Highly disappointed, my fries tasted so nasty you could taste the nasty oil flavor and the onion rings had a nasty flavor as well on top of them being burnt. I've been going here for about ten years and now they lack customer service and their fast food just gets worse. I do not recommend going here, try Olli Bella around the street or any other burger place.

I've read may reviews here stating the chili cheese are the best. If you don't like flavor, like the cheese they use for hamburgers, like chili sauce that looks water down, then maybe you'll like this. This is the worst chili cheese fries I have ever tasted. The chili sauce looks gross, where's the meat? Why are they charging for a large plate when there's so little food in the container. This is my second time trying this place. I decided to give it another try since I always see a line of cars ordering. Never again, my first opinion still stands.

Was really craving a burger and decided to try Douglas. I did not know it was drive-thru only. I guess the dining part of the restaurant is closed. I ordered the cheeseburger and chili tamale. The cheeseburger was good, decent. Extremely thin meat patty. The chili tamale was really interesting. Instead of chili cheese fries it's a ground beef tamale. The tamale was okay, a little soggy tasting. They gave me chopped raw onions on the side. Surprisingly, they were quick! Not much waiting at all being only a drive-thru burger joint.

Your typical hamburger joint. Nothing too special. You'll find a massive assortment of menu items here, from your steak & eggs breakfast, to your Jr. burger special, to your pastrami sandwich... you name it, it's probably here. You'll also find your typical brown faux wood and vinyl seats, as well as that old menu board (sponsored by Coca Cola) that looks like it was made in the 80's. We used to come here in the late 90s and now in 2015-16 and nothing has changed!! It's awesome to know that the same family owns it (they are always awesome...not so much the other workers), the food is good quality and value. I never get sick, like I have with food at similar places. It's not high class, but it's a family burger place and it's somewhere you can get a great burger, grilled chicken sandwich, chili cheese fries or ham and cheese. Breakfast is not their forte. read more

I love this place! I have been to this Douglas quite a few times and have never been disappointed with my meal! I stopped by for lunch with coworkers today and we were all very satisfied with the service and food. I love the chili cheese fries! Everyone working was so nice. The cook was awesome, he even served my food so my co-worker wouldn't make two trips:) There was a friendly gentleman by the name of Angelo who greeted everyone and offered refills. He was sweet. Definitely would come back here during lunch time due to the quick service. Glad I recommended this place! read more

This place is amazing. I have been coming here for the past 30 years! Burgers are simply the best. Fries are amazing. Everything on the menu is top notch. I've been coming here for a while now and I love it! The best thing about this place is their amazing customer service. They're service is quick even on their busiest days and they always have a smile on their face. I always order the same thing so I can only speak about the burgers and fries. I like how the food is always served hot. The burger buns are toasted which is nice and the fries are thick. The only thing that is missing on the fries is seasoning but I always add some salt and pepper and they're perfect. read more

This place has the best Onion Rings that are not to Greasy. The Chicken Sandwich best Sandwich I had. The fries are not to fried nor salted. I love the Chili Fries. One Negative thing I have to say is they don't have a breakfast Steak Burrito. But overall the owner is chill and the store is clean. read more

The only reason Douglas does not get a 5 star rating from me is because they charge to use ATM/Debit Cards. The food here is as good as mom & pop fast food gets. My faves include the bacon cheeseburger and their fries---sooo good! Their burgers are made to order which is always a plus in my book. read more

Don't believe the chilli cheese fries hype. They suck. The fries are bland and they use what seems like cheap cheese that they throw on the burgers not nicely grated cheese that you see melt before your eyes like at Tams. Get out of their quick and drive to Tams instead for your chilli cheese fries fix! Oh and burgers were just meh not horrible not delicious. read more

the breakfast burrito is better than the sandwich - and i am a big fan of the sandwich. At first I was a little skeptical, because it didn't have the usual hash brown that I was expecting. It also had American Cheese - which I am not a fan of. But it worked here wonderfully! The tortilla was toasted perfectly and had a nice crunch, it was not greasy & it didn't even need sauce or salsa it was THAT GOOD! read more

I have been coming here since i was in middle school the only reason i would go was because the owner and his dad are very nice and welcoming and the burgers are good. The problem i have with this location is when ever i order my food thru drive thru they always get something wrong it never misses to amaze me. The staff there is rude!!. If you even ask for condiments they immediate role there eyes. I always order well done onion rings. Which they never make them right. I ask them to charge me for 2 extra thousands island dressing since it already comes with one. The seem to always charge for the 2 and never give me the free one. Last time i asked one of the employees can i have a lil bag to put my condiments in and she said "WHY?" I told her which i think i should have to explain myself that i dnt like my condiments to be warm (since they place them in the box/bag with the rest of ur food.). The shocking things is the owner son heard when she told me that and he didn't redirect her or anything so i dnt even know why he is even there. There is another lady there which i think is a family member of there and she is awfully rude ive seen her be this way with not just me but other people as well. I ONLY SPEND MY MONEY HERE BEUCASE THE FATHER AND SON ARE AMAZING HUMBLE PEOPLE. read more

