I'll start by saying we have been a few times now, this time we were camping at Cherry Creek and wanted breakfast without a mess so Dougs was the spot. As usual my omelet was pretty good, could of Used more than a thin slice of Swiss on top, nothing special but ok, probably would not order this item again. My wife had a breakfast burrito that she said was good. My complaint is FOX news on. I feel like a restaurant should be welcoming everyone, having FOX Sunday morning news on does not at all feel welcoming as a same sex couple. I manage a food business also and we're super careful that every person feels comfortable and welcomed. I'm not a weird screaming liberal, just in the middle someplace and would say the same it MSNBC was on. Just not what should be playing if you don't want people feeling welcomed. This is one of my favorite brunch places to eat at! The service, taste and portion size of were amazing! I've had the several things from this restaurant all of which I absolutely love! My favorite has to the be breakfast burrito with chorrizo and green chile. The chorrizo gives the green chile a little more spice. Another favorite has to be the black Betty burger. This burger is unique in that it is a lot like a peanut butter jelly sandwich within a burger. This burger flavor combination surprisingly works! Finally the service is always amazing! After coming here a few times, I'm becoming less of a fan. The staff are always great and accommodating, especially when my friends and I come in with 3 babies, but my biggest issue is with the food. Usually when you get an omelette, the fillings are cooked into the egg. Here, the food is stuffed in the middle like the egg is a tortilla. Last visit I got the Clint and it has Swiss cheese in it. There was literally one square of cheese melted onto the top of the omelette. And it's not like it was hidden, it was just there like that's how it's meant to be. It's as if the eggs are pre cooked and then stuffed to order. And my spinach leaves were not even slightly wilted. It's weird. The chocolate chip pancakes are heavy as well as the biscuits. How do I love Dougs...the answer is usually ALWAYS...but sadly, not today...... The Rueben was fatty and the fries were undercooked-see pic. My scrambled eggs were burnt and my biscuit (that I asked for crispy) was not crispy at all. Our server Jean was super efficient at delivering the check moments after delivering our food but curiously absent when it came time to check in on us to see how we were doing. When she came to pick up the check we told her it was an off day for them she offered to replace the meal but by then, it was too late.....so she kindly took the uneaten Rueben off the bill. This is the first place my husband wanted to visit when he came back from deployment and they did NOT disappoint. We got the sweet toast (exceptional French toast) and the Basic (eggs, sausage, hashbrowns and a biscuit with the jam of the day). Our server was the sweetest human I think I ever met and made sure our coffees were never less than halfway full. We ate and paid and just when I thought the experience was over, our saint of a server offered us coffees to go with several of my favorite creamers. 11/10 recommend, one place I'll never regret going to. read more

This location was not as good as the others I've been too. The green chili was not spicy and my burrito was not very hot. My mother in law enjoyed her quesadilla and daughter liked her eggs. Our server's mask was beneath her nose the entire time. The staff in the kitchen also didn't wear their masks correctly, one even had his below his chin. We came here for brunch on our recent trip to Denver. It's a super tiny hole in the wall kinda place in a strip mall so we had a wait quite awhile to be seated for our party of 8. After a 30 minute wait we finally go seated. The decor has your usual American diner feel with wood paneling and wooden tables/chairs everywhere. We've enjoyed Dougs for several years. The only problems have been when the pancakes are nice and brown on the outside but not completely cooked in the middle. I assume that the grill is too hot, it makes it look just right,dark, on the outside but doesn't stay on the grill long enough to cook it all the way through. The omelets are terrific, with great hash browns that appear to be made from real potatoes and not from a freezer bag. read more

Me and my family went to Doug's for breakfast to go. We saw there sign and thought we would try them out. We ordered 2 hillbilly breakfasts a order of pancakes a burrito and kids breakfast. When we got home we were disappointed, the biscuit was hard and even cut it. the pancakes were hard on the bottom and also hard to cut with with a knife. the burrito was open not closed like a burrito is supposed to be, Then on a to go order they charged 10% tip so they gave themselves a Tip and did not get an authorization from me. The owner told me that was normal if the customer keeps the recite . I asked her why did the cashier not remind me to sign the receipt, she had no answer. the food was terrible we threw it away, and caulked it up to bad experience. I said you know the customer is always right. she no the customer is not always right, I said bullshit several times. they think it's okay to charge 10% tip without the customers knowledge. they say nothing about that in there customer policy statement. eat there at your own risk read more

