First time here and I will say, I am excited to go back. It's a rather large restaurant once you get inside. I had no idea it was as big as it is. It even has two bar areas! We sat in the back and the Bengals game was on! It has the same vibe as a sports bar like Buffalo Wild Wings. I went with something off the menu out of my norm, but was excited. I just kept going back and fourth to it and finally took the plunge. I ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl which included sushi rice, fried asparagus, cucumber, carrot, avocado, sushi sauce, Sriracha, sesame seeds. It was so delicious and I would come back to order again! The sticky rice paired so well with the sauce and the chicken and the crunch that came and went throughout the bowl was spaced perfectly. I would recommend this to someone who is wanting to try something new and enjoys teriyaki chicken. I will touch on the fried pickles that we got as an appetizer and say I've had better. I love all fried pickles but this was just your average if you ask me. I was excited to try the ranch that it came with, but it was heavily flavored with fresh dill in it. Drake's is very good. Let me start by saying if you like Sushi, it's really good here. The Chicago Roll is my all time favorite, no matter where I go. We also ordered Fish tacos, and the fish was crispy and delicious The only reason for the 4 star instead of a 5 star is the customer service. It's not bad, we have always been treated ok, but its not outstanding. To get a 5 the way you are treated has to be a "wow" as well. read more

My first time coming to drakes I noticed a quality in their wasabi and ginger that seemed to be of better quality than I was use to. That has brought me back a few months in a row to try their roll of the month, because their sushi selection is very limited. Every time I come to order the special roll it is either completely missing an item or has such a small amount is unnoticeable. The first time it was Robison, the next time it was completely missing a fish that was suppose to be inside the roll and dressed wrong. I don't know why I keep subjecting myself to this, maybe this time because I bought a gift card to get a cute penguin for Christmas. The roll looks nothing like they advertise. I wish I would have taken a picture before I dug in. The wasabi mayonnaise was squiggled all over the place and very unevenly distributed. The roll was sitting in front of me with 30 seconds of ordering it, that was concerning. Also, I don't think there was anything but salmon in it and it was suppose to have 3 fish in it. The picture shows what looks like raw tuna, mine was so cooked the salmon was well done. It was still warm, even though it just magically appeared as soon as I ordered. The way it was cut looked like they used a chop stick, it was an uneven mess and the tempura was coating the inside of the roll, it almost looked like it was smashed. I didn't complain like I have the last few times to get it fixed because I know what to expect at this point. I've been meaning to visit here for some time and it finally happened because I was visiting friends in the area who love this place. We easily got a table for five around 11:30a on a Sunday. We sat at a high top, for which they have extra tall high chairs - I'd never seen one like that before! My friend raves about the Sriracha Wings, so we started off with an order of those to share. And I'm so glad we did because I loved them and never would've ordered them on my own because I would've assumed they were too spicy for my tastes. But they were simply really flavorful and seasoned similarly to a BBQ rub in my opinion. Also, dipping them in a delicious ranch or bleu cheese sauce can only make things better! The rest of our meal was nice, but honestly the wings stole the show! I got a Bleu Cheeseburger with bacon and a side of sweet potato waffle fries. The burger is huge because of being in the smashed style, which I do quite enjoy! And I'm always a sucker for waffle fries, especially sweet potatoes! My hubby ordered the Crunchy TX roll to share with everyone and the Poke Bowl. The roll was fine, but hubby felt the wasabi mayo and the sriracha in the poke made it hot enough that it was hard to simply enjoy. I'd love to go back for the wings and more appetizers. Great atmosphere and decorations throughout but very noisy and small tables. The beer and apps were good but messed up an order twice! Even the "do over" was wrong. Kinda put a damper on the fun when one of our party didn't get to eat. Not much done other than a sorry and took it off the bill. Oh well. We love Drake's! The food is always top notch and the staff is always friendly. We love sitting at the front bar and having Alison wait on us. She's super friendly and very attentive. My husband loves the Fried Bologna Sandwich, and my go to is usually the Buffalo Chicken Minis, with Sweet Potato Waffle Fries. Every Wednesday is "Whiskey Wednesdays" with select $5 and $6 pours of bourbons. If you haven't been to Drake's your missing out! read more

