I'll give them 4 stars for the steak and Cheese portion of the sandwich.....but they lose a star for the roll. It's rolled in cornmeal!! NO cheesesteak shop in philly would use a roll like this. Ever!!! If you can't get Amoroso's then at least get something close. Lastly they lose a point for using Philly in their name, when their sandwich clearly is not. read more

DP Cheesesteaks - Not a proper roll for a cheesesteak. - Cheesesteaks Near Me - Provo, Utah

POSITIVES: The food was great, and I'm not even a huge fan of cheese steak sandwiches. The prices were reasonable. The service was decently quick. NEGATIVES: The lady at the counter seemed a little impatient. The place was small, and not best for dining in. PRICE: $6-9 RECOMMENDED: Traditional, cream cheese steak, garlic steak, whiz stea read more

WOW! I RARELY actually take the time to write a Yelp! review, but these guys earned it. I'm in Provo for work across the street at the Marriott, quickly search for food and say "Ah heck, may as well give this cheesteak place a shot". I got the Hot Pepper and it is AMAZING! My only complaint is that I wish I got a bigger sandwich, or a 2nd sandwich! Not greasy like a "classic" Philly cheesesteak, but a phenomenal sandwich that is taken to a next level by the cherry horseradish sauce. If you're ever in Provo, hit up DP Cheesesteaks! You will not be disappointed! read more

My husbands favorite place. Seriously yummy stuff. All so good. Generous portions, they are not stingy with their meat and toppings. A tad on the pricey side, but these are hearty, good quality sandwiches. They whip them up quick and are always have friendly service. read more

Yeah I'm gonna go ahead and give this place 5-stars. The food is always fresh and quite delicious. I would highly recommend getting a cup of the jalapeño sauce to put on your sandwich. Whenever I've been the workers have been friendly and they have been quite fast. read more

DP Cheesesteaks - Delicious - Cheesesteaks Near Me - Provo, Utah

5 stars just for the whiz steak. It was delicious. As far as I know, it is the best cheesesteak in Provo. Also, if you like soda, I recommend the birch beer. They sell bottles of it but I always get it from the soda fountain so I can have an infinite amount of it. read more

VERY VERY GOOD. Nearly perfect Cheesesteak (the bread is good but could be better). Everything in the place says with onions. I hate onions since they're gasoline to my tastebuds. But they will cook onion free cheesesteaks for me. DP has solid and good food, and ALMOST worth a drive across several cities to get to. Way Way Way better than a subway or some chain. I say give em a whirl. Love the cream cheese options. Wish they would spread em on first. By the way Vitos in Bountiful mentioned way better than DP. NO WAY. Vitos is good, but I like DP better. And I think they pays their taxes where Vitos makes you wonder what game is this dude playing with not touching the money. DP = GO THERE. read more

5 stars for DP Cheesesteaks! I come to DP quite often and it never disappoints! It is always very consistent and fast! One of the great things about DP is the steak quality. You can tell that the steak they use is very good quality and it tastes amazing! The service is awesome! Very friendly, and quick! If you're like me and don't eat bread, that is okay! They will put the steak over a bed of lettuce and it is great! If you're extra hungry, double up your meat! Everyone needs to try DP! read more

Food comes out hot and fresh, but my sandwiches have been really bland. In this area, I like The Italian Place a lot better. Service was good, they are friendly. Too pricey...I paid $9 for a 6 inch and a drink. Ambience: it's really dark, and you end up smelling like their grill. The tables and chairs outside were dirty and covered in cobwebs. It's an ok spot, but I'm not sure what the hype is all about. read more

I've been coming here for awhile now. Garlic steak with cream chz and add franks. You won't want anything else. Except birch beer read more

DP has the best cheese steak sandwich in Provo/ Orem. I really like the optional jalapeño spread that they offer there. I'm getting hungry thinking about it. I also love the birch beer there. My only complaint is that it closes too early. I can't tell you how many times at about 9:30 I'm trying to think of a non hamburger place to eat. Then I think "oh ya, DP sounds perfect" then I remember that they are closed. read more

My co-workers and I love eating here. Great cheese steaks, and great service. I like the traditional and the garlic steak the best. My boss claims that the whiz is the most authentic. Definitely make this place a stop for a football game, or just for the heck of it. read more

I don't know cheesesteaks, but I don know bread, and this bread happened to be the perfect density. Some bread deflates when you bite into it, other bread is more like a bagel. Not the bread on these sandwiches - This bread is perfect. I ordered the 6 inch traditional cheesesteak and it was very filling. A coworker of mine ordered the 9 inch traditional and it was too much for him to finish in one sitting (and he's an ex-army guy... not exactly small). Like I said, I am not a cheesesteak expert. I don't know if I could spot a "great" cheesesteak if I saw one in the wild. What I do know is that this was a pretty good sandwich. read more

