Having retired from the retail business it is seldom that I give a five star rating. But Jeff at drop zone deserves six stars. Computer repair is a business that many of us old timers know very little about and can be taken advantage of very easily. Our laptop had a massive heart attack and needed a new hard drive! I was quoted $99 for the new part. When we stopped by to pickup the repaired computer, Jeff explained that the part they received was smaller in the GB and therefore was less money than quoted!! How many businessmen are that honest?? The quality of the service and repair was perfect. If you need computer service, it would be a serious mistake to go anywhere else. read more

I'm a fairly experienced computer user. I have normally built my own computers from scratch and done my own upgrades and repairs. Now when my very first store-bought computer died out of warranty I diagnosed it as being something that wasn't simple or easy to fix. After extensively studying the reviews for many different companies on Yelp I saw that they had many 5-star reviews and I decided that Drop Zone sounded like the best place for finding what was wrong with my computer. Drop Zone diagnosed and repaired my computer quickly and efficiently (motherboard replacement) and got me back up and running fast. Very friendly, very knowledgeable, very good people. They are incredibly patient and explain everything they are doing and give you all the options; I was impressed by that. I feel that the were looking out for my best interests. They are the kind of people you like to work with. I will be recommending them to my friends and relatives. 5 stars. read more

This is Paul, my wife is Stacey. Been meaning to update my review with the New Computer purchase for a while. They helped me choose the right desktop components and touch-screen monitor like champs. It's worked great. Really friendly guys, knowledgeable. Months later, I had a SW licensing question that they helped me address over the phone, very convenient. DZ is my go-to computer resource! read more

I had a MSI GT70 Dominator - 895 Laptop that was accidently damaged. I told Steve at Drop Zone about it and he told me to bring it in. He ordered a replacement LCD display and new bottom case and got it working again for less that $400.00. Steve saved me $800.00 by not having to by a new replacement. Steve and Jeff are fantastic. If your laptop gets damaged, don't feel alone, take it to the 2 Bro's at Drop Zone. read more

I recently asked Steve and Jeff to build me a new machine. They built me one 10 years ago that would still be considered super fast today. But, I want to upgrade some components and decided to just go with an all new machine. As they did 10 years ago they built me a super fast machine. I am so very pleased. Not only do they know what they are doing technically they are also extremely customer focused. Very seldom do you find both of these traits in a person, however they both have strong technical and interpersonal skills. They are both honest and upfront; several times they told me I did not need to spend monies on components that I did not need. I am so very pleased I found them and would recommend them to anyone and everyone that will listen. THANK YOU Steve and Jeff! read more

DropZone is the definition of a great small business. Steve & Jeff are both extremely helpful and will go above and beyond to make your experience rich and as best as possible. I'm currently buying all of my companies laptops/desktops and any other computer needs directly from DropZone. They have stood by me while my guys in the field have terrorized our equipment and have always helped in any way possible!!!!! I'll continue to go to DropZone for all my needs as small businesses like DropZone are hard to come by and I stand by that! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Drop Zone computer. Jeff and Steve are smart, reliable and most of all honest as the day is long. Half the time they wont let me pay them for their time after they take 2 hours to fix my computer! I have been using Drop Zone for a couple of years now and they simply are the best! They will also send someone to your house if you cant bring the computer to them. Thank God I found these guys!! read more

I have patronized this business for over a year purchasing 2 lap-top computers and 1 desk-top PC. All were "reconditioned" and extremely affordable compared to new units offered by Best Buy or other computer retailers. In each case, the computers functioned flawlessly and came pre-installed with current and appropriate software (hence saving me from having to re-purchase this software from Microsoft). Their customer care and follow-up is extremely good and I've found their business practices to be significantly above those of other retailers. read more

Need help with your computer? Well, this is the place to go. They recommended and installed a gaming graphics card and new power supply for my grandsons computer. Even thought it was at Christmas time, they did the job in one day. They explained how to connect the monitors and gave us an adapter that we might need. Computer is running great and my Grandson is very happy which makes me happy! This the third time I have used their services and I recommend you do so as well. read more

I love these guys. They know their stuff and always friendly. I feel safe leaving my computer with them to fix. I will continue to take my computers to them. Happy they are available so I don't have to use Geek Squad and hope they fix my computer right. For me it's worth the drive from Placerville. I know the job will get done right the first time. read more

