What a perfect little spot for a 'I just need my morning coffee and a bite' traveler. I was fortunate to be staying a block away from Bean Me Up, and walked down most mornings during my quasi-getaway/vacation. Coming from the Midwest I was expecting everything I bought in Cali to be inflated x20 so riddle me pleasantly surprised on my first morning when my total for a large coffee (w/Oat Milk) and giant muffin was $2.75. On top of that, on my last morning I ran out of cash cash and the owner was kind enough to still serve my caffeine habit with a smile on his face. I highly suggest Bean Me Up to anyone who loves coffee, but doesn't love having to take out a mini monthly mortgage to appease their caffeine addiction. Thank you for keeping me fueled, and Beanin'. I have have to say, the gent that owns and runs this little coffee drive through kiosk is quite friendly and makes some great choices with his coffee brew. I made a pit stop here and had him make me a Cafe au Lait with 2% milk, which he happily obliged for a couple of dollars and change. The Kona coffee used in the au Lait was smooth and rich and went very well with the hot milk. It had just the right amount of foam a top created by the hot milk splashing onto the coffee which added a bit of creaminess and natural sweetness to the cafe au lait. It was a great coffee for the road. They offer the line up of espresso and coffees, including teas and iced varieties of coffees. If you have the munchies, you can purchase pre prepared items such as bagels, muffins, and scones. You can park on the street and walk up or simply drive up in your method of transportation. Hello Yelp, I have risen from the dead to write a review for this special little shack. The first time I drove up, I asked "Do you take cards?" "No," Aw, no coffee for me, "but it's ok you can pay me next time." "Omg are you sure?" "Yeah! I do this all the time." Bless your heart sir. I ask for a regular coffee with cream and sugar. Take my first sip and...oh wow! Delicious with a dash of compassion for my unprepared cashless ass. I had to come back, not only because I wanted to pay back for the coffee but because I wanted more...MOOOORE! Coffee is so affordable and delicious that I could stop here everyday before work, but I don't cause I'm always running late and the entrance to the 8 gets backed up (I see you jerks cutting the line from the left lane!). Anyway I'm going on a tangent...if you're heading east on Sunset Cliffs, just roll by, say hello to the nice barista and get yourself a coffee, it's incredibly easy even for the laziest of folks (me). read more

Good coffee but I was extremely disappointed my coffee came in a styrofoam cup. Styrofoam is one of the most environmentally toxic products out there. Never imagined a coffee place in Ocean Beach would be so ignorant or perhaps blatantly doesn't care. I looked for a phone number so I could talk to the owner instead of posting a negative public review but I couldn't find one. I would be happy to remove this review if the owner stops using styrofoam. read more

What a great spot and location for this adorable coffee truck. The owner was so friendly and welcomed us up on Christmas Day! I couldn't believe they were open!! We stayed at an airbnb in the are and it was amazing to walk here and get a coffee with a couple of pastries on Christmas Morning. He gave our pups a treat as well. Love how welcoming he was! I can't believe Yelp doesn't know about this place yet! It's a drive-thru coffee hut on the way out from OB, so very conveniently located for a quick caffeine stop. The guy who works here is super friendly (and patient with people like me who doesn't know how to order coffee outside of Starbucks -- yeah, I'm one of THOSE people). They seem to have assorted breakfast pastries and bagels available as well, but I have yet to try anything other than the espresso drinks. The line is never more than 2 cars long, and even with my lack of non-Starbucks ordering skills, it only set me back about 5 minutes. Only downside -- cash only. =( read more

Went there for coffee on a saturday morning and didn't realize it was cash only so he said he could spot us. We finally found cash and he gave us two bananas for free.
