Grabbed a coffee here after a run on the boardwalk. I ordered the cold brew which tasted like water with a splash of coffee and a hint of hazelnut (which I asked for the add on). I didn't finish it because I was disappointed. The customer service wasn't spectacular, the girl seemed uninterested and unengaging. The coffee selection is very basic and this location is convenient when you're at the beach. I would recommend just walking to the Starbucks or Better Buzz nearby. Not worth the money. read more

The iced coffee was really weak. I even had the barista pour some out (I'd asked for cream) and add some more coffee but no bueno. I get iced americanos all the time at SB so I know how it should taste. I was sad bc I'd been looking forward to a yummy coffee all day and when you pay $5.50...so I decided to ask her to replace it...which she kindly did...I then realized she had used milk, not half n half, in my first drink and when she replaced my drink with a hot one, she didn't add the half n half, ask if I wanted any, or tell me that they were out of cream and did I want milk instead. Was just thinking that it would be great to have a walk-up coffee spot on the boardwalk, and here it is! Prices were pretty standard, iced latte was pretty standard. A large and a regular coffee are virtually the same since the large is never filled up all the way (proved this after multiple attempts) so tip here is always get the regular size and save the .50 cents. The girls working there are always very nice and helpful, although I've ordered an iced coffee twice now and received a hot coffee. But I'll be back to try the rest of the food! This place was a cute little walk up coffee shop right in the beach. They do not have a big menu but the coffee was good. Had a iced vanilla latte with oat milk and I was pretty happy with it. Best part is that it's on the beautiful beach. Brought a couple chairs and we took our coffee to the sand. Set up chairs and chatted away with friends. Best coffee date ever. Everyone did a great job social distancing in the actual beach. Not so much in the shop / coffee stand area. Staff was friendly, attentive, and wearing mask. read more

Our neighborhood coffee shop on Mission Boulevard and San Gabriel closed so now all of us locals are going to the Draft coffee shop. Great setting, a few tables outside, problem is there's a myriad of girls making the drinks. Today, the 14th, a girl made our cappuccinos and there was no foam, so it was a latte! So my husband told her that it should be 1/3 coffee 1/3 milk and 1/3 foam at which point she started arguing with him! she said she couldn't put any more foam! Said the milk was too warm, well, whose fault is that ?! in other words she didn't know how to make a cappuccino! And arguing with a customer, yikes ! read more

Cost $1 for a clear plastic cup of tap water. Just thought that was pretty ridiculous. I questioned the barista to make sure as I thought it was ludicrous to charge a dollar for a plastic cup. I guess the owners care more about that profit margin than letting my 5 year old daughter have a cup of tap water. An older lady had her drink wrong and one of the female workers were ignoring her then started to talk back with an attitude when the older lady was asking to fix her drink. Work ethic is extremely frustrating. standing in front of the line 5 mins just to order then to find out the barista doesn't make the food so she could have put the order in the went back to talking to herself and I gotta wait 15 more minutes for it. we stayed near Mission Beach for a week and found Draft Coffee after eating dinner our first night at Draft (which was great BTW also). The service was great-one of the Baristas was there 3 days in a row when we came up to the window. On the fourth go-round, when we went to order, she asked-do you want the usual? The coffee was good and we got breakfast here just about every morning --no complaints at all. And a view of the beach and the Pacific Ocean while you eat and drink--what could be better? Wow! What Rude customer service. Went here for a few drinks and also purchased a cinnamon bun. I asked for one cup of ice and the clerk said they were not allowed to give out cups of ice. I offered to pay for a cup of ice and she said no. After seeing a few orders after mine, I noticed they have drinks (other than coffee) in plastic to go cups with ice. What is the difference? If I'm purchasing 2 can drinks to sip at their tables. I asked again after noticing other people's drinks come out and the female red head at the window stated " we aren't allowed to give out cups of ice or water". I stated I wasn't asking for water just a cup to drink my $10 canned drink in. She said technically the can is to-go unless we are sitting at one of their tables which I was. Excellent coffee! The baristas are amazing and efficient. Some of the best coffee in San Diego. Their kombucha on tap is the best by far.

Really disappointed in this place. Hardly ever go out due to the pandemic but my hubby and I were craving some good coffee because we are tired of the homemade Nescafé. Stopped by today at Draft Coffee and were happy it wasn't too crowded. We ordered a Vanilla Latte, a Mocha Latte, Blueberry Muffin, Tuna Melt and Grilled Cheese. Girl at the counter was pleasant and helpful. We sat down and waited...and waited...and waited. My husband realized there were two coffees at the window but no name was called, nor the type of coffee. He then went up to the window and asked the girl making coffee if that was our coffee, to which she looked right at him and ignored him...until the girl at register answered him. That was the first red flag. Then I tasted my coffee and it just tasted funny and not good. However, my husband enjoyed his Mocha Latte. Then, we finally got our food, got home and realized my blueberry muffin was missing. Nail on the coffin was, there was bacon on the Tuna Melt, which we specifically asked what was in it and were not told of this. (My husband doesn't eat pork). I didn't see any signs either specifying what ingredients were in the food either. All in all, bad experience and won't be back. read more
