I've been here before, but on my recent Friday lunch visit the place was buzzing. We waited about 10 minutes for a table, which felt reasonable given the lunch rush. My friend and I both ordered the tan tan noodles with BBQ pork (char siu) -- and wow, this dish really impressed me. The noodles had just the right bite, with a peanuty, flavorful broth that was balanced and satisfying. The char siu was tender, with a perfect meat‑to‑fat ratio, lightly charred edges, and that authentic taste you hope for but rarely get. Honestly, I was surprised at how good it was. Now, one gripe: the bowls. Every single one seemed to have chips around the rim. It's not a dealbreaker, but it does make you cautious when slurping soup -- nobody wants a cut lip with their noodles. Overall though, Heritage delivered a fantastic experience. Great food, solid service, and good value. - Food: 10/10 - ‍ Service: 8.5/10 - Ambiance: 8/10 - Value: 9/10

Came here with coworkers because I wanted noodles and Heritage did not disappoint! The garlic noodles were delicious with char siu pork were delicious and they did not scrimp on pork or eggs. We shared potstickers and those were also very good. Place is very full even after the lunch rush. Service is good and I like the chill, cool interior.

Had a great lunch at Heritage Asian Eatery today. We had the Salt Chicken plate and the Char Siu Pork Belly plate with Lamb & Dill wontons and Sticky Rice & Wild Mushroom wontons. The wontons were fresh and hot with wonderful flavor profiles. Lamb wontons were not spicy though they looked like they might be. Rice plates came with gai lan which is sort of a leafy broccoli green. Service was super friendly and the room was not loud. Would love to come back and try the baos and soups!

We were downtown and looking for a quick bit. Searched some reviews and this was only a couple blocks from where we were. The menu looked solid and we were hungry! We started with the prawn toast, which was perfectly crispy and loaded with savory goodness. The balance of texture and taste made it a memorable start to the meal and my absolute favorite! The dan dan noodles followed, bringing a satisfying kick of heat and a rich, nutty sauce that complemented the chewy noodles beautifully. I didn't need the extra bbq pork I added... or did I? Regardless, it was very flavourful and the combination of spice and umami was simply spot-on. We also enjoyed the roast duck two ways: with rice and in a fluffy bao. The roast duck with rice was juicy and expertly cooked, while the bao featured tender slices of duck encased in a soft, pillowy bun. Both preparations highlighted the duck's incredible depth of flavor, and everything we tried was super tasty. Also, de-boned some duck and added to the bao to really pack in the protein! This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking a delicious, flavor-packed experience. And no, that is not a randomly added picture. Find it in the restaurant:)

Friday night at Heritage Asian Eatery on Pender Street doesn't disappoint with Prawn Toast, Dan Dan Noodles, Roast Duck BBQ Plate and Duck Bao! This is our first time at Heritage Asian Eatery. This Chinese restaurant is an upscale eatery that delivers bold and delicious comfort food with a modern twist. We walked in on a Friday night and we were initially seated at the bar as all the tables were full. After we ordered, a staff approached was that a table freed up so we moved to a table seat with ease. Each dish was just delightful and brought great memories and feels dining with my parents (who are both no longer with us) and siblings just sharing comfort Chinese food. Honestly felt like a nice big hug with each bite. I found out there is a Main Street location that just opened up which is closer to where I reside. As well, I work in North Vancouver and I am waiting for Heritage Asian Eatery to open in Lonsdale Quay!

Service was great! We got in right before the rush even without a reservation we were seated very quickly and were given refreshments and menus. The space is small, so the downside is that when the lunch rush entered we kind of had people towering over us a bit near the door just from where we were sitting. There was construction occurring so it was also quite loud. Staff were polite and timely. I am a huge chicken fiend. I will ALWAYS order wings no matter where I go if it's on the menu, haha. Their chicken wings were okay. Great crisp, but it was missing on the flavor. I got the salty fried flavor but nothing was super spectacular about them. Now for my chicken bowl, it was really delicious. The scallion oil poured onto the seasoned crispy chicken was a umami bomb. My boyfriend ordered a duck bowl- I'm not a huge fan of duck but I will say that it was prepared where it wasn't oily or fatty at all which was a pleasant surprise for me.

Been here multiple times for work lunches! Very consistent and good food. I will say a tad bit on the expensive side but it is downtown.. Friendly service and surprisingly great take out containers. I'll continue to come here!

