Dr. Doan is very nice and thorough. Staff are friendly and helpful. They have a wide selection of glasses at a decent price.

Worst optometry I have ever been to. I got a pair of glasses for 600 dollars and they didn't fit right. After I paid the staff didn't want to help me with adjusting the glasses. I had to bring them to another optometry office to get help. They also didn't want to bill my insurance even though they were IN network. I was very disappointed with the service. I had to call my own insurance multiple times to get reimbursed. I even let my insurance know how dishonest they are. They prefer cash rather than billing insurance. For contact lenses fitting they told me that they ordered my contact lenses but when I came the trial pair wasn't ready and they asked me to pay more in order to get the trial pair. I understand they might have ran into issues with billing because I got both glasses and contact lenses but they didn't explain to me beforehand. Horrible and dishonest service. Terrible communication. I'm posting this and hope no one will have to go througthis terrible experience. In all fairness though, I don't think it's the optometrist fault. He was a nice guy and did his part as an optometrist but he needs to work on training his staff. read more

Very quick, friendly, and efficient! Was able to make an appointment same day. I was greeted initially with no wait. Ann helped with all the paper work. I was able to see Dr. D quickly after which the whole exam took less than 45 minutes total. I even got my prescription for contact lenses as well. read more

Time for that annual eye exam and so I'm back here for the third year in a row. Called in on Tuesday for a next day appointment at 1PM. Talked to a very nice lady who answered in both english and vietnamese and got the schedule I wanted. One the day of the appt, I run a little late, called in and they gladly accepted. Location/Parking/Waiting Room: Upon arrival, I was very happy to find parking with 4 designated parking spots for the optometry. As soon as I entered, my name was called. WOW what excellent service. They tell me that theyre happy to see me again, had me fill out a few forms and in I go. (5 minutes tops!!). The office is clean, its air conditioned and the radio is playing top hits. I'm happy. Score: 10/10 Doctor: The doctors here are always very nice and professional. They get you in and out fast and with great attention to detail. I have come to Dr. Phi Doan for the past 8 years, and always been happy with the services received (regular eye exams, contact fitting, and dilation). For someone who has had bad vision since the 2nd grade, Dr. Phi Doan and his staff have always taken good care of me. Other reviews may say that the exams are rushed... but I always make an appointment for Saturdays at 1pm and that is not the case for me. I suggest doing the same... Parking really sucks in that plaza because it is soooo busy .... read more

I have been coming here for a couple of years now. The staff is always SUPER friendly and have tons of experience in this field. Dr Doan also graduated from Cal! Go Bears! =] The only downside is the location, horrible parking. Other than the parking issue - this place is AWESOME read more

Always greeted when we come through the door by the sweet Vietnamese ladies there. They are extremely helpful and the whole staff is very polite! Great affordable prices and always have free services like glasses cleaning or adjustment ! Came in because my lens was a bit warped and they fixed it for free and had me out in a jiffy! Dr. Phi, is a great doctor as well as his staff. He made sure to get my accurate measurements in a timely manner, and took care of making my glasses as soon as possible. In addition, I think he charges much less than most doctors. He does take medi-cal, so if you have that, it's free eye exams. There was a day when he wasn't in the office and arrived late (he has two offices), but the receptionist lady was very professional about it and told us the wait time would be an hour, so we could decide to leave or not. I would recommend Dr. Phi to anyone out there looking for eye exams and glasses. He's good at what he does and there's never a wait on days he's there. His dedication to run back and forth between offices to see just one patient is something I really admire. Kudos to him. read more

This place offers ZERO discount. If you have Eyemed insurance like I do and expect to get some type of discount from this optometry, go elsewhere because they go by the book and charge exactly how your insurance cover. I still have to pay 3 types of co-pay plus cost of the frame for a regular basic lens without any coating. 2 stars because there is no wait time and doc was nice. Probably won't come back here as I know other optometry offers additional discount on top of insurance coverage. Will be going to Eye Q next time. read more

Clean and spacious. All of the ladies who helps the doctor are friendly and sweet. Always there to help me and my bf with our needs. They do everything they can to get you in and out. This office stays opens later than most optometrists in Santa Ana. When I need new lenses, they are able to do it on the spot, unlike other offices where you have to return in a week to pick up your glasses. They take insurance which is a plus. Doctor is pretty good too. I've been going here for a couple years now and leave happy each time. Would recommend to anyone who's in the area! read more

I have been going to Dr. Phi Doan for the past 3 years. He does amazing work and is always honest and sincere. I never feel rushed and he gives me information about what is going on with my eyes. This place has an EXTREMELY large selection of frames including designer frames. Sometimes these frames are discounted for 30% off which is a great deal!
