They get two stars because they have vegan options. I ordered a Vegan Jalapeño cheeseburger, and there is no "burger" just tons of vegan cheese and tons of jalapeños. This isn't the first time they haven't delivered on what's supposed to be included in the calzone. I've ordered a vegan pepperoni and sausage calzone previously as well and the only thing inside of it were tiny pieces of the sausage and tons of vegan cheese to cover it up, which is what my friend received last night. Let's be honest - there is nothing fancy about DP Dough. They're just off of ASU's campus, open all the time, and offer cheap n good bar-esque food when you need it.... like for a delicious n carbolicious cheat meal of any combo of a calzone, wings, cheesy bread, etc etc I've ordered thru Postmates/Uber eats before and also done the due diligence to order ahead on the phone for pickup. I actually prefer the pickup option more nowadays as it's quicker than having to wait 20 minutes for someone to slowly drive the whopping 1.5 mi between my house and the restaurant. Their employees are always super kind and it's appreciated. More often than not they've thrown in an extra garlic butter sauce or ranch when I've done carry out. Wouldn't necessarily exclude the option to dine-in since they have a Galaga/PacMan arcade machine, but that's about the only appealing thing in that mini mall area. Go for one of the local calzones - my personal pref is the Sun Devil Zone or the End Zone, either with garlic sauce instead of marinara (which sometimes tastes wierd, maybe a little too sweet for me). Wings aren't too special but they hit the spot. The pesto and cheese stix are to die for. Praise be for DP! read more

BUT they stopped making the vegan cookie so no vegan dessert other than the Ben and Jerry's ice cream which is over priced. Service good but not great. Order taker was chill but ripped shirt and had to ask the other person if they had each item we ordered. Vegan mac is bomb. Cheese tots were crispy and had delicious melted cheese in top. Vegan dream. After hanging out at Peoria stadium I was able to swing by here and see some friends. There is an extensive menu for peeps who don't eat animal products. The freezer behind the register is stacked with both regular and vegan Ben and Jerry's pints which is a huge win (just note the price is high). They were out of chik'n so I had to go with the beyond sausage. I ended up getting a twilight zone and adding spinach and mushrooms. The veggie additions were skimpy but the daiya cheese and beyond meat made up for it. The dough was perfect. The calzone came with a spicy marinara sauce. Unfortunately they do not make the coconut vegan chocolate chip cookies anymore due to cost but it is the thought that counts. The guy behind the counter was super helpful and went through the menu with each group that came in. If I lived out here this would be my jam every week- I would definitely need stretchy pants. I stumbled upon this place after getting a coupon and seeing how close it was to my apartment. After my first calzone, I quickly became a repeat customer. Of things I love most in the world, calzones rank pretty high. Within a few weeks, the owner knew my order (even when I forgot it) and who I was, because he is just that personable. They're speedy (even when they're piled with orders), the calzones are DELICIOUS, and they always have great customer service! This will ALWAYS be my top choice for calzones. The Chick-N-Bacon Zone (with extra ranch), and the Bro Zone are so good!! Unfortunately, I am moving to the other side of the valley, but I will still make the drive out for my calzones. read more

Pretty good place, especially for vegans/vegetarians! They make several of their regular calzones vegan with vegan cheeses/meats. The ones I've had have all been really good! If I could rate this place zero stars I would. I have never experienced such a racist encounter at any restaurant until I stepped foot into your establishment. After I ordered my food, an employee ( a middle age bald white man) started talking to me and my friend about how he would hate to have dark skin because tattoos do not show up on dark skin and dark skin comes with a lot of issues. I was surprised that an employee would have a conversation like that with a black customer so I tried to educate him about the racist statements he was making. Eventually he changed topics, but it was still racist. This time he started talking about birth control and how it was created by the KKK to keep black people from populating. I explained to this employee that I was uncomfortable and that I felt like this conversation was inappropriate. He in turn offered me marijuana, saying that he had "the hook up" at a dispensary To recap, the only customer service that I received at your restaurant was two very uncomfortable racist conversations and an offer to buy discounted marijuana. I left your restaurant feeling traumatized, disgusted, and disappointed. As a supervisor, I am asking you to address this atrocious behavior so other customers do no have to have the same experience. Likewise, I think it would be beneficial to explain to your staff that it is illegal for people under 21 years old to possess marijuana. Btw, the person who was having this conversation with me is the manager of the store. I would highly recommend that you reconsider having him be the one to be setting an example for your staff because he clearly lacks professionalism. The main ingredient in Italian style calzones is ricotta cheese and none of the chain stores have it in theirs. So when I saw it on the menu, I knew this place knows what's what. They said 15 - 20 mins when I called ahead and even though DP's was super busy that night, it was ready when I showed up. The dough is authentic and legit. We always order from this place on postmates. I really enjoy the food but my wife can't really handle the cheese. Turns out, if you dont order on postmates, they have vegan cheese options and they also sell dairy free ice cream. I absolutely LOVE this place !!! They have so many yummy vegan options including cookies and ice cream and ranch seriously a vegan DREAM ! Today we called in our order and they said 10 minutes and sure enough it was ready so quick ! The staff there works so hard and they are so kind every time ! I want to love this place but it's just not very good. I think they use frozen dough or something. It just lacks good flavor. they have a lot of options and I have tried a few different options but it just doesn't help. I enjoy a calzone at Spinato's Pizzeria much more and it's quicker even with table service. I think DP puts a lot of care into their restaurant. The effort is there it's just the recipes they are using are not great. With that being said they do have the best tater tots I have ever had. There isn't anything wrong with this place. I've been there a bunch of times and I'm sure I'll go back. I just don't love the food. That's my personal opinion. I'm sure there are people who disagree. read more