Right in the downtown core. Good spot and seemed authentic enough. Was on a work trip from Toronto and appreciated having something like this near the office. Noodles were great. Chicken wings are fine. Nothing special but tasty nonetheless.

This place had some good reviews and it was in walking distance from out hotel so we decided to give it a chance. The staff was all very nice and attentive. The food was very good. The noodle soup was very large, it could have easily fed 2 people. I would definitely recommend giving Heritage a try

Came here because my boyfriend saw a post on instagram raving about their unique dimsum. I didn't end up getting the dimsum because the truffle shiumai that we wanted was sold out when we came. We opted for the dandan noodle and the honey roasted pork instead. The dandan noodle was not what I was expecting at all as I expected more of a dryer noodle rather than a soup. The taste was also completely different than what I would expect from a dandan noodle. This one had a peanut base while I am used to sesame and sichuan peppers, typical of dandan, on my noodles. While it took me by surprise, the taste was quite good, just not sure if I would consider this dandan. The honey roasted pork on the other hand was very juicy and flavorful. It was soft and I love the sweetness in the pork. I'd come back here just for the pork and maybe to try out the chili garlic noodle! The restaurant is a bit on the smaller side but I like that it gave more of an intimate feel. From what I remember, it is pretty quiet inside too, but I did go on a week night.

This little venue has been on my radar for some time and I'm glad that I finally made a visit. The restaurant itself is very sexy, it's lightly themed, clean and I very much adore the hanging neon 'Hello Dumpling' sign. Service was fantastic, we were greeted, seated, check on and everything came in a very timely manner. It was a party of two and we ordered prawn dumplings, mushroom bao, marinated eggplant and duck bao. I really appreciated that Heritage has vegetarian options on their menu! I was all about the mushroom bao and could not stop thinking about the slippery eggplant that had so much flavour. I liked it and now have a new sit down casual lunch option in Coal Harbour.

Yelp Review 2023 #249: This little eatery is conveniently across the street from the hotel we're staying at. Heritage's menu is simple and features some of the most popular Asian dishes. They have Xiao long bao, noodles, rice bowls, bao, mantou, etc. Xiao Long Bao: Little dumplings with hot soup and meat inside. Tasty and hot. 4/5 Pork Belly Bowl: Rice topped with shredded veggies and what appears to be taro, marinated pork belly slices, and egg. Comfortingly delicious. The pork belly is flavorful, rich and fatty. 4/5 Duck Bao: Fatty slices of duck with sauce in a pillowy bun. 3.5/5 Pork Belly Bao: Pillowy bun with fatty pork belly goodness. 4/5 Matcha Mantou: You'll find mantou in Chinese restaurants and a few Korean restaurants. They're either steamed or fried served with condensed milk for dipping. But here at Heritage, you get about 5 fried golden brown buns with matcha dipping sauce. A simple dessert. 4.5/5 They have a few tables. Service is great. You come up to the counter to place your order and pay. Find a table and wait to grab your food. The food comes out hot and fresh in 15-20 minutes.

We were so delighted walking out of the restaurant. Who knew! We were on our Sunday morning walk to check out a bakery nearby. Hunger stroke in the late morning and I had a craving for dim sum. I was thinking about Victoria but my husband reminded me of Heritage which we had read about recently. We were skeptical about how authentic the food would be given the location but we thought we would support a small business by giving a try and we are both very glad that we did! We ordered 3 items to share: 1. A rice dish with BBQ duck, BBQ park and roast chicken 2. Prawn toasts 3. Wonton in chili oil We walked in around 1130 and there was only one table seated inside. Service was extremely attentive. The server told us what the popular dishes were given it was our first visit. I love prawn toasts. The bread was crispy but soft on the inside. The paste had a nice slightly chewy texture. The heat level of the chili oil bathing the wontons was just right. All 3 meats on the rich plate were very nice. The duck pieces were juicy and tender and had a good layer of fat under the skin. The BBQ pork also had good proportions of fat and meat from belly part of the pig. The roast chicken pieces were flavourful and very tender as well. I'm glad to see that the restaurant was full by the tine we left around 1230.

