years. I recently ordered glasses, and after waiting two months, I never received them--or even a call back with an update. I called six times to check on my order. Twice, I was left on hold so long that I had to hang up. Four times, the receptionist promised to check and call me back, but never did. The last time, I was assured a follow-up call, which, again, never happened. Frustrated, I called again and canceled my order. I was told that a refund would be issued to my card, but after waiting a week with no refund, I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. As someone who runs a consulting business, I know that if I treated customers this way, I'd expect to lose them. I truly hope Hall & Szeto can address these service issues and get back to the level of professionalism they once had. Do better! read more

Professional, efficient, and friendly. Really liked this place. Making an appointment was very easy online. And their follow-through and follow-up were fast and efficient. When I walked in, everyone who worked there was friendly and helpful. They all seem to work very well together as a team. From the intake, through the exam, the choosing of glasses, and billing, everyone was excellent. I found my place for all things optometry. read more

Drs Hall & Szeto Optometry - Love this. - Optometrists Near Me - San Francisco, California

My family has been coming here for almost 20 years and we are super happy with the great service. Even though it takes a long time for us to get here, we didn't want to change. My husband came back last week thrilled with how well his new frame fits. It reminded me to write this much delayed review. Mike Bonnette has been extremely knowledgeable, skillful, patient, and professional! He went WAY above and beyond to making the frames working for me. We only use a particular brand of frames, very difficult to work with, and I am indecisive. Mike is magical. Others are welcoming, a delight to be here! Thank you so much! read more

This review is not about Drs. Hall & Szeto but instead related to the receptionist/person who answers the phone and schedules their appointments. My partner and I have been looking for a new optometrist and wanted to try Drs. Hall & Szeto Optometry. Our experience scheduling was bad enough that we canceled our appointments. The receptionist was rude, impatient, and snarky every time we spoke. She did not send confirmation emails, or even schedule appointments accurately. Unfortunately, her lack of professionalism and poor communication were enough for us to decide against this office. read more

This review is for Valerie and Ana. Both of these employees went WAY beyond the call of duty in seeking an important eye drop that was scarce. They had to contact a number of Walgreen stores - a gruesome task. This is a special practice! Mike Bonnette, the manager, is brilliant and I'm not exaggerating. My frames were hurting the bridge of my nose and actually breaking a vessel that had to be treated with a laser. First, he figured out the wrong frames AND THEN after I got the correct frames, I missed the nuance - but Mike nailed it immediately and corrected a tricky frame thingy. I would be circling around endlessly in an expensive loop without his caring and knowledge. Dr. Szeto is so knowledgeable, patient and was able to sort through my confusing scenario with both of my readers. Hard to figure out the prescription change needed, but she did! All of these people are so welcoming and caring! read more

I received a contact lens shipment that did not match the prescription I ordered. I was panicked because I was leaving the country for two weeks, and of course was out of the old supply. They rushed samples to my house so that I had contacts for my trip, and really went out of the way to make sure i had the correct contacts for my trip. read more

It's been 3 years since I've been to an optometrist. My last one could not fix my eye sight and I never wore my glasses that I paid for. My partner is already a patient here and finally convinced me to make an appointment. I only wished I made an appointment sooner. I was matched with Dr.Szeto who I must say is the best optometrists I've ever met in my entire life. No lie. Actually all of her staff is exceptional. They are very polite, friendly, courteous and they make you feel welcomed. I truly felt Dr. Szeto had her best interest to get the right prescription I needed. She's knowledgeable and explained things well. When it was time to choose my frames, Quinn knew just the frames that would look good on me. Out of the 7 frames I've tried, I picked her 2nd pick. She was patient with me since I'm so indecisive and was a pleasant to talk to. I highly recommend this optometrist to anyone. read more

I highly recommend Drs Hall & Szeto Optometry. I have been a patient of Dr Ha for several years. She is always thorough in her examination. She and each and every one of the office staff are extremely personable, professional and courteous. The office is very clean and organized. Since the pandemic, they sanitize every equipment you are in contact with. Although this is not new as it has always been their practice, but now they sanitize the seat/stool you've sat on! If you're looking for a new Optometrist, look no further. Several years ago, I relocated to another state. As a testament to my loyalty to Dr Ha, I travel back to The City for my annual exam. She knows my history and I trust her whole heartedly. read more

I have been going to Drs Hall & Szeto for many years now, and they are always so professional and friendly! Really appreciate the attention to detail and the up-beat efficiency. Very kind, caring people. They gave me jolly ranchers. Will not go to any other optometrist so long as I live here

I used to go there before covid shut down. I returned only be surprised at how much it changed. Really poor service. When I call the office staff seems annoyed. I was sent a text a reminder about the paperwork, but I had already completed it. Doors locked due to security, so I need to ring the bell now. I am hurried though the exam and pre-tests. I called 3x to have my rx sent to me. I was told it was a glitch in the system even though they were able to email me new paperwork to fill out. They finally emailed to me but it was an old rx. It's just not worth it since there are so many optometrist offices out there. The billing person is nice and helpful. read more