My perfect rating is attributed to Meagan and her second mile service. The food is always good at Doug's, but Megan's service is what makes it special. Megan is always attentive, efficient, and overall splendid. My wife says if you're ever mean to Megan you deserve to get beat up because she's that sweet and would never deserve that type of treatment ( btw my wife hates violence and doesn't condone it, just an fyi). Today we were welcomed with Megan's warm and welcoming smile and spirit as she held the door open for us to enter to enjoy good food and great service, which we did! The Huevos Socorro are always saucy goodness with tender carne asada. In the mood for a burger, they have you covered. Try the Black Betty, a sweet and savory spot hitter! So this morning started like most Sunday's. When to get out of bed, what to do when I got out of bed, what to eat. I noticed a friend online and shortly afterwards we decided to meet for some breakfast. Any excuse to get out of house work right? We decided to meet at a place he had been many times, but would be a first for me. I had driven past this spot several times in the last few years but never stopped. It was bustling on a Sunday morning. A waiting line out the door, which I have been told is normal most any time. We didn't have to wait long for a seat at the counter. Everyone was buzzing around, and plates were hurried out of the kitchen piled with food. The menu is small compared to most diners I have been to which is nice because you don't have to peruse it forever to find something you think you might want. My eyes were wide from all the things I saw going in and out of the kitchen. So much looked so good, it was going to be hard to decide for sure. Our waitress Linda was really nice, very personable. I ordered a cup of tea and the B&G. B&G??? Biscuits and Gravy, this is normally served with 2 eggs. As I can't eat eggs and ordered it - the eggs, Linda quickly asked if I would like to substitute hash browns for the eggs. Yes Please. I thought that was great, as must places you go will not offer up something to replace eggs. As we sat and chit chatted waiting for our orders I started to notice things. Purple things, Purple Mugs, Purple napkins and little pops of Purple in different places. I thought it was neat that instead of the standard restaurant supply white or beige they went with a color. To me it was a nice touch. What we found really funny, but in an odd way kinda nice. Linda brought our check WAY before we were even served. Now this in no way took away from her attention to us. She was right there to refill my hot water, and even came back to have a little personable chat. Breakfast was served. It's been a long time since I have had B&G and it was oh so good. The biscuits were enormous and great quality. They were grilled before had to give them a nice crisp top and a little extra flavor. The gravy was not overly salted as you find in a lot of places. It was a great consistency, not to thin and not to thick.. For me it was just right. The hash browns were awesome as well, not overly cooked but crisp and ample in portion size. Papas Adovada is a family favorite. Try to the red Chile and if you get the carne asada get the green. Must try their homemade jams.

