Went to the Chelsea Market one and it was packed with people lining for this cute mini doughnuts, so we had to wait for a while. It was quite an attraction while waiting to see how the doughnuts were formed automatically using this automatic dough piping machine before swimming in the oil. So, they served fresh doughnuts. We ordered two flavors, the special fall flavor (pumpkin one) and PBCP. The doughnuts came in bite sizes which was good for a small snack purpose for us. For the ones we ordered, the flavors were in powdered form, sprinkled on top of the doughnuts. The texture of the doughnuts was soft and a bit crispy on the outside, we liked it (we ate it when it was still warm). Taste wise it was so so, the doughnuts were more on the savory note, but the sprinkled flavors were a bit too sugary for us. I removed quite a bit of them before eating. It was the perfect dessert after our dinner. You can pick different toppings (up to 2 for the 6 donuts) and add on dipping sauces. We went with the salted caramel sugar and the vanilla glaze and sprinkles. Both were good, but the glaze with sprinkles were our fav! Either there wasn't enough flavor or it just wasn't strong enough, the donut wasn't as good as expected. If I were to describe this place in one word, I'd say.... Underwhelming? I was craving a nice delicious donut after my date in the city with my wife. I ordered the salted caramel (my wife loves caramel), pumpkin brûlée, nana coco latte, and glaze chocolate drizzle. As for the taste: it's a bit too sweet for me personally. The dough itself is nothing crazy & it almost just tastes like artificially flavored powdered donuts. But that's not the main reason i'm giving it a 2 star review.... No, the main reason is their packaging/presentation. Why would you waste your perfectly cute looking donut and completely destroy it in a tight ugly little brown paper bag that isn't appetizing or inviting at all? If it were me, I'd change that up and order tiny cute boxes or something of that sort to perfectly present these little gems that you claim is what your business is about. That way, the drizzle and the powder doesn't get all smudged on the sides of the bag when the customer opens it to actually eat the donuts. I will say that their only saving grace is their open concept interior design where customers can actually see their donuts being made. It's more of an experience really. "Why on earth did I pay $6 for 6 donut holes?" is what I keep asking myself. I ordered a 6 piece bag of "donuts" from their Chelsea Market and was appalled when I opened the bag to see the large crumbs they considered to be donuts. I feel completely ripped off and will definitely not be going there again. On top of that I couldn't even taste a difference between the flavors that I ordered and the "donuts" were cold! AND once I got up to the window I waited like 20 minutes to even place my order because a GrubHub delivery driver showed up to the front of the line and apparently was at the wrong location. The man employee working the window (because of COVID) stopped the entire line to call the other store where the correct order was placed to ask if they were authorized to make the order, then ask what that order was, then made the order and gave it to the GrubHub guy before even taking my order despite me waiting at the window during that entire debacle. People left the line and I contemplated it because it was ridiculous how long it took.
