Regular size bowl + beef with black pepper sauce + cabbage, bean curd strips, and shredded potatoes

One of my weekday go-to spots for a quick and healthy lunch. There are only a few seats so it's more like a takeout restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful when you need help deciding what to get. I love that you can build your own bowl, and choose 3 sides to go with your protein, and not to mention they all taste great! I also get brown rice instead of white rice to feel extra healthy :)

Love this place so far. So far I've had two tofu bowls with different toppings and sauces. I like that it's easy to build a bowl with lots of vegetables. The sauces and toppings give you interesting flavours, and the tofu in the sauce is so tasty. I had steamed noodles as my base this last time, and they take a while to make but they were nice and chewy when cooked fresh. The portion size is filling, so it's good value for the price with this quality. The staff is very nice, they're very patient with any questions about the menu. The space is small and only has a few seats at the counter, so it's more popular for takeout. I was comfortable eating in both times, though. Everything looks pretty clean.

Been meaning to try this place everytime I'm in Vancouver. Finally gotta try this on TGTG and have been meaning to try it but the pickup was always too late for my early morning departure. I arrived a bit early as their pickup window was 22:05-22:15. Understandable as the place closes at 22:00, perfect fit me to clear out their leftovers. It was a chilly night and they met were nice enough to let me pickup a little earlier than the pickup time (arrived at 21:40) it was $7.99 for a large bowl of I think it was pork with sprouts and celery with rice on the bottom. It also came with a cup of hot soup which was perfect for the chilly weather. Got back to the hotel to devour my delicious bowl of pork with rice. Wish I asked for hot sauce as that would have made the dish more tasty! The piping hot soup was so good. It was a clear broth with seaweed and egg drop. Overall a great deal! Can't wait to come back to try all the rest of the menu!!

Dragon Bowl specializes in affordable Chinese comfort food for less than $15! It's like a Chinese Chipotle but better! To customize your bowl, pick your protein, sauce, and 3 toppings. I tried their beef bowl (12.68) on rice with mild spicy dragon sauce and made it a combo (+$3.88) for a braised egg and daily soup! The spicy sauce has a mala base. For my 3 side dishes, I chose shredded potatoes, black pepper corn, and celery carrot. I love that their sides are seasonal and their soups rotate weekly! This meal truly warmed my soul, I highly recommend checking it out!

Vegan bowl with brown rice, bok choy, cabbage, potatoes, and lotus root

Decent to-go spot for healthy-ish bowls, with a vegan option ($14.38 plus tax) that pulled me in to try it. Step 1: pick your protein -- the vegan one is a nice firm tofu; step 2: pick your sauce -- I got their signature spicy dragon sauce: a slightly sweet, salty, and spicy (duh) sauce; step 3: pick your base (white rice is no extra charge; brown rice is $0.50 more; noodles are $1 more; and then you get to pick 4 different veggies: I got bok choy, spicy cabbage, spicy shredded potatoes, and spicy lotus root. The bowl was ready in under 5 minutes, and staff were very pleasant. Good portion of food for the $, and very satisfying. Solid spot.

Food is fresh lots of flavour. Small for eat in but that's ok, take it to go and find a nice spot outside. Service is excellent. Staff are friendly and made me feel welcomed and explained all the options. Definitely recommend abc it was fast

Under $20 lunch idea in downtown Vancouver, they are also super quick and easy for take out! Dragon bowl is located in central downtown Vancouver, and it's a small joint but they are packed withloads of takeout order and delivery orders. * Chicken Bowl ($12.38) ~ we got this bowl with the Dragon Sauce, it was good and sweet with a nice salty contrast. The garlic was prominent in the flavoring and the soy really tied in the flavors. We paired this with Corn, Beansprouts, and shredded potatoes. The side dishes paired really well with the sauce it came with. I do wish there was a bit more sauce with it though. The chicken was cooked nicely. 7/10. * Beef bowl ($12.68) ~ Super flavorful! Got this with the black pepper sauce and it has a nice baby kick of hear to it! The garlic in this was bomb and paired super well with the oyster sauce and black pepper. For the side pairing we did black fungus, corn, and lotus roots. The lotus roots were delicious and good with the black fungus and corn. 8/10. * Combo add on ($3.88) ~ this comes with braised egg which was super flavorful and well marinated (8/10), and comes with a choice of drink, or daily soup. The soup we had was well seasoned and good to drink with the saucy bowl (7/10). * Overall it's a quick and easy lunch. I also love how customizable it is!