A good local homestyle American/Mexican breakfast place for our Ohana! Honestly, it's been a long wait for a good breakfast joint in town. This place was hidden in a small strip mall right around the corner from my granddaughter's Pediatrician's office. Hot brewed coffee and cold ice water started our meal so we could look over their yummy menu. The Papa came with Scambled Egg on top, Roasted Pork cooked in Red Sauce in the middle, Homestyle Potatoes on the bottom and all Smothered with Green Chili. I came hungry and I could not even eat half of it. I shared a few bites with my daughter and took the other half for a light dinner. The Green Chili was oooh so good...... My daughter ordered the Chocolate Chip Pancakes, Eggs and Bacon. The Pancakes also filled the plate. I took a couple of bites but, I didn't like them so much they were to thick for me. The Bacon was excellent! The server was on top of our drinks, food and very friendly. The food took a little wait to prepare but, we weren't disappointed when it all arrived. First time...will NOT be the last time. Was looking for a different breakfast locale that wasn't Ihop...well. Doug's IS that place. Went in to make a to go order. Got the Hillbilly with the bacon and an extra order if sausage. Got the food home...thinking it was strange that a single order came in two boxes...then I opened them... What I beheld was the biggest biscuit and gravy, ginormous sausage patties that were more burger patties than sausage, and the thickest bacon I've seen west of the Rio Grand. And let me tell you, visually it was delicious...but that was nothing when I took my first bite into the biscuit and gravy... Fluffy and with a sweetness that paired oh so well with the country gravy. The bacon...well, superb. The sausage was a little hard to cut through with just a fork (that thick), so...since I was at home, I just picked it up with my fingers, ripped a piece off and dipped it in that glorious gravy. Haven't said anything about about eggs, mainly because they just were not the centerpiece of this meal...they were good, just the biscuit and gravy along with the bacon and sausage were the stars of the quartet. But then...there came the hashbrowns...OMG!!!! I had to save the gravy; literally scraped it off the biscuit (which was fantastic without gravy) and I had to blend the hash and gravy. It's been a while since I've been thoroughly sated by breakfast...and it feels good. It was a lot of food, BUT, not so much that you have to undo the top button of your pants...you just know you don't need to eat the rest of the day, because nothing else could compare to what you just feasted on. I had never seen or heard of this place before I started working near it. My first meal here was a burger and it was amazing! It was huge and they are unique in that they are oval shaped rather than circular. They are fresh and taste great. The fries are really good as well. The others in my party had different things and everything looked and tasted great. Inside is average, nothing special really. My coworker has brought in soup from here a couple of times as well and all three were amazing. I've had potato, clam chowder, and some sort of red bean soup. The potato soup has hands down been the best soup I have ever had! The second meal I had was the blueberry pancakes. Holy crap these things are HUGE!!!! They are literally like a foot wide! Please if you are coming with someone, split this because its way more than a single person can eat at once. The blueberries in these were flippin huge too! They were molten hot as well and I couldn't eat them with the pancakes because they were so hot. I am for sure going to try more from here because my coworkers all say everything from here is amazing. read more

Found this place by doing a google search for breakfast restaurants near me, the reviews here seemed promising so I figured I'd give it a try. Upon arriving I was pleasantly surprised to see a very large counter top seating area, when eating alone I hate taking an entire table to myself, so having an abundance of solo seating was appreciated. The restaurant was clean and decorated with various aircraft pictures, which implied they have some attachment to military. The atmosphere when I arrived was not loud and did not seem crowded. I was greeted after seating myself by a gentleman who clearly enjoyed his job. To drink, I asked for coffee and water and requested time to review the menu. The menu is not as cookie cutter as bacon and eggs, so I went to google to explore some images and reviews, the waiter noticed this and immediately began explaining the menu in depth which was helpful. I decided to order the huevos socorro, which consisted of eggs, Carne Asada, green chili, beans, hash browns, tortillas, and garnish. While waiting my waiter brought me one of their homemade biscuits, which was very large with good taste, but an interesting texture. I ate the entire biscuit, so it was good, just not your norm. The entree was absolutely delicious! The flavors of the green chili was some of the best I've had, the carne asada which is homemade apparently was tender cube shaped with nice flavors. Overall I was impressed with this restaurant. Good prices, comfortable atmosphere, and friendly service. My only criticism would be the topping off of coffee or coffee refills, which I received one and not asked again until I asked after paying. Doug has had his Day. Stopped in for a late AM breakfast. We were seated promptly and the server was friendly and cheery. When the food showed up it was a different story. My oatmeal was relatively dry and lukewarm, at best. Kudos for the plump blueberries, however. The side biscuit was swimming in butter. They need to serve those dry with honey butter on the side. My partner's omelet was also arrived lukewarm, the eggs were overdone and this was nothing more than egg folder over mostly raw ingredients. Had we not been in a bit of a rush we would have sent everything back. Anyone who rates this place better than 3 stars has never been to a breakfast restaurant in Chicago of Florida. It was a blustery day. The Mr and I were wandering around looking for a new joint. Holding hands and singing "lets go fly a kite" from Mary Poppins we were blown way off course from our favorite hardware store and ended up at Doug's. LE WOW how do you choose. Mr. got this monster skillet breakfast with piles and piles of goodness. "Take a bite" he said. More than one, I took. The green chili that smothered the eggs and hash... my toes curled with happiness. Mr. ate ALL of it. (Minus my 3 bites.) And then he stole half of my English Muffin because I may have mentioned that the Peach Jam was really really yummy. I had an omelette... of wimpy sized proportions, and I still didn't finish it. They are not kidding about HUGE portions. More than worth the drive to Boulder from Denver... we will absolutely be going back!!!! read more