I have to say, I've tried a lot of cheesesteaks from all over the United States and DP Cheesesteak has to be one of the top, even here in little ole Provo. Their service is quick. They use the right amount of seasoning (not too peppery) and the meat is cooked just right. Also, there's a lot of different varieties to choose from. Are you still love coming here when I was doing my protein diet because I could get a Philly cheese steak with cheese and mushrooms hold the bread. It was wrapped in lettuce! Now, I'm a sucker for a really good cheesesteak and if I get a hankering, this is the first place I come. Also, I'm not big soda fan, but there's just something about their Birch Beer that keeps me coming back for more. (Think of Birch Beer like a robust, flavorful Root Beer.) If I had any complaints, it would be price, but then again, I'm always complaining about price. This place is actually on par with other cheesesteak eateries. read more

Solid, mostly, but unspectacular. This is my second visit to one of these places and although I found the rendition here to be better, though much sloppier and wetter going with the Cheese Whiz rather than Provolone, it was not much better. Maybe something has slipped in the years, but I can't imagine Rod having a sandwich like mine and then glowing about it as he did in his review. I had a puddle on the paper wrapping the sandwich by the end, which was a nuisance, but nothing compared to the sadness of bite after bite of a sandwich, even created and delivered, as it was, by exceedingly kind and friendly staff, that was maybe slightly above average, but not much more. This is the kind of sandwich, in fact, that people who don't know any better call great and heap a ton of other accolades on it. They do use a good cut of meat. That appears to be fairly high quality, but flavor overall is on the phantom side and the overall mush of it gets to be a bit wearing. If I was around one of these places and hungry for a cheese and steak sandwich, I'd probably stop in, but it's no Moochie's or even Joni's. Given that their jalapeno sauce is served cold, in little cups, with a consistency almost like margarine impregnated with little bits and pieces of jalapeno, which falls short compared to those other two in texture and then falls way, way short in terms of flavor, it's hard for me to justify spending the kind of coin they want for a sandwich that strongly suggests the word mediocre at times, which neither of those other two vaunted sandwiches does ever. On the plus side, the staff, particularly the girls here, are awesome. They also have a fine selection of chips to be found nowhere else and they have Coke Zero in a pretty solid mix on the fountain. read more

I love DP Cheesesteaks! It's got the tastiest cheesesteaks around! My personal favorite is the hoagie cheesesteak, and when you get that and put on some of their incredibly delicious cherry horseradish, and you have the tastiest lunch ever! Personally I usually just get the regular size but the big is great when you're extra hungry. Anyway. Love this place. I eat here frequently. Highly recommend it. read more

After living in PA for many years I'm familiar with "authentic" cheesesteaks and DP is the bomb! I love chicken cheesesteaks with wiz and they deliver. The only issue I have is they use WAY TOO MUCH SALT! It's so bad it ruins the taste of the cheese steak both chicken which I had and a regular beef cheese steak which my husband had. So my suggestion to the PA owners is lay off the salt!! Please! read more

I really wanted to like the food here more. The place is really nice. I got here like 20 minutes before closing and orders a steak wit 'schrooms. The ambiance here was awesome, the young lady that took my order was very friendly and took care of me quickly. Service was 5 stars. Then I got to get my drink....they have Birch Beer on tap from PA!! Birch Beer, 5 stars!! My sandwich was made very quickly and the young lady that made it was very nice as well. I drove back to my hotel room and sat down to eat. I opened the sandwich, it looked delicious. It smelled delicious. But flavor wise, it ended up being just ok. The meat was a little tough for my taste, and the cheese was kinda globbed together in a ball in the middle of the sandwich. The bread was a winner though. The sandwich got me full, but it just didn't do it for me like some of the other reviews here. If I'm ever in Provo again, I would give them another try, maybe the second time would be a charm. read more

Since my initial review back in 2014, my opinion of DP Cheesesteaks has only gotten better! In all my visits, I have only thoroughly enjoyed my meals. I go at least once a week, usually following one of my three times per week dialysis sessions. The food is ALWAYS fresh, hot, properly cooked and absolutely delicious! Yesterday I got the Mushroom Steak with double cheese, and used their horseradish/cherry pepper sauce on it, as well. It was as good as I expected, and I ate every bit of the sandwich. The Provo location has an outstanding crew that never misses in running a terrific location. The cashiers are always top notch--Thank You, Mikayla!--as are the rest of the crew. read more

I decided after a couple years and a craving during my current pregnancy to try this place again. They seem to have changed their bread since the last time I tried them. They have a seeded bread now. It was tasty and soft. I ordered the pizza cheesesteak again. This time on a whim I got it with extra marinara and extra provolone. It was honestly delicious. The steak was tender and thinly sliced without a lot of gristle or anything inedible. The sauce was flavorful. I took a star off though because the provolone wasn't melted at all, which affects the whole layout of the sandwich. Also, my dads sandwich seemed to not have any provolone at all. If they can keep this up, and maybe even slightly approve, I will likely be going there regularly during this pregnancy. read more

