The Menudo was delicious and The Barbacoa Burrito was out of this world! Come early place quaint and small and fills up fast. They have rule that you must order before sitting down.

Finally got to try this place out and it was really good! There barbacoa breakfast taco was delicious and so was there chicharron. My daughter had there chorizo and egg taco and she tore it up! There chiles weren't as hot as I would of liked them to be but overall they were tasty.

My husband and I came on a Sunday morning because I was craving breakfast tacos. Well, at 10am they ran out of flour tortillas which I was super bummed about. My husband really wanted to try their menudo, so I decided to try the green chilaquiles. The food was very good, and the portions were huge! The menudo was fresh, not greasy, and had a clean taste to it. The chilaquiles were piping hot, crunchy, and so good! The green salsa had a nice kick to it. The chilaquiles came with refried beans and potatoes. The potatoes had no flavoring, so I left those to the side. All in all, the food was delicious, but I want to come back to try the breakfast tacos.

Don't miss out! Do yourself a favor and come eat here. We came to visit Dallas and found this hole in a wall joint. It's in an industrial center but don't let that fool you. The food was amazing. And I'm hard to impress when it comes to comida mexicana. The family run business has excellent customer service. They have different meats of the day and you can see what you are ordering. They make you wait to get a table until you order which makes the table turnover quick. I absolutely recommend this place! We will definitely come back next time we are down in Dallas!

Great food, quick and good service. Great place to go for lunch if you're at TI or another nearby business.

Menudo, barbacoa taco & beef & chili taco

Menudo was delicious with a spicy kick. Plenty of hominy but not enough meat. Corn tortillas were not homemade and they were out of homemade flour tortillas. Barbacoa taco was good but a little greasy & the beef & chili taco was great and very spicy hot. Will go back. Service was great. The line was long. Comfortable feeling of families gathering for a home cooked meal.

As a fellow Chihuahuense, this place has become my new to go to. The food was nothing short of delicious. This family owned business definitely showed the best of it all. Staff and owner were very attentive to our requests and our needs. Do yourself a favor and come try them out. Warning: if you walk in hungry, you'll want everything on the menu! It also seems to stay busy for all great reason so come early. A Calm and family friendly atmosphere.

No convenience if no one answers the phone for take out orders.

Our cocktails were all good - and the appetizers were very good. We had the crispy pork belly and the tostaditas with barbacoa. The crispy pork belly was especially delicious and I would order as my own dinner in the future. It comes with onions and sauces and corn tortillas and it's to die for - so crispy and flavorful. We ordered the Bistec enchiladas and they were good but not as good as the appetizers. They give you a variety of sauces when you're seated that you keep throughout the meal - from mild to spicy but I would say the "spicy" is on the mild side. Still good and flavorful but not unapproachable for most ppl. We had the Campechana dessert and it was a little strange. It was basically a vanilla Icecream cake with a crispy waffle cone like layering that was really hard to break until it sat a while. It was oddly addicting but also not that good? I can't explain it. We went to the cigar lounge area after dinner and had Mexican espresso martinis and watched football before heading home. There was little smoke smell but very minimal until it got later. Around 8:30 (on a Saturday night) ppl started smoking cigars and they opened the side windows and being 90degrees right now - it became less enjoyable so we decided to end the night. In the fall that room would probably be quite lovely with the windows open. They have comfortable seating and fire pits. Really more of a 4.5 out of 5. Loved the decor near the restrooms and patio too.

This queso is probably the best I've ever had. BTW it is a LIL spicy but I can let that slide. Another great appetizer option would be the Nachos Al Carbon with wagyu. Super good too & honestly you can even order it for just one person as a main dish-- the serving size is big enough. BUT THE REAL STAR OF THE SHOW AT LAS PALMAS ARE THE WAGYU FAJITAS!!! Incredible. Comes with flour or corn tortillas, beans, rice, and obviously the works: sour cream, guacamole, lettuce. You know the vibes. Speaking of vibes, they're always there at Las Palmas. There was a time when Meso Maya was the go-to for upscale Mexican in Dallas. The culinary scene in Dallas has changed so much that it is not longer the case. But the downtown Meso Maya remains an icon and continues to deliver consistently good food and service. The restaurant still has the warm ambience and remains in good condition even after all these years. It was too hot to sit on the patio so we ate indoors. The interior is smaller than I remember. The restaurant still starts you out with complimentary chips which are strips, and a smoky, spicy salsa. it was great. I started with the a mescal margarita and it was excellent. The kid had Topo Chico and the wife had Prosecco. Everyone enjoyed their drink. For entrees, the wife had her favorite, the vegetable budin, which is like a lasagna. The flavors were deep and rich. She loved it. I tried the carne tacos and they were excellent! The meat was tender and smoky. The beef had been marinated for a wonderful flavor. Good quality with no fat. I usually avoid ordering beef at restaurants because I often get more fat than meat which I detest, but not at Meso Maya. Our server Luis was very good. Present when we wanted and not when we did not. Overall, the restaurant was a hit on every level--ambience, service, and food. We like the downtown location the best and will return.

Original review: I really wanted to love this place, and I was so close to doing so. The good: the ambiance was cute and fun. Loved the decorations, the bar is big and takes up a lot of the area where some of the tables are making it a little crowded but that's not a big deal. They had a performer there that night and that was cool. The item we were so excited to try was the biggest disappointment, the chicharon! It looked so good but it was so bland and chewy. We thought it might have been undercooked and ordered another second and asked them to cook it longer but alas it was like chewing on nothing. And that is the common denominator with all the food here. It was so bland. The only item I enjoyed was the jalapeño and cheese sausage. The salsa was bland. The meats were bland. The chicken was overcooked and dry. The drink in the bowl was good. But other than that the meal was a disappointment which is truly sad because we were looking forward to the meal, and it was pricey too. Had the food been good we wouldn't have been bothered by the price. We needed some flavor that day.