Excellent experience every time. Welcoming environment, efficient process, friendly and knowledgable team, great customer service. Dr. Ha is wonderful--I know my eye health is in good hands with her! The time to get glasses (at least 4 months, both times) is unacceptable. The failure of Hall & Szeto to get it done means they don't have controls in place. read more

I was so impressed with service. Due to employer insuance change I had not been there in years but walked in without an appointment with a pair of Lindberg frames (super light weight) that were bent at airport x-ray security thinking I might need to pay for repair or get a quote to replace. The staff who helped me was had the most outstanding customer service skills I've seen in a long time. Made me feel welcome, listened to what I said, didn't interrupt and spent time fixing my frames at no charge all while providing a delightful conversation and with a big simile. Thank You. read more

Consistently great. Dr. Ha is an excellent optometrist; thorough, professional, great communication skills. She knows what she is doing and is confident and comfortable in her work. As a bonus, she's a pleasure to work with. The staff is knowledgeable and patient and a real asset in finding new frames and dealing with insurance. The office is clean, with Covid -19 protocols enforced and additional cleanliness measures integrated into their workflow. read more

We've ordered a pair of glasses now months ago. My poor husband has been calling daily, visiting weekly for updates, and the best he gets is 'we're working on it', 'we don't know where the delivery is'. Instead of prompt follow ups, we're chasing for more information constantly. The unfortunate part too is they don't offer any refund for the costs paid with it. So we're both down in money, without glasses, and oh..expecting a baby any minute now where having good glasses would have been huge. Disappointing service. TLDR: Long lead times, no proactive follow up, customer service lacking even for loyal customers. read more

I've been a patient of Drs. Hall & Szeto Optometry since taking a position in the Financial District in 2015. The staff is extremely professional and customer service-oriented. Dr. Tram Vu is always a pleasure to see every year. She really works with me to evaluate the best solutions for my specific needs. Recently, I've really enjoyed working with Carrie Bonnette, optical technician, to select new frames and lenses, although I've also had positive interactions with Quyen Dang. The selection of frames is extensive, with options for every budget. They also carry frames in different sizes and with different sizing available for those of us with small nose bridges. read more

Been going to Dr.H and S annually for about 30 years. Same staff, same great technicians. Quyen has been helping me choose from their great array of designer frames (every price point) for years! They work with you on price, fix and clean your frames (gratis) whenever you need. Drs are top notch, state of the art technology. It's really a San Francisco institution/stalwart! Highly recommend. read more

I see Dr Ha for my eye exams. I love her because she is knowledgeable and addresses all my concerns. I feel that my eye exam is very thorough and comprehensive. I also like Dr Ha's taste in eye frames - she has helped pick out a couple of my frames. Michael is a fantastic optician! I love spending time with him to pick out my glasses frames. Drs Hall & Szeto have a great selection of frames. If the frames you want are not on site - the team can order them for you. They're being very mindful of Covid protocols, and no longer do walk-ins, requiring an appointment. They utilize the latest and greatest in their equipment. Christina is a liar and rude and condescending and so is the girl who answers the phone. Rude as hell. They rush you and and get you out as quickly as possible. I would not recommend this place. Doctors be good but the staff sucks. read more

The quality of the eye exams, their ability to bill insurance correctly and understand my insurance benefits and offer me things that were a good value (eg letting me know non prescription sunglasses were covered) were all good. No concerns. But I was treated in really condescending manner when I started to take notes on my eye diagnosis on my phone. She said in a rude tone, "Uh, do you want to get that?" The dr assumed I was texting my friends in the middle of my appointment, when in fact I was trying to transcribe the details of her diagnosis. I hadn't been to an eye doctor in a long time and had a lot of concerns with strange sensations in the back of my eye, so I wanted to make sure I had a record of the diagnosis and wouldn't forget. The fact that she just assumed I was some kid glued to my phone was really disrespectful and frankly presumptuous. I explained immediately that I was taking notes. She didn't apologize for scolding me and acted weird the rest of the appointment. I don't deserve to be scolded when it was you who misinterpreted the situation. read more

Dr.Setzo was very nice and friendly. Eye exam went smoothly. The staff at this store are great. Really great customer service. I never felt pressured to buy anything. Friendly and informative. They try to help even when they don't need to. I have to mention Angie here who helped me even though i didn't buy frames here. I had bought frames elsewhere since i couldn't find any that fit my wide Asian face here, but when i got them..I felt so nauseous when wearing them. Angie helped figure out that they didn't measure the PD distance correctly and gave me the right measurements to take back to the original store, all at no cost. It's hard to find that kind of customer service anymore. I have no qualms recommending this place due to the great staff. If they had frames that fit, I would def have bought from here. read more

Mike helped me fix the problem of the frame also helped me adjust the glasses for me. Really like wearing it after his help. Also he gave me a case. Thank you so much Mike!