The best! I had 2 systems built by Drop Zone, one in 2010 and the other in 2015. Both are still going strong. I am a professional video producer and these systems serve me well. I had the second one built, because I needed a more powerful video card for rendering. Both of these systems can multitask without a hiccup. In addition to the great workmanship, these guys are very knowledgeable and friendly too! I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

I'm going to college at Folsom and my computer went down on Wed. and the college is closed on weekends, I have a crunch on English essays with three weeks left, took it in and explained I had to have it for the weekend and they had it ready Friday noon, it works great. They saved my semmester. One time before I was there and also they were fast, friendly and professionly. The prices were reasonable. I highly recommend anybody needing their computer work done to take it to the Drop Zone. Richard G. read more

After dissatisfaction with several other companies, we discovered Drop Zone and are absolutely thrilled that we have found Jeff and Steve who are incredibly knowledgeable, totally professional and really care about their customers as people. Both my wife and I have brought in our computers with severe problems and not only have they solved the problems, but when we come back or call with little things that bother us, they take the time to walk us through a solution and send us on our way with computers that are like new again. Cannot recommend them more highly!! read more

Dropped by the Drop Zone computer company half an hour before close on a Sunday with a laptop that had somehow manage to open itself up revealing its innards! The owner very kindly took an immediate look at it and after looking as dismayed as we were, flipped it over and found where a screw had fallen out (nice job Dell). He was able to find a matching screw and quickly closed up the laptop and handed it back to my, by now, very stressed out teenager. The owner was kind enough not to charge us for the quick repair and I promised we would be back! Very happy with the experience, have felt very ripped off by other computer repairs particularly the one by 7-11 on Folsom Auburn where we have been charged just to be told the device was shot. This is my new "drop zone" for the too many accidents our devices seem to have! Didn't get your name, but thank you! read more

Brothers Steve and Jeff, who own and run this outstanding company, treat everyone like family. I recently had a computer failure in the middle of a busy Saturday. Jeff took the time to help find the problem with my computer, get everything up and running for me again, and charged very little for the extended time he spent. I cannot say enough good things about Drop Zone. I have been coming to them for many years now and they are the ONLY ones I trust to work on my computer. Thanks again Jeff for the wonderful service. read more

These guys are great! Knowledgeable, accommodating, respectful, helpful and nice! I transitioned from corporate America to a small business two years ago, and tried to replace the IT department with the geek squad at Best Buy. It didn't work. A friend referred me to Drop Zone, and I couldn't be happier with them. It gives me great peace of mind to know that I can go there for great service at a reasonable price. read more

Love these guys! They're very knowledgeable, professional, trustworthy, prompt, and their products and services are reasonably priced. I'm very fortunate that they're just half a mile away and in the same shopping center as Safeway, so I just pop in when I need to--no special trip required. I first utilized the services of Jeff and Steve in 2006 when I owned and operated my own business; their responsiveness, technical support, cost, and personal attention was and continues to be OUTSTANDING. I closed my business in 2009; however, I still visit them now and then for any of my issues with computers at home. They are definitely in a class of their own and recommend them to anyone in need of IT service and/or repair for business or home. read more

Absolutely incredible customer service from Drop Zone! My computer kept shutting off, I'm somewhat tech-savvy so I had suspected it was due to an issue with the main fan for the processor and I was dreading the prognosis (let alone the possibility of losing all of my data ) So, I called Drop Zone at noon, dropped my computer off at 4pm, they had diagnosed AND FIXED the issue by 545p SAME DAY SERVICE!!!! Turns out a small piece of metal (from interior case clips) had become loose and lodged into the fan preventing it from spinning. I was only charged my deposit for diagnosing AND they taped the metal pieces to my receipt (very thorough). They even cleaned the inside and outside of my laptop while they had it apart. They were extremely professional and genuinely focused on consumer satisfaction. I highly recommend that you visit Drop Zone (even if only for diagnosis) before you assume your computer is beyond repair. I'm a former employee of one of the largest tech companies in the world and I can say, without a doubt, that Drop Zone is extremely knowledgeable, efficient and all around class act - OUTSTANDING!!! read more
