Our 4th visit in as many months here proved disappointing. The first 3 times were excellent as I explained in my last review. But last night all of my husband's and my sides were cold. They did immediately reheat them but I would have thought in August, not February, they would get it right the first time. My rack of lamb was also very sinewy that my sister said was a result of how they butchered it. They did also offer a free dessert but we declined. I've been here a couple times and the service at the bar is always great. Bartender Je really makes sure to take care of his customers and his drinks are the best. They have dessert drinks separate from the drink menu so make sure to ask for the dessert menu if you're in the mood for a sweet unique drink. Drift is also a very clean restaurant with nautical theming. It's at the Opal Grand Resort right on Ocean Blvd so it's a nice spot to stop for a drink or some food before or after a beach day. read more

Ordered a hamburger medium. Came out rare and the middle was raw. Tried to eat it. Ate a third of it. After 15 minutes the server showed up to ask about the meal. I told her the meal was inedible.She asked what she could do. I'd lost my appetite and had the server take it away. My only regret was not taking a picture of it. The Food was Amazing ! The Service was especially Amazing !! The BAR and Restaurant (especially the BAR) was really COOL and has a most pleasant ambiance! (Killer place for a first date etc. and beyond) HOWEVER the drinks are "SUB PAR" at best!!! This needs to be fixed ASAP or you are going to loose patronage... This is a RESORT - the DRINKS need to be HIGH LEVEL and on Par with the pricing $$$! We had 3 drinks - Old Fashioned Bloody Mary Samoa Ok so I hope management is listening : These drinks were not good, like at all, I had to instruct the waiter to inform the bartender how to make the drinks better??? Consider smoking the old fashioned that might help, and maybe some artisan ICE... And as far as your bloody mary goes, don't put so much Lime in it and add a little heat will ya? It was terrible, even the second time! I would do a whole EVALUATION and PROCESS REVIEW of the ENTIRE Drink Menu and REVAMP it!!! (It is NOT that hard of an endeavor) trust me... Had a very special time showering my daughter with love today before her wedding. I will start with the amazing valet staff that welcomed us and went above and beyond to help me upon arrival with my handicapped mom and some things to bring from car to the room where we were to set up. Special shout out to a particular you man named Austin who helped us in while being so kind and friendly with my mom and made her feel special. That speaks volumes for me. Moving further, I can't say enough about the friendly staff who helped me put on the most beautiful wedding shower for my daughter. The perfect beach restaurant !!! It's fancy pretty and the food is fantastic. The interior design is impeccable such a fun and open space we all love to dine at! The food is so good and the menu is a pretty versatile one with something for everyone. The cesar salad was so good with the toasted capers and the mussels were my favorite. I ordered what was described under the heading "Stone-fried Fatbread" as a dish with wild mushrooms, shaved cheese, etc. It was in reality a pizza, which I would have never ordered. For an upscale restaurant the $50/per person Sunday breakfast brunch was such a disappointment from the food to the service. What bothered me was not spending the money but no value or overall enjoyable experience. We were a party of 12 and had the worst server. We went for the ambient of Drift which is beautiful but even after specific requesting the pastry basket the server delayed it until the middle of the meal. I started with the fruit kabobs which was fruit on a stick on a plate. The presentation was of looked like from a culinary student. The server didn't offer anything else to drink like tea, coffee or OJ. We decided to go to the butcher block and that was limited but nicely presented. The turkey was excellent with the gravy The pancake was not an elaborate stack, just a single boring pancake. IHOP does a better job. The most enjoyable part was the gentleman playing the saxophone and relaxing on the patio Skip going to the Drift for breakfast but enjoy a Sunday morning mimosa on the patio. read more

Mike was our server & he steered us to the right choices for us. Every time I try to stay away from carbs I fail. The skillet focaccia was a good reason to give in. I've never heard of wild blueberry butter but it sure works for me and so did the Parmesan Fonduta. Wow! I tried not to hog all of the Ai tuna poke but I failed miserably. The local mango really made it a hit too. Seafood seafood. Wild caught salmon, fresh grouper & coastal shellfish stew. We were so full but of course we couldn't turn down dessert & after dinner drinks. The restaurant is absolutely stunning. I wish I could have them decorate our house! This restaurant has newly opened only one month they had a great article in the Sun Sentinel but before that I made reservations we went tonight I was very happy that we did the interior is beautiful there's outdoor and indoor seating the food is reasonably priced and good Jake our waiter was an excellent waiter he was very helpful and attentive. I had a halloumi salad ( which not many restaurants have or make right) This one was perfect Also had a salmon salad which was very nicely season the chicken tagliatell great large portion you can get half portions the whole menu is nicely selecions you can have anything from an entrée to a salad to a sandwich all day dining very nice bar area valet parking $10 if you're eating at the restaurant which is quite reasonable for Atlantic Avenue all I could say is that I think it's going to get crowded very quickly !! STINKS!!!!!! Service terrible and inattentive, never got our entree. We saw the waiter one time after we ordered. Spent 2 hours there and we were never served our entree. We decided to skip it at that point and leave. Combining interesting ingredients is wonderful IF they taste good- food not tasting good. No balancing of savory, sweet, salty and acid at all. They are pretentious but don't follow through with the "fancy" in any way. It was a special birthday dinner that fell way below flat. Go for a drink then go elsewhere for your meal. read more

My wife chose Drift for our date night. We've never been and were in the mood to try something new. The restaurant is within a hotel very close to the beach. The ambience and décor were very nice. Our server was nice and very helpful. For apps, I had the Margherita flatbread, and my wife had the Ahi Tuna Poke. The flatbread isn't a flatbread, it's more like focaccia bread with tomato sauce and store-bought shredded cheese on top. The poke was ok but could have been a lot better. For the main course I had the short ribs, and my wife had the grouper. The flavors for my dish were there, but the short rib was a little dry and the polenta a little dense. I tried the grouper, and it was moist and tasted good. For dessert we had the Crema Catalonia and the Key Lime bar. I'm not a dessert guy, but they both seemed good. My wife preferred the key lime bar. Overall, the experience was good, but the food missed the mark. read more

Recently had dinner at Drift while spending the night in Delray. We made a reservation and informed the restaurant at that time that we would be dining with a small service dog in a stroller. The reservation was for outdoors. It was VERY hot that evening so I turned to my husband as we entered and asked him if he would rather dine indoors. The woman behind the front desk said we could not dine indoors with our dog (wearing a service dog harness and identifying tag). I informed her that she was a service dog at which point she asked me what the service was that our dog performed. I told her she was not legally entitled to ask us that question (she said she was) and that I did not feel comfortable discussing it with her. Her demeanor was unpleasant. Rather than make a scene, we decided to eat outside after all. The young man who showed us to our table was very understanding as was our service person. If that had not been the case we would have left. We will not be dining there again, nor will we recommend Drift to any of our friends. read more