Jam Cafe, Vancouver Jam Cafe is my favorite brunch spot. Anywhere. That sounds like an exaggeration. It isn't. I've been traveling to Vancouver for work for almost a decade, and every single trip includes a stop at Jam. If I'm lucky, two. I've also become that coworker who convinces everyone to meet outside at 7:45 in the morning so we can be part of the first seating at 8:00. Thankfully, we're all from the East Coast and have been awake since 5:00 anyway. Over the years I've successfully JAMfluenced more business travelers than I'd like to admit. And yes, it's still worth the wait even if you're not first in line. The restaurant itself is tiny. Cozy farmhouse vibes, mismatched decorations covering the walls, and maybe 15 tables between the dining room and patio. It feels more like someone's favorite neighborhood breakfast spot than one of Vancouver's brunch institutions. The menu is comfort food turned up to eleven. Everything is indulgent, creative, and somehow still balanced. You can tell the kitchen starts with great ingredients because every component tastes like it could stand on its own. I try to branch out every visit... and then usually end up ordering the Tater Tot Bowl anyway. Crispy tater tots, buffalo sauce, Mexican street corn relish, and ridiculously good pulled pork. It's the kind of dish that sounds like it shouldn't work, but every bite somehow gets better than the last. And then there are the cinnamon roll pancakes. They are enormous. They're also one of the best brunch dishes I've ever eaten. Birdfluencer Lorraine M. declared them the best pancakes she's ever had, and after several visits, I don't have much of an argument. Service is exactly what it needs to be. Friendly, efficient, and quick. The staff knows there's a line forming outside before the doors even open, but you never feel rushed. Overall, Jam Cafe has officially become part of my Vancouver tradition. At this point, a work trip to the city doesn't really start until I've had breakfast here. If you're visiting Vancouver and only have time for one brunch, this would be my pick without a second thought.

He suggested a Benedict dish, but I'm not a fan of runny eggs. I had already decided on the El Camino poutine and plot twist....it also came with two runny poached eggs. Even so, it was still delicious, mainly because the yolk texture wasn't an issue with the crema on the dish. That poutine was an easy 9/10. It came loaded with cheese curds, pork carnitas that weren't dry at all, bacon, pinto beans, roasted pineapple for a little sweetness, salsa, jalapeños, pickled onions, salsa verde, cilantro crema, and spinach. We were having gorgeous weather in Vancouver so we decided to eat on the covered patio. The place is pretty cozy, but was only moderately busy when we went. They have a pretty good menu with lots a Benedict's and a build your own breakfast option that seemed pretty nice. I took the recommendation from our server and got the bacon benny. It did not disappoint. I think I have recently discovered that I love poached eggs and these were perfect. The yolk was nice and runny and the white was firm but not hard. I like to cut in to my egg and have it run down and get messy on the plate. The hollandaise was excellent. So many breakfast places will serve it broken, but not here. It had the perfect amount of lemon, butter ratio for my taste and I really enjoyed it. The bacon was good, not to salty, and the english muffin was, well, an English muffin from a package that they toasted and out on the plate. I did splurge and paid the extra dollar for the truffle potatoes and they were very good. I love truffle oil on potatoes so I am a sucker for it whenever its on a menu. You just cant mess it up. Fried potatoes, truffle oil, and a lemon squeeze to bring it all together. My wife got the brunch burger and she loved it. It was a messy breakfast burger that a lot of places have but this one was done right. A poached oozy egg, on a burger patty with american cheese, the best burger cheese in my opinion, bacon, hollandaise and arugula on a brioche bun! It came with tater tots and they were nice and crispy just like she likes them. Well, why didn't I give it five stars you may be asking? Great question. Here it is, each plate came with a side that was just awful. Mine had some "fresh" fruit that nearly made me laugh. It consisted of the saddest, limpest piece of watermelon I have ever seen this side of a trash can. I also had an old crusty orange wedge and a single grape. My wife got a slimy side salad that I think was holding on for dear life. Both, we deemed inedible and moved on immediately. I think there is a rule, or at least there should be one, in restaurants that if you wouldn't eat it then don't serve it. There might be another one that says if you eat rotten food maybe get a different job and see rule one. Overall, we liked the place and would go back. But first, the food - I ordered scrambled eggs, chicken apple sausage and paid an extra $1 for truffled lemon potatoes. The verdict? 4 out of 5. While he loved the tomato soup he chose on the side, he was less enamoured by the benny itself. I had a taste and was underwhelmed by a forkful of overripe avocado and slightly fishy-tasting salmon. We finished with an order of beignets which despite being freshly-fried, were bland; although the accompanying strawberry sauce was deliciously tangy-sweet. Onto the service. This place spins like a top, and I mean that in a good way. Although we came at a peak time, all front of the house staff we encountered -- from the hostess to our bubbly server, to the smooth manager -- struck a perfect balance of being in flow, working flawlessly together, and maintaining light conversation with us. Exemplary. 5 stars out of 5.