My friends have been telling me this is the best cheesesteaks in Utah for a while, so I finally decided to take my wife. I got the pepper and mushroom steak with cheese wiz and she got the garlic mushroom with chicken. To say that the steak was delicious would be doing it a disservice. I downed the entire large in a matter of minutes. Not because I was that hungry, but because it wad that good. I could have gone for another, but I was too full. The chicken steak had such a great garlic flavor that I wanted one of those for myself in addition to what I already had. I can't wait to go back and try something new from the menu. The prices are great and the food even better. The staff is friendly. The guy at the counter even got my obscure movie references. Everyone should give this place a shot! read more

My review is short and concise: Great pricing around 8-10 dollars per person. The cheesesteaks are amazing! Truly it's hard to find a cheesesteak where the meat isn't dry and rubbery. I've been to philly and tried Pats and this is the best I've come to find a quality cheesesteak sandwich other than there. They have a great selection and it's all put on this bread that is to die for. They have a nice selection of drinks especially birch beer which is like root beer but a different flavor. You won't find a soda very often like this. It's also a great scene for watching sports. Their set up for seating is simple, it makes sense and you have enough room for large groups. read more

I had only eaten here once a long time ago so I jumped at the opportunity to eat here again when my brother suggested it. I ordered the Mushroom Pepper Steak but got it protein style (on a bed of lettuce instead of a bun) and was so impressed! The service was quick and the food delicious. The half size was very filling! Will definitely be eating here more often. read more

Yum yum cheesesteaks!! A great variety of sandwiches and great customer service. This place is very clean.

Nowhere tops DP! I could eat their cream cheese cheesesteak with jalapeño sauce everyday of the week and still want more. Seriously.

Awesome cheesesteaks! Super friendly and accommodating staff. Only down side is the location is a little inconvenient and cramped, but it's probably just due to the construction in the area. Definitely worth it. read more

Such good food. You can always add sauce to up it a bit if it comes out a little dry, which is rare. The portions are good, in my opinion. I've always left full and happy! Wish it was $1.50 or so cheaper, overall though. read more

The cheesesteak was good. I got it "wit" (how they say it in philly when with whiz). Juicy, good flavor, and not a bad roll. It's worth a try! read more

DP is the closest I've been able to get to home here in Provo. Their cheesesteaks are solid, and if you're looking for authentic Philly then don't get anything but the Whiz (and for the love of gosh, don't get mayo on your steak). It's also nice to be able to get my birch beer and Herrs fix, but if they want to get five stars they need to bring in Tastycakes. Provo doesn't know Philly until they've had a butterscotch krimpet. They're no Tony Luke's or Geno's, but I will go here over all the other cheesesteak places in the area. read more

Their sandwiches are somewhat bland, but still okay. I'm going to try a regular food item next time

I lived near Philadelphia for 13 years. These steak sandwiches are the carbon copies of authentic east coast sandwiches. Make sure to tell them you want one "wit, wiz" and watch them look at you like you are speaking a foreign language. This place is the closest you will find to original philly steak sandwiches. Go there and try this place out. They gave more than one location in the area. Also make sure to try their birch beer. This is caffeine free soda, similar to root beer, and only available in PA. read more

Delightful place. The customer service is amazing, the food is phenomenal, and prices are very comparable to the quality of the meal you receive. I come here all the time and they're worth every penny. read more

Pretty good philly. Decent portions and good quality, just a little more on the spendy side. I didn't feel stuffed when I left and paid about $11. But I feel like the staff was friendly and things were okay. read more

I think I had two of their cheesesteaks, both were on point in terms of cheesesteak essence. It's been a few months so clearly I need to go back and try them again and maybe post a more thorough review read more

Love this place! Only been here twice but I love the scenery here, the service is on point, and of course the food is amazing. My personal favorite is the Whiz Steak but I'm sure all of them are good. Their Birch Beer (their root beer) definitely tastes better than others I've tried so I'd also recommend that. A little plain, but I only tried the traditional cheesesteak (since I had never tried a philly cheesesteak before in my life). The rest of the menu looked varied, the cashier was friendly, and the prices were reasonable. I'll definitely be going back! read more

I get the cheesesteak salads and they're freaking good. Cheese whiz is the bomb which most cheesesteak places around here lack. I loved it.

Excellent philly cheeses! Great bread and cheese. Very fast service. Workers seemed interested and did a good job. I would eat here again. Very good prices. Close to BYU campus. I wish I had gotten the large instead of the smaller size. read more

The Garrick cheese steak is amazing. These are good subs. The birch beer is great as well. Love grabbing lunch here.
