I've driven by Windy City Pizza so many times I've lost count... on my way to the Village or otherwise. I'm not a big fan of Chicago-style pizza, so I was never particularly tempted to stop. But after hearing some rumblings about their award-winning wings, I finally decided to pull over as I approached one evening... and I'm so glad I did. I wasn't expecting what I found when I walked in solo around 8:30 PM. A table of eight old-timers was finishing their meal and having a great time, a young couple sat at another table... all in this small room where time seems to stand still. As I looked around at the Chicago memorabilia, Wrigley references, wing awards, tons of old Illinois license plates... I was already hooked. I ordered their award-winning wings and, yes, they were very good (8.5). Of course, I also had to try some pizza, so I went with a small Thin Crust Chicago Pepperoni Pizza (8.0). It reminded me of a bar pizza, cut into small squares with plenty of good pepperoni. It's not my favorite style of pizza, but I have to admit... it was very tasty and surprisingly hard to stop eating. "Just one more... they're small." Since I'd ordered way too much food, most of it came home with me. Both the wings and pizza heated up beautifully the next day. Service from my waitress was fantastic... personable, friendly, and efficient. The two chefs working that evening also had a great attitude. Things quieted down after the large group left, but there was a steady stream of pickup orders from what were obviously regulars. There's clearly a loyal following here... and with good reason. Love Windy City for pizza! Have gone there for 4 years. Great pizza. Place is dirty. One afternoon a mechanic was pulling down a panel from the ceiling to clean a filter. This should be done while when closed. Not sure what happened! We need to move on. We would do pickup but that doesn't mean "clean"! read more

We walked in a down pour to get pizza, hoping it was worth it and it was! Pizza was very good. The staff is so friendly and the owner feeds the needy citizens who stop in, very heartwarming. Well, I guess you can tell I'm not from Chicago. I thought this was going to be a deep dish experience. Glancing too quickly at the photos might lead you to believe that as well. No, this is thin pizza served in a unique dish that allows the baking of the crust to be perfect. The Windy City Sausage - Loaded with cheese & sausage; a Chicago favorite! - was amazing. I just wish I did not live so far away! Service is quick and simple as the place is not that large. Maybe a half dozen tables inside and when you walk in you feel like you left Florida and entered Illinois. I will be back whenever I am close enough again! read more

Windy City Pizza is one of my favorite pizza places in South Florida. I live in Fort Lauderdale and make the 25 mile drive one way just to have the Midwest Pizza that I Iove. Just think how many New York pizza joints I pass to get the Windy City Pizza which is great every time. The drive is well worth it. I just love the edge to edge tavern style pizza cut in squares just the way I grew up eating. I have never been to Chicago to experience the thin crust Chicago pizza but I'm pretty sure Windy City Pizza is right there. BTW I'm from Ohio and Midwest pizza is the Best! read more

Chicago transplant here and this would be a top place back home. Not sure if there is a better or more authentic Chicago thin crust in the state of Florida. While vacationing and it was National Pizza Day, I was so happy to find authentic Chicago style pizza. They are so authentic that it's actually tavern style! We were able to get a real Italian Beef which melted in our mouths like it's suppose to. My taste buds were so happy to go here and celebrate. We were tired after a long day at the beach and playing tennis and going to the Delray Beach Open so wanted to order in pizza and watch a movie. Windy City Pizza had high ratings on Yelp and was just a few blocks away. We ordered a pizza with sausage and mushrooms and a chicken caesar salad. The pizza arrived with pepperoni as well, which was a bonus for me, but not as enjoyable for one of my friends who does not prefer pepperoni. The crust was definitely thin as it was advertised. The chicken caesar was a pretty standard one, although interesting that the chicken came on the side in a separate to go styrofoam (boo styrofoam) container. Overall a solid choice. read more

This place is a fantastic spot for a nice and easy lunch. The inside had a feeling similar to a cozy cabin and the service was quick and wonderful because our server Shelly was so kind. A WONDERFUL family-owned establishment in downtown Delray Beach, just a block from the Delray Beach Tennis Center. Windy City Pizza has been serving up Chicago delicacies to the Delray Bech community for some 25 years. The family is lovely and service is wonderful. While a New York Slice will always hold a special place in my heart, I genuinely like most varieties of pizza. But that is not to say that all pizza is 'good'. Happy to say that Windy City makes an incredible Chicago thin-crust. My go-to is the Windy City Sausage, and they certainly do not skimp out on the sausage! You cannot purchase pizza by the slice here, but I dare you to order a thin crust and not finish it (okay, you may need another person, but it is totally doable). I would be remiss not to mention their Italian Beef sandwich. I hadn't had one of these in years, and this reminded me why I really want to get back to Chicago one of these days. Lots of very thinly sliced top round that is soaked in au jus and then topped with giardiniera and sweet green peppers. It is a 10 - 20 napkin endeavor, but nothing wrong with that! read more

I was raised in the Windy City and enjoyed the delicious pizza there for 27 glorious years. I can absolutely put my stamp on this place. The best pizza spot I've found on this side of FL. Hands down. I ordered ham and pineapple pizza (Hawaiian pizza with Valentina or Tapatio hot sauce never disappoints) and I was preparing for average pizza. When I saw they cut the pizza in squares I started to believe that maybe this place is the real deal. After trying it, there's no doubt. This is Chicago-style neighborhood pizza. They knocked this one out of the park. The spot is also conveniently located a few minutes off of the expressway. Inside the spot had a good vibe. The ladies provided fast service. I paid in advance (they accept Apple Pay) and was in and out in a minute. They didn't have the drink I was looking for (Mexican Coca Cola) but had other choices. Regardless, this is a 5-star pizza place. Florida is lucky to have it and I'm even luckier to live nearby. read more
