Pork Boiled Wontons in Chili Sauce (6) 红油猪肉小馄饨
    Kate D.

The pork boiled Wontons are the best here! The chili sauce is also nicely sweet with just a small kick of spice. The promo during lunch is nice as it's a little cheaper. Soup dumplings were okay but I felt that the soup inside wasn't as hot and didn't have a lot in it so the inside soaked it up so fast. Would love to see a little more. Overall okay for a nice little lunch. Service was also great if the restaurant is slow as well.

Was surprised how quiet it was on a Saturday night. The dough zone locations in Washington state are always packed. However, the service was really great and the food exceeded my expectations! Everything tasted so good and we finished everything. The ambiance is so nice, the best dough zone location I've been to.

Weak, half bowl of soup that they tried to charge $9 for.

It keeps getting worse. It is never crowded. The service here Always sucks. Today, ordered beef stew noodle soup without noodles. What I got was the weakest bowl of soup ever. Didn't accept it. Avoid this place.

Dough Zone exceeded my expectations--it was wonderful! First, the restaurant is spacious and filled with natural light, complemented by soft lighting inside. It was very clean and well-maintained. The service was excellent and welcoming. I particularly liked the check-off order form, which made ordering food quick and easy. The food was equally impressive--hot, fresh, and delicious! We ordered the Pork Xiao Longbao, Dan Dan Noodles, and Green Onion Noodles. If I could, I would have ordered one of everything! I will definitely be back. Next time, I want to try the cucumber; chicken, and vegetable wonton soup, along with more dishes. You really need to check this place out!

Ambiance is ok. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it's like Chinese New Years is pandering to corporate planning. Beef dumplings were enjoyable. Dan Dan noodles were enjoyable too. Basically everything was "enjoyable" but every bite had one thought in my head, "Mala is better." Service was good. Would I come back? Probably not. Real Chinese food is just around the corner in Chinatown. Oh! Don't order the green onion pancake. That tasted like old dried out cardboard.

Hoa was a wonderful host! The Peking duck bun was unexpectedly filled with a spicy beef sandwich--an interesting twist. The pork and crab soup dumplings (xiao long bao) were savory and addictive. The Dan Dan noodles were spot-on, and the Q Bao was a delightful surprise--soft and fluffy all around, with a crispy fried bottom that added great texture. The filling was absolutely delicious. The restaurant has a minimalistic, open-seating design. There's an Easy Dumpling Club with rewards, making it even more enticing to return. This hidden gem, located off Westheimer near Royal Oaks, offers good service, quick turnaround, and a relaxed atmosphere with soft rock music playing in the background. Definitely worth a visit!

Stopped by on a whim for a quick bite an hour before closing. It was just me, three other patron and the staff. Things were calm as expected, and I loved the warm lighting, wooden decor and spacious seating. I started with a huge pot of chrysanthemum tea and cucumbers; the flavors were balance between sweet and sour with an excellent presentation; the sesame oil the perfect compliment. The scallion pancake was okay. There could be more and/or fresh onions to make the flavor more pungent. The beef pancake roll was awesome. It was very gingery and the beef cut was very chewy at times but I would order again. Dishes were prepared fast and looked beautiful. I absolutely need to try the dumplings and will be back.

I was craving dumplings and I found out about this spot through social media. I decided to give it a try. It was a clean and spacious restaurant. It was empty on a Sunday afternoon so there was plenty of seating. The menu is on a QR code and l loved that they show pictures of all of their food and drinks. There was a guy who I assume may be the manager, that was very helpful explaining the menu and food. Now to the food. The food was just ok. I was recommended the Dan Dan noodles which they make the noodles from scratch. It had a weird aftertaste so I did not enjoy it that much. Spicy (Ma La) Noodles was decent. The pan fried dumplings and the soup dumpling did not taste fresh. I did enjoy the Thai milk tea. There are better options of the same food at other spots.

The girls loved it. We tried a little of everything but the chicken soup dumplings were by far the hit Green onion pancakes were excellent. Service was great but we were 1 of three tables so not busy at all on a Friday afternoon.

10/10 everything. The food was fantastic! This time we ordered: - Dan Dan Noodles - Beef Potstickers - Pork Soup Dumplings - Beef Dumplings - Sweet and Sour Cucumber - Ube Boba (the best I have ever had) The service was great too! 10/10 Ambiance was good. We went late so it was pretty empty on a weekday.

