I have managed more than a dozen of rental properties and plumbing issue often becomes as one of major services among all. Never tried Drain Control before till today. Since we have had a preferred vendor to work with in the past, unfortunately, my vendor got a flat tire this afternoon on the way to our place. I had a blocked sewer which also had roots growing and so I called a couple of companies who looked at it and recommended that I replace the entire sewage pipe costing $10K+ since the roots were blocking. They also had a hydrojet option which seemed expensive but more than that, it seemed like they wanted to do it to get me to the bigger pipe replacement in a year . I called Kim after reading the yelp reviews and doing some research online. And Kim did not disappoint! He came on time, used hydrojet as well to clean it out and after cleaning recommended effective ways to keep the sewage pipe clean so that I could go on for a few years. Kim was cheaper than others because he runs his own business. But even if Kim was the same cost, just his professionalism, what he did and his desire to keep the pipe unblocked for years means I would still call Kim! Totally recommend Kim to everyone read more

I contacted Kim this morning about a plugged main drain. He quoted me a price on the phone and arranged a time with me and showed up on time (early even). He used a camera that showed me the problem, and used high pressured water to unplug the main. He was able to accomplish what several other plumbers couldn't do and for a very reasonable price. He reviewed by leaking situation, and advisee me to consult a Leak Detector since he could not locate the leaking which maybe inside the exterior stucco wall due to my re-plumbing in my house. I contacted Drain Control through The Request a Quote feature on Yelp. Kim responded within 20 minutes which was super fast compared to most companies that won't return my messages. Kim came out the next day and took a look at my sewer main in which a section of it had become corroded. He assessed the job and offered a reasonable price to fix and replace cast iron with ABS. Kim fixed it quickly but did it extremely well with clean joints and even added a clean out cap which we didn't have before. Upon finishing the job he noticed the kitchen drain that ran into that new ABS sewer line sounded clogged. He recognized this by tapping the pipe and noticing it wasn't sounding hollow. He pulled off the end cap and the whole pipe was covered in 2" of sludge. He said because there was no grade on the drain, it accumulated waste. He offered a really reasonable price to fix it and came out the next day. Results were amazing and it felt so good to have ABS everywhere and no chance of clogs. Additionally we got a camera inspection of our sewer line to the street. His camera was very hi def and we could see a lot of detail. At a certain section there was a huge tree root blockage he pointed out to me. We agreed to use his hydro jet which he charged a reasonable price for to clean it and the whole line out. After that work he showed me the cleaned out sewer line with his camera and the roots were completely gone in addition to some other sections that had small growth. He mentioned this should keep blockages away for a long time. Overall I loved Kim's work ethic and honesty as well as how quick and detailed he was. There was a leak underneath our kitchen sink. Through word of mouth, I gave Drain Control a call on Sunday. Kim picked up and said he would be at our place at 1:00pm. He showed up 5 minutes early, diagnosed the problem and gave us a fair quote. He started by covering the area he was going to work in, then gently placed his tools and materials there. He replaced the cracked pipe under my kitchen sink, performed numerous tests and cleaned the area thoroughly. Kim was very professional, honest and meticulous. He is very good at what he does. Kim is highly recommended! We had a "smell". PG&E came out, no leak. He suggested sewer issues. I read the reviews on Drain Control and gave Kim a call. He offered some advise over the phone and we tried one thing that didn't work to remove the smell. We called back and he was able to come out next day. We were expecting a sewer issue but as soon as he opened the basement door he know immediately what is was. Dead critter! Pg&e searched the basement but found nothing. Well, Kim braved the toxic fumes and down he went. Within about a minute he had to come up and run to a patch of dirt in the back yard. He was gagging so bad. Well, he went to his truck and got a mask and some other tools and began. Once again he was up and out rushing to the patch of dirt, gagging all the way. He said he found it. He removed it which he had to cut a step from a wooden ladder it was wedged in. So needless to say Kim is awesome! Not even his "kind" of job, but was up for the challenge. Kim is my new guy! He totally set me up. I had a drain clog between the sink to the main line. Kim gave me a very reasonable quote and arrived a early for the appointment. He unclogged the drain quickly. We then agreed on a very fair price for Kim to use his camera to show me the pipe. Turns out my old galvanized pipe has corrosion severely choking the pipe (down to 5%). Kim also gave me a very fair quote to replace it. I was so happy with Kim's skill and equipment that I asked me to use his larger camera to find out why my main line from the house to the city sewer gets clogged/backup sometimes. We agreed on a very fair price and he used his big camera and showed me a monster set of roots. We talked for awhile about hydro blast versus digging up and replacing the pipes. We agreed to use the hydro blast the next evening. Kim arrived early again and spent nearly 2 hours fixing the problem. He had both the camera and the hydro blast down the pipe enabling us to see the before and after video for each section w/roots. He ended up pulverizing 5 different sections of roots. Awesome. He guarantees I'll be clog free for a year and we both expect I'll be OK for at least 5 years. read more
