Aesthetic small coffee shop with a few seating available. I felt rushed at the order counter from the lady. After our orders though she asked how we liked our drinks. The drinks were a little dark for me. I wanted to venture out and try new things. This place is worth a visit. Beef empanada: 3/5 (little dry) Kakawa iced latte w/ oatmilk: 4/5 Mexican mocha iced w/ oatmilk 4/5

Kakawa iced latte

I tried the iced Kakawa coffee and I liked the coconut flavor in it. It's not too sweet so the coffee flavor is strong. It was good but I'll try something else next time. The service was nice. The ambiance was casual and seemed like a good place to work or meet with friends. On the quieter side.

Coconut Matcha

First time here. Sweet little spot in Point Loma. Very friendly staff. I tried their coconut matcha and I was not disappointed. It was not sweet, coconut flavor was very strong-borderline overpowering but I personally liked it. It was not mind blowing, but it was refreshing. Will definitely come back and try their coffee at some point.

Chai latte with almond milk

We got so many good pastries and drinks. I loved the chai latte with almond milk and the coffee cake was to die for.

We stopped at Kakawa before heading up to Long Beach, and it was the perfect pit stop. The staff were so kind, and the coffee was just as great. The vibe was so relaxed that I wish we had more time to hang out and soak it in. Definitely a spot worth stopping for.

Dirty chai

The service is great and very friendly. The menu was simple and I love that at coffee shops. I had the dirty chai with an extra shot of espresso. The chai was spiced, not overly sweet. The espresso was good quality and pulled very well.

Stopped here with my girl after reading some of the other reviews. She got a seasonal winter drink and I tried the Kakawa Latte. Both were exceptionally well done. The service and the atmosphere were perfect for a quiet morning enjoying the view from outside. We will definitely be making this a regular spot on our trips to San Diego. Thank you again!

Arabian Mocha

Really great coffee this morning! This is a great spot walking distance from me now and I'll definitely be here regularly. Staff was friendly and nice and both of the coffees we tried were great. The Arabic Mocha had cardamom and wasn't just the same old coffee you can get anywhere. Also they had a live band in for the morning who were great!

Their featured coffee was great, imported from Guatemala. Blueberry muffin was delicious as well. Great ambiance inside and outside.

Featured cold brew and blue berry muffin was delicious. Drink was imported from Guatemala. Service was good and the ambiance was aesthetically satisfying inside and outside.

Cute coffee shop where I discovered what the chagachino was! Nice place in Voltaire Street to get a coffee and spend a quiet time after visiting the farmers market around the area. Good vibes and that air of mom and pop shop that you feel like supporting every time you are in the area. No people with laptops and possibility of have real conversations smelling the aromas of rich coffee.

Walking distance from the Gallery row, in a small traditional house, a chocolate aficionado paradise. Ice cream is dense and rich. Chocolate candies delicious. Flavor hot Chocolate to warm you up in cold days.

Great little coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is along the street. The coffee here is super well made and the chai is house made! There's even WiFi at the cafe.

Americano and avocado egg toast on ciabatta roll
Anna O.

The Americano was good and avocado toast was good (ask for ciabatta roll to be toasted golden mine was just warm bread). I came here for the avo toast and coffee because I heard it was so good. However, this will not be a destination coffee shop for me because no bathroom, nowhere to wash your hands, & only paper cups, Definitely a grab and go vibe. Also, kind of pricey. I spent $5.50 on an americano and then once I finished it, I asked if I could have just another half cup of house coffee and I got charged another $3.75 for coffee. I was told it's because it's organic coffee. Actually, if she had just filled my cup half way and let me know that next time I'd have to be charged for it that may have been customer service and that may have brought me back here, but I'm out. With gratuity, charge for 2 coffees ($10), and Avo toast, I spent $30 bucks. That seems a bit excessive for a coffee stop.

It has that bold cold brew taste without being bitter or overly acidic, and the nitro gives it a really creamy texture without needing anything added. A lot of places struggle with consistency when it comes to cold brew, but they absolutely nail it here. The staff are always great, and the coffee is consistently high quality. It's one of my go-to comfort spots when I just want a guaranteed good latte. Their lattes are super creamy, and I usually order mine half sweet, which ends up being the perfect balance for me. They also have a nice selection of pastries to go with your drink. Parking is a bit limited right out front, but there's usually street parking nearby if you don't mind a short walk. Overall, a dependable spot for really good coffee and a great local favorite.

Lazy Eye to the rescue! Lazy Eye is sandwiched between two buildings with one table out front. It's a to-go place. When you're that close to the beach, who wants to be inside anyway? While they do offer regular brewed coffee, I'm pretty certain their specialty is all the delicious frou-frou coffee drinks. I usually don't go for them, but today, I was in the mood for it. Their milk chocolate mocha with light ice was delicious It made me very happy and our pup was super happy with the treat they gave him. They have a small bakery display which I passed on since we were getting brunch soon, but I'm sure there's something for everyone there. This location is open 7 days a week- 6:30am-1pm. Seriously so good and perfectly balanced. Such a fun little pre beach walk coffee stop with friendly staff and creative drinks.

Came on a Sunday around 11am and it was packed but our order was taken pretty fast. Has a nice selection of drinks and some food and pastries. We ordered a Latte and one of their siganture drinks Hawaiian Latte Iced. For me the quality of the coffee is extremely important and this one was excellent. The Hawaiian Latte had the Coconut/Macademia flavor taking you back to Hawaii. Loved the ambiance, they even have a section of local goodies to purchase. The vibe on the weekend was nice and relaxed and the employees were really nice, friendly, and smiling. I think the vibes are right for their offerings and area. However, my coffee orders were just eh. I think as a place for a basic coffee or latte with no flavoring you'll enjoy it, but I ordered two specialty iced lattes (one baklava latte and one tiramisu latte) and they tasted the same. I'm not sure what this place feels in terms of sugar but both my lattes (ordered at different times for giving the benefit of the doubt) just tasted like plain sugarless lattes. If you're advertising something with flavor give us flavor. Like for tiramisu I tasted not even a hint of cocoa, cream, or cinnamon. And for Baklava I tasted no spices or nuts like pistachio. My biggest gripe was I think they served me almond milk when I expressly asked not to since I'm allergic and I've had hives for 2-3 days now =( luckily I'm not deathly allergic but this could be a problem for someone who is.