My wife watched her sit and talk to other waitresses, never got a refill and waited 20 minutes after finishing our food for our ticket. This is a classic burger spot! Definitely a break from the norm - tastes like a burger you would get at a family BBQ, which is a good thing!! The scenery was very sports bar with an outside vibe due to the wide opening windows. The food was delivered promptly and hot! The service was great. I was trying to gauge freshness. I opted for the drakes yum yum roll and Mardi party. The drakes yum yum has crawfish which I figured, geographically would be the freshest. It was tasty. Overall this is a highly Americanized sushi chain. Do not come here for authentic Japanese food, you will be disappointed. Hadn't been to Drakes in a while. Walked and first thing I noticed was it was extremely warm as they had garage doors open. Went to back bar where it was a little cooler. Ordered a couple of beers and pretzels. Beer was cold, pretzels nothing special. For meal, wife ordered a salad. I ordered fish minis. Couple more beers. Food was middle of the road. There was a beer being tapped with a special glass included called the 'Big Willie Mac' at 6:00 pm. I was super excited to try it and get the sweet much along with it. I drove from Tri-County in Cincinnati to Florence, Ky to make this tapping. I get there at about 5:45 and get my seat at the bar. I'm at the bar and it's busy which I expected because this is a big beer. Aged in Makers Mark Private Select Barrels in Rhinegeist so it's big if you like craft beer and bourbon. I'm sitting waiting on a bartender. He comes up to me and ask if he may help me. Over a sea of noise I say, "I'm here for the special beer. The tapping." He says, "Ooohhh! Sorry but we just ran out of that." It's only 5:50 at this point!!! I'm like wtf?! It shouldn't even be tapped yet and the event said it was being tapped at 6. He gave me the 'Big Willy' instead without the glass because they'd been given out prior to me arriving. I was kind of pissed. Outside of this experience, the food has been ok and the drinks ok as well. Nothing to rave about really and I came here for burger week last year and was still like "meh". Drakes is delicious! You can pretty much get anything on the menu and won't be disappointed. Plus, for sushi lovers, I've got a family member that says their sushi is pretty good (personally I'm not a fan of sushi). On top of the food, Drakes has a pretty nice feeling to it. Definitely more of a sports bar feel when you walk in and see the large bar with multiple TV's, but has a great family feel once you're sat down and eating dinner. Usually it's first come first serve as far as seating goes, but they're pretty spacious. We usually have a group of 8+ and find a table with no problems. They also have a small patio right outside some big garage doors that has some tables at which is fantastic on a cool summer night! It's a little pricy, but nothing too out of the normal compared to the rest of Florence. I highly recommend Drakes! read more

I didn't really know what to expect from the food here, but my sister talked about how good the crab rangoon sushi roll is, so I finally went to check it out. For a place with a mostly bar atmosphere, the food is surprisingly really good! Both the philly roll and crab rangoon were delicious. I also tried the chips and dip appetizer which comes with salsa, guacamole and refried bean and everything was fresh, with the chips warm and crisp. The restaurant has sushi bar- my friends ordered several sushi which according to them were pretty good. I got chicken wings which was good portion and properly good per my liking. Fish taco came in big portion- it can serve two, the fish and sides were delicious. Our server was very attentive and nice, the wait for the good is average, maybe a little longer considering it's a weekday and the place was not very busy. I recommend this place and I will definitely go back again. I heard the place has a dj and dancing on Fridays and Saturdays. I go to Drake's on a fairly regular basis for lunch as it isn't too far from where I work. I have also been there for dinner a few times as well. They are really unique in they way that they feature burgers, beer and sushi. Kind of an odd mix but it works. The menu is small but has something for everyone. I find the pricing to be slightly high but not so much that I wouldn't return. I have had a wide variety of their foods (fried pickles, nachos, buffalo bites, salads, burger, grilled chicken, sushi, etc) and find that the portion sizes are really good and it has all been tasty. Service has been mixed depending on the time of day. Seems like they struggle at night; slow drink and food service. The venue is a high end sports bar. They have two large bar areas. Most of the seating are high top tables or bench like tables. Definitely worth a visit when you are in the area and are looking for a casual place to grab a good meal. read more

Surprisingly good for a place that serves both burgers and sushi. There is a traditional sushi menu, a house sushi me u, and various bar food. Everyone was happy with their food. I got the spicy salmon roll and it was very good. I also tried a bite of the seaweed salad, which was great and had a very nice taste of sesame oil. This place is pretty cool. Drake's offers family dining during the day and transforms into a pretty fun bar at night. During the summer the garage doors in front open to have an awesome open air dining experience for people eating in the front room. In the cooler months don't be surprised to smell the great smell of the fireplace before you enter the front door. With a bar in both rooms Drake's is a pretty good place to get a drink and to hang out with friends. The fireplace and couches offer a cute and snugglie place to get a little closer. The sushi at Drake's is by far the best in Florence. I love the spicy tuna roll, the crab rangoon roll, and the midorki roll. At my last visit I had a seaweed salad and it was delicious! I stole a bite of my Mom's California chicken sandwich and I have to say that will be my next choice when I go back. The salads are all delicious. Okay okay okay I like everything :). We had just come from a river wedding full of hot 20 something young people dancing to 90's hip hop. We old so we left around 9pm. My wife wanted a burger and whiskey before we went home to Netflix and chill - like for real watch Netflix. I went to Drake's on a Friday night with some friends. It's a sports bar that has burgers and sushi. That seems like an odd combination to me. I decided to take a chance and get the veggie sushi roll. It was decent, small rolls that tasted okay. I've had better. I also got the black bean burger with a side of broccoli. I should have asked for no butter on the broccoli because it was absolutely drowning in it. The bean burger was one I could have bought at Kroger and made myself at home. Nothing to write home about. The service was seriously horrible. Our waitress was very inattentive. We had to try to flag her down for drink orders or for refills. We kept waiting and waiting for our bills at the end of the night. Finally we spied her behind the bar rolling silverware. One of our party went over and asked her for our bills. I definitely don't have any plans to return to Drake's and can't say that I would recommend it. There are plenty of better options around. read more
