The cafe mocha was good and hot just the way I like it. The service was very efficient and friendly.

After my first visit, I knew I had to bring someone else here to try it, and this time we decided to try some of their food. We got the Sohn Breakfast Sandwich and Galbi Patty Melt to share, and let me tell you, we absolutely finished everything within 5 minutes. It was that good. I usually don't even like sandwiches that much, but these were honestly so enjoyable that I didn't mind at all. Both were flavorful, filling, and had such a good balance of textures that made every bite satisfying. Of course, we had to get the Sohn Signature Matcha Cream Top again because it's one of my favorites. The cream top is so smooth and pairs really well with the matcha without being overly sweet. We also tried the Banana Matcha Oat Milk Latte, and I was actually surprised by how much I liked it. I usually don't like banana-flavored things, but this was one of the few banana drinks that I didn't mind. The banana flavor wasn't too overpowering, and it blended nicely with the matcha and oat milk. I'm really glad I came back and got to try more of their menu. Sohn is definitely becoming one of those places I keep wanting to bring people to because there's always something new to try.

We went to the second floor and wow, the space was huge. I liked that each person could order and pay on their own and everything would be delivered to the table. The second floor was full of people in laptops and headphones, so I'm guessing there's a lot of remote working going on. I had the signature cream top matcha and a galbi pati melt. I'm not a usual fan of kimchi, but honestly, this was mouth watering, would 10/10 recommend. The bread itself was delicious. Flaky and soft. The matcha wasn't out of this world, I give it a basic 6/10. The Melona Matcha Latte was so much better. So was the Melona Soda. Would so come back since they also host classes and have some pretty great food.

It was a vibe. My energy was kept up with one of their delicious hot matcha cappuccinos! Now for the food...I ordered their regular breakfast sandwich, but there was nothing regular about it. I love that they used a pandesal (Filipino bread) for the sandwich bun! And the sauce!! The sauce gave it incredibly unique flavor that had me stuffing my face. I tried a bite of their sausage biscuit smash and was equally impressed! It was like a Sausage McMuffin, but 10x better. I would definitely come back and grab some of their sweet treats to go too! Also, would definitely recommend this spot to friends looking to grab some brunch.

It has the perfect balance of sweetness with just a hint of savory. The coconut flavor is subtle. The kaya bun had a similar coconut pandan filling and was also delicious, though I still preferred the kaya toast. We also tried the croissant and gyeranbbang, both of which were good. I have also had their Mt. Tam Basque cheesecake before, which is incredibly rich and decadent. It is perfect for enjoying a few bites at a time, though it is a bit too heavy for me to finish in one sitting. The yuzu americano drink was not my favorite pairing. It tasted carbonated and sour, which I guess true to the description, but it just was not for me! Friendly service! Convenient to place online orders through their website. Street parking only.

I've…read moreheard this place has one of the best katsu sando around and as a lover of Katsu, I couldn't skip it. There's some good places in SF like Cafe Okawari. But Katsu is really becoming the new hype of the day for Japanese food, following the Sushi, Ramen, Japanese Curry, Katsu trend. So I came in with a critical view. I feel like Yoshoku in general may be next but I yet again digress. The box sandwich came in a cute little box. The inside was packed so I couldn't get a chance to fully appreciate the cafe, but the service was nice though the pay line may have moved slower than hoped. I'll say this. This is "the" best katsu sando in the bay. The katsu is crispy, but little on the softer side. But this hardness matches perfectly with the absolutely tender, soft, juicy pork wrapped inside. I'm looking at the menu again and it all makes sense. The pork has been in shio koji, making the meat ever so tender while adding the subtle but complicated marinated flavor. The cabbage is plenty, but not over packed to take away from the main Katsu flavor. What really perfects it for me, was not only the sweet and savory katsu sauce, but the mayo with dash of I think a karashi mustard. That slight tingle, the perfect kick gives a powerful awakening of flavor that really sets the it apart. This is art, an artisan. Culinary art is the refuge no raging rampant AI slop "art" can ever hope to touch. Until the day we get some cyborg implant to our brain into gustatory, olfactory functions. Even then, I don't think any tasteless tech bro are hopeless to create anything unique or beautiful.

The inside has nice lighting and both booth and chair seating to pick from and music that's not overly loud to allow work and catching up with friends. Wait time: Not a long wait time early in the morning between time of ordering and receiving your drink. If you are taking it to go there is an outdoor pick up window attached to the outside of the store for convenience and to prevent cluttering inside. Service: Friendly staff and helpful with suggestions on the menu for both drinks and food. Drinks: Ginger Matcha Latte: The strong matcha and spicy ginger flavor paired well with the sweetness of the Oat Milk creating a balanced flavor. Drink size was fair based on other matcha shops. Overall, a nice little tea shop to pick out a good quality matcha beverage, light Japanese style breakfast / brunch, or a sweet treat. Clean and quiet ambience inside with friendly staff.

If you're going on a weekend, I'd suggest getting there early as there is not a lot of seating. I had the butcher's steak sandwich and my husband had a soup (cannot remember which one). Their bread really stood out to me, both the type my sandwich was on and the slices that were served as sides. These items were delicious. Two pieces of sliced bread came with the beef stroganoff entree. I did not cared for it. Bread was too hard. In addition to the three items mentioned, I also liked their borscht soup. I have tried many menu items but did not cared too much for the rest. This place is very small. There is barely enough room to stand inside while waiting to place your order at the counter. I would recommend ordering ahead online; then pick it up to go. There is a small outdoor sidewalk seating area for dining in. Dogs are welcome. You place your order at the counter and someone will bring your food to your table. There is no parking lot for the restaurant. There is only street parking. The restaurant is fairly close to Golden Gate Park (walking distance).