My family has been coming here for ages, which obviously tells you they're doing something right! We love their breakfast burritos, definitely satisfying but not too much food (get it with extra bacon, you'll thank me later)! The rest of the menu items are very good as well, extra crispy French fries are my moms favorite. The staff is always sooo friendly, I really enjoy coming here! Definitely recommend checking this spot out if you're in town. read more

We use to go to Douglas burgers when the kids were young.. we haven't been there for years! Took the family for lunch today and the people that work there are simply the best..!! The owner, and I think his son have been there for ever .. I truly can't tell you how at home they made us felt. The food was the same, tasty!! Go and enjoy the hospitality!! This is not a gourmet burger place.. but good charbroiled burgers, chicken ,frys, rings, tacos , malts etc.. old school.. mmmmmgood! read more

Undoubtedly the best burger in Whittier and/or surrounding areas. I have been eating here for 30 years and they have never disappointed me. Great service, always great food and quick service. Pretty much my favorite place to eat. I've been coming here since as long as I can remember. My grandpa introduced this place to us and we're still coming years later. Just an overall great place, customer service is amazing - the people who work there remember their customers and that's pretty note worthy, the restaurant is clean and I love that it's family owned. Highly recommend the bacon and egg sandwiches, I get it every time. The breakfast burritos are filling and they give you a pretty generous amount of fries. Highly recommend!! The owner goes out of his way to give you grade A customer service, he's a nice guy :) read more

Douglas has some really good food! I recommend the onion rings. They hook it up! Not to mention their cheeseburgers are really good as well. This isn't the type of place I would be able to go to all the time, otherwise I'd literally be rolling out after eating. It is a good place though when I'm in the mood for a good cheeseburger. The portions are so large that I could eat here for an early lunch and be satisfied the rest of the day. If your coming to Douglas, do yourself a favor and place whatever diet you happen to be on, on the backburner for 1 meal, and enjoy some great eats. Your taste buds will thank you for it. read more

Best burgers in town! We moved into the area from LA and decided to try Dougles instead of waiting at the long IN-N-Out Line! Glad we did. Why wait in line at the In-N-Out drive thru for 30 minutes when you can get your burger here in a fraction of the time, and get a lager burger for fraction of the cost. We eventually did try In-N-Out, and we decided that Dougle:s burgers were better! The chili fries are good too. We only order burgers and fries from Dougle's. read more

Great customer service. I had ordered a couple of steak sandwich dinners and asked them to make it more like a dinner and not a sandwich and they packaged everything separately. The chili fries were very good. I think the prices are fair compared to other places with similar menus. read more

Douglas has awesome REAL charbroiled burgers.Steak sandwiches are really good. I have not tried the chili fries but their regular fries and onion rings are excellent. My burger was really good with the ahi tuna slightly cooked but a little pink in the center. I would definitely get this again! The reason for the missing stars in my review is to do with the lack of cleanliness in the dining area. There were multiple dirty tables inside and outside. We had to kind of clean our table before we got our food which goes back to why ask for tip? They have 2 gender neutral restrooms and both were not great with missing paper towel and kind of dirty. I'm glad I had them again, but wouldn't dine in here.

First off, I got 3 burgers and 2 fries plus 2 Brazilian lemonades. While I was paying the screen gave me the option to enter my phone number and register to save points, well I wasn't even done registering when the cashier just processed the order and asked me to pay. I told him I was trying to register my phone and if he could get the option up again and he said no I can't. So he just said I had to pay for it and that he was sorry I couldn't get the points. This was extremely rude and felt rushed. I was the only person there ordering too and I told him it was my first time being there so I didn't appreciate the fact that he did that and didn't offer to fix the issue. Secondly, the lemonade was disgustingly bitter. It was gross and I had to throw both out. It tasted like they had blended overripe limes into the drink and they didn't even bother to see that the limes had gone bad. The burgers themselves were honestly average even with all the different flavors or toppings. I got the Nashville, Guadalajara and the Argentine burgers and they all tasted the same. Nothing special and actually tasted quite flavorless. The only difference was that the Guadalajara bun was soggy due to the juices that leaked to the bottom and it tasted mainly like cilantro. The Nashville burger tasted like bacon and that's it. Nothing special. The Argentine one had some flavor in the arugula/chimchurri sauce but aside from that again, the patty was bland. The Parmesan fries lacked flavor and the bacon/cheese fries were just sad. It felt like the just microwaved velvetta on top. Luckily the guy at the register disrupted my registration process because I will not be coming back. If you want plain burgers you're better off going to BK or McDonalds down the street.

