Nice stop on our way home from Eugene OR. Cute lil town. This place has fresh ingredients and big servings. We definitely brought home leftovers. There is no seating inside but have items for purchase and (downside) only 1 bathroom. Considering this is heavy traffic stop, you will be waiting in line! Nice friendly staff and nice outdoor seating with a great view of the mountains. We didn't get to try any sweets as I couldn't even finish my meal. Staff was friendly. Stopped by here on our way back from Oregon based on a friends recommendation... we're glad we did! Food was amazing and super flavorful. I got the Chipotle bacon bowl and serving was huge! Got my partner the chillantro chicken Sammy with their gluten free bun and you would never be able to tell. It was also super delish! Service was awesome and we got a kick out of how they call their order up's. Restaurant itself is cute... inside is solely where you order and they have plenty of outdoor seating. This is going to become a regular stop for my mother and I whenever we do our annual visit to Shasta Mountain. The Va Va Voom with a veggie patty was so good! Usually I am sceptical of subbing house made veggie patties because they are usually dry and flavorless. Not the case with theirs. A very suitable replacement of a meat patty. To be fair, we only had one thing on the menu. The garlic parmesan fries. We believe the name should changed to something like this: GARLIC with fries and some parmesan, because DAMN, the amount of garlic on these fries could keep vampires out of California entirely. Delicious Burger and Fries! I had the OG Burger with fries at Yak's Shak and it was amazing! I asked for it well-done and it was cooked perfectly--still juicy and full of flavor. The onion strings on the burger added a great crunch and made it extra tasty. The fries were crispy and came with a homemade ranch dip that was perfect for dipping. I'm shocked by all the 5 star reviews. Just spent $74 (not including tip) on 3 burgers with fries and 1 drink. The meat of my burger was so completely raw inside that rendered it inedible. The meat looked like a frozen patty. The bun was slightly stale and the other ingredients were average, at best. The sauces are very thin and runny, making a very messy burger. Service was fast and friendly and the fries were great. The homemade ranch was good. Given the cost to quality ratio Yak's Shack offers, I personally would not return. read more

My salad had what seemed like a whole onion on it (I like onion but that was overkill). Hubby ordered burger with no onion and had long conversation with person taking order about onions. Tables were not wiped down and seemed very dirty (self serf concept but did not see any disinfectant or wipes). Soda had no carbonation (brought up to person working behind counter). Very disappointing experience since we live Yaks off the 5 so much. 2 adults and 2 kids came to $97: hamburger meal (adult), hamburger meal with fries (kid), grilled cheese with fries (kid), salad (adult), 2 lemon ades, 2 non carbonated soda. Let me start by saying I have never seen a salad so big in my life. The picture does not do it justice and I think the it would've been enough food for two of us. The greens were super crisp and something in the salad had a little kick to it. Overall great salad and will make great leftovers hopefully. The pastrami was good, maybe a little on the salty side, but that's personal preference. The fries were good, small, no good long ones. They went well with the homemade? ketchup. The ketchup itself was very bright and tangy and did not taste anything like a store bought brand. Lava bowl was pretty solid, very saucy rice. Definitely has that kick and lives up to its name, but the greens on top helped mellow it out and add texture. Lots of outdoor seating and food came out very fast. After a morning at Lake Shasta Caverns and a little stop to get a good view of Mt. Shasta, we came to Yaks Shack for lunch. My bf chose this place and boy am I glad he did. This place will remain in my dreams until I ever get the chance to come back up here again. We ordered a "Make Me Want to Cry Garlic Obsession" burger with the famous garlic parmesan fries upgrade. The name ain't far from the truth. Now, you have to be an absolute garlic lover for this burger. There ain't no such thing as too much garlic for me, but even I have to admit, this burger comes with a LOT of garlic flavor, so keep that in mind. The burger was juicy and garlic-y. The buns had that crisp on the inner side. There were a lot of elements to the burger that just made it come together well. Honestly, I could even say that this might be the best burger I've ever had, but I haven't had many gourmet burgers in my lifetime to remember all of them. I can say with certainty though that the garlic fries are absolutely THE BEST garlic fries I've ever had. Again, just so garlic-y, cheesy, and mouthwatering. They also don't skimp out on this and give you plentiful. Just thinking about it really makes me want to cry because there is no Yaks Shack in the Bay Area for me to eat at anytime soon :'( The ordering system was really creative and fun. They give you a "name" that they call out when your order is ready, and these are really fun names like "Sasquatch", "Man of my Dreams", "Bigfoot", etc. Their playlist also had a nice song selection. There was a handful of tables outside so we were able to find one while waiting for our food. It was just a really fun and nice vibe here. There's also a view of Mt. Shasta which is a bonus. Best be sure that I will be badgering my family and friends whenever, if ever, we come to this area to stop by this place so I can get me some garlic fries and a garlic burger. Loved this place. The bagel was so good. It did make me wonder what the definition of a bagel was because it was unlike any bagel I've ever tried. Not only did it not have a hole in it, but it had a different softer texture. I liked it better honestly. Really great, balanced flavors, and it tasted fresh. I got a bowl of soul and it was tasty too. But I think I'd ask for it a bit less sweet next time. Service was friendly and you order at the counter. Plenty of seating outside, but we came in the winter and it was pretty wet with the morning melting snow and frost. AMAZING! This restaurant has a long line for a reason, but the wait is definitely worth it. You get in line to order and they assign you a funny/cute name for you to pick up your order at the back window. I got the Hot Momma sandwich and my boyfriend got the Lassen Assassin wrap. Both were super filling and delicious. Quite greasy and heavy but this is definitely worth a cheat meal. The sauces were so flavorful and they pack a lot in their sandwiches. The Strawberry Fields smoothie was also delicious, you can tell they use real fruit and it mixed so well with the creamy nonfat yogurt. Very refreshing and paired well to cut the grease from the sandwich. I'd love to come back to try their lunch menu, their burgers look fire. read more

Meh. Came here for a sweet treat since many things close early in this town. It seemed to be the only option for something sweet and cooling. The sign had ice cream on a cone pictured but soon we found they do not have ice cream nor cones. They serve frozen yogurt in a few flavors and a variety of toppings. The cookie dough bites I got in my vanilla froyo were a strange darker brown color, looked like they were sitting out and old. After tasting them, I'd guess old. Very underwhelmed by the only dessert place within the strip. I threw half of it out, just wasn't hitting the spot at all. read more