5 Stars - Authentic Szechuan that absolutely nails the classics…read more During our short trip to Houston, as a custom, we were determined to find real Szechuan food, and luckily we found Hu's Kitchen. The location is a bit unassuming, and parking is definitely tough (the spaces are very shallow), but the second we walked through the doors and smelled the Szechuan peppercorns, I knew we were in exactly the right place. I generally judge a Szechuan restaurant by their 夫妻肺片 (Fuqi Feipian)--which they cleverly name "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" on the menu. They completely nailed it. The beef, tripe, and tendon were incredibly cohesive together, yet you could tell each component was prepared and marinated in a slightly different way to perfectly highlight its specific texture. The chili oil was right on the spot. We went through a massive bowl of rice just eating this dish alone. Honestly, if I weren't feeding a family of four, I could have just ordered that and been perfectly happy. While the Fuqi Feipian proves their skill with dry dishes, the 水煮魚片 (Fish in Szechuan Hot Chili Oil) proves their skill with wet ones. It's another must-order. The execution was flawless--we didn't just finish the tender fish chunks, we ate every last piece of cabbage soaked in that incredible chili broth. For my two daughters who can't handle the heat, we ordered the fried rice, garlic pork ribs with onion, and the 紅燒獅子頭 (Giant Meatball with Cabbage). The giant meatball was spectacular. The kids completely devoured it on their own, but I managed to steal a bite, and it instantly brought back childhood memories of exactly how this dish is supposed to taste. We also had the Dan Dan Noodles, which were great and rounded out the meal perfectly. I loved all of the dishes we tried. Should we ever find ourselves in Houston again, we will absolutely be revisiting this hidden gem.

No complaints here since we were starving from an 8 hour road trip. The Dan Dan Noodles...I had high expectations but sadly this dish fell short. I recommend Hu's Cooking to use a bigger bowl and more sauce because it was difficult to mix the noodles and the sauce wasn't...saucing, unfortunately. I wish there was more flavor in this dish. The Scallion Pancake was super over-fried and oily. See image in my review. The outer parts of the pancake were fried to a crisp and only a small circumference in the center stayed chewy. I know Chinese tends to be oily but this pancake soaked up way too much oil. Half a Peking duck: super great price for so much meat. The difficulty when eating this dish is gnawing the meat off the sharp bones of the duck. Mapo Tofu with white rice: pretty easy staple, no complaints here. Dinner on a Saturday was packed but we got seated quickly and food arrived fast.

From the moment the duck arrives at your table, you know you're in for something special. The skin is perfectly lacquered--beautifully crisp with an irresistible golden sheen--while the meat underneath is unbelievably tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. Every bite is a perfect balance of crispy skin, succulent duck, fresh cucumbers, scallions, hoisin sauce, and warm pancakes. It's not just dinner... it's an experience. What I love most is the consistency. Every single visit, the quality is exceptional. The presentation is elegant, the flavors are authentic, and the attention to detail is second to none. You can truly tell that the chefs take immense pride in their craft. The service is always warm, attentive, and welcoming, making every meal feel like a special occasion. Whether it's a date night, celebrating with friends, or simply satisfying a craving, Bamboo House never disappoints. 5/5 Stars isn't enough. If I could give them 10 stars, I absolutely would. Dry Fried Green Beans 5/5- these are the best green beans I have had in my life! I am not exaggerating like I will be thinking about these green beans all week. Do not hesitate to try these. Perfectly salty and good amount of crunch still left. The flavors they used are just perfect. Colorful Beef 4/5- The texture of the beef was so tender and not chewy at all like other places. The flavor was bright and the bell peppers were cooked through well. The issue I had with this dish was the sichuan peppercorns. I was just eating and not really looking at it super closely so I got a mouth full of these peppercorns and wow it was actually horrible. Just beware because the texture of these things are god awful and I think that they should be taken out like how a bay leaf is removed before serving. It was just really intense and it almost ruined the dish for me honestly. Other than that a great dish. My mouth was so numb but worth it. Dandan noodles 2/5- This was my first time trying this dish anywhere and I did not really enjoy it at all. The sesame flavor was really strong and it wasn't really salted at all. Very strange flavor. I will not order this again, however I do believe that the execution on this dish is great. There was a lot of sauce and the noodles were cooked well. I just really wish I liked the flavor of this dish and that's a personal problem. This dish also made my mouth numb but the flavor did not make it worth it. I wanted to like these so badly but I just couldn't do it. I will be back!