On the other hand, they serve up a heaping plate of inconsistency. Three different items from their already small menu weren't available. No Al Pastor? Multiple beers tapped out? And this was early in the evening, not closing time. It made me wonder: supply chain problem, or did they just forget to go shopping? With only one server and one cook on duty, the whole place had a vibe of "we're trying, but please don't look too closely." Service was friendly, but the overall atmosphere felt a little uncomfortable, like something was just... off. As for the food: the Pumba tacos were excellent, the Gobernator shrimp taco was also good, and then there was the "side salad." Calling it a salad feels generous. It looked like someone raided the burger garnish tray and charged me $8 for it. Full iceberg leaves, a few tomato slices, a browning avocado, and purple onion just sat there staring at me, daring me to fight it. It was such a disaster I almost had to set up a GoFundMe page for it. The space itself is modern and vibrant, and the menu ideas are creative -- if only you can actually order them. Unfortunately, the potential doesn't outweigh the frustration. We won't be back.

Recently they made a mistake with my order where I called in 3 burritos and specifically asked for 1 without sausage and bacon. I double checked the menu beforehand and made that clear when ordering. After driving 25 minutes, I found that all 3 burritos had pork in them. When I called back, the employee that took my order told me "that's not what you ordered," which felt dismissive and a bit frustrating. She told me to come back with the burrito but I was already too far to drive back. Afterwards, I spoke with the manager and he offered to replace the burrito when I was back in the area, which I appreciated.

This was by far the worst service I've ever gotten in my life I was in the drive-through and there was a packed line I couldn't drive all the way up to the speaker because of the cars in front of me I heard her say hello how can I help you but I couldn't see the menu so I couldn't even say anything she came pretty nice I said can't you hear me hello I'm talking to you I asked her not to talk to me like that because that was not nice and she kept arguing back-and-forth when I put up to get my food even though I should've just drove away she told me with attitude how many sugars you want and when I said four please she just gave me one and when I said four I said please she said don't get attitude with me then I went home and had a stomach ache headache feel like I had food poisoning this is by far the worst service I've ever gotten from any restaurant I do not recommend this please read more

The female owner is a racist! My mom asked to add something onto our order and she said she couldn't add anything because my mom had an accent, my mother speaks English fluently. We then pulled forward in the drive through and asked her again if we could add another item. She started screaming at my mother trying to speak Spanish to her when we are clearly speaking to her in English. I asked to speak to someone else, and as I pointed for someone else to help me she closed the window and smashed my hand really hard! She opened the window again and spit at me!!! Disgusting, bottom of the barrel trash!!! I will never come here again and have filed a police report. I hope you go out of business lady! read more

I thought i would write a quick review on my favorite restaurant since i have been eating there since i was a kid. They have the best char broiled Cheeseburgers, Pastrami, Patty melt and chili cheese fries. I go to Douglas's for my lunch break every day. I also take my family there at least once a week because we will have fresh and tasty meal every time without having to spend much money. The place is always very clean and the waitresses are help full. They usually come over to our table to see if everything is fine or if we need anything. The food tastes great every time and the portions are always more than enough so i will order what ever i want without having to reorder. read more

I've been coming here for more than 20 years and its always been a great place to eat. The chili cheese fries are about the best I've ever had anywhere. Their chili rivals that you get at Tommy's by a mile. I am a huge fan of the Pastrami sandwich's they do here as well and my wife loves their fried zucchini. Good prices and you get a more than generous portion for the price. The same family has been running this joint for years and their efforts really show. Don't let the faded paint fool you. I stopped by Douglas on my way home, just 2.5 miles out of the way, hoping to enjoy a pastrami sandwich after a long time without one. Unfortunately, it was a complete letdown. The pastrami had no flavor and the texture was as if it had been sitting in water. To make matters worse, the bun was soggy and fell apart, making the whole sandwich practically inedible. My son and I stopped by the drive through, today, I never go there, but decided to try it,and so I ordered zucchini fries, I have to say I've tried different fast food hamburger joints but this place was the worst, the zucchini did not have any flavor , and it tasted like old cooking oil, and to top it off I didn't get any ranch dressing with my order. Really good place when you are on the go fast service and everything is so fresh. I was hungry so I was pleasantly surprised that Douglas Burger was close to everything and it was good food to boot. If ever I am hungry and in the area Douglas Burger has my vote every time. The best chili cheese fries in town. read more