Everything was tasty, but watch out for the staining spicy sauce. The tacos could get quite messy, I'd recommend eating the fallen fillings with a fork. Only unfortunate thing is the unavoidable piss smell just outside because of where it's located. But the restaurant is still worthwhile to visit, I'd come back to try other dishes.

It wasn't too crowded on the night that I came, but I've passed by a few times and seen it full on weekend evenings. It's small so there's not much ambiance, but the staff were friendly. I got the vegetable burrito bowl. It was good but I sort of felt like there was no unifying element to it at first, but when I thoroughly mixed everything together to get the sauce distributed, that made it much better. After mixing it was pretty tasty, but a little heavy on the sauce. FYI the "marinated fried tofu" in the veg bowl is inari, not block tofu. I also got a glass of Asahi, which was nice - it's Asahi. I wasn't blown away, but it was a good quick meal that definitely beats out chain fast food.

This Mcdonalds is unique because there are no chairs and tables anywhere near the stand-alone mall…read morerestaurant. There are also no self-serve computer order kiosks. Eating in is not an option. Note that I came around 9pm on a Monday so maybe they took all the tables away earlier. Years ago when I visited this location, they had many chairs and tables just outside and inside the restaurant. Due to the awful area, a lot of homeless people were hanging around just sitting. Not necessarily eating. Now with the chairs and tables gone, there are barely any of them hanging around so I guess it's for the better. It didn't eliminate the problem entirely because as soon as I stepped out of the restaurant area I was asked a couple times by several people for a "rolling paper", extra change, or a lighter. Also, I noticed some of the windows of the restaurant were broken and boarded up with plywood. Yikes. It was VERY hot out (30 degrees!) So I decided to visit this McDonalds for a cheap but delicious frozen treat. I wanted to try their new peach smoothie but they ran out of it. I came later at 9pm so it's not surprising but it's still disappointing because I love peach smoothies. I settled for their strawberry banana smoothie. The smoothie I bought was delicious so I think it is very much worth it. It was refreshing and I could actually taste the strawberries and Banana flavors in it. In my opinion, a medium size is just enough to cool you down on an extremely hot day. Overall, their fruit smoothies are good! Good price too as it was "summer drinks day" time so it was only $2 for a medium one ($2.38 after tax and cup fee). Service could be better. There was a group of homeless looking people in front of me counting every dime, nickel and quarter to pay for their food so it took a really long time to wait to get my order in. There were 4 cash registers. Usually, another staff member would jump in and take another order using the other register but none came. Only one register was available and there were no self-serve kiosks. I had to wait 5-6 minutes to wait and get my order in even though there was only one order in front of me. Once I got my order in, it took a little longer than expected to get my smoothie, maybe 3-4 minutes. Usually it would take 1-2 minutes if it was not busy like this visit. I have a feeling that this Mcdonalds is either understaffed or just slow. Overall, I'd avoid this location if possible. Slower than expected service, and the type of people that are walking around in the area are not very, say, totally normal. Also there's nowhere to eat your food at the restaurant or near it. Kinda inconvenient. It's a decent grab and go place for the kind of stuff where you can walk and enjoy your food such as smoothies. Only giving 2 stars for the reasons stated above. I recommend you go to the slightly better Mcdonald's nearby instead. It's by Main Street - Science World skytrain station but only one short subway stop away from the Chinatown - Stadium Skytrain Station by the mall.

Otherwise I would have to wait anywhere from a 1/2 hour to 45 minutes because nobody (and I quote) nobody wanted to go into the back freezer for any of the beef patties and all that they had ready were the fish or chicken patties that had been sitting out under the warmer for a few hours!
