During this Pandemic I have tried to support local businesses in Fairfield, my home town but was really turned off by the way I was treated by the person who answered the phone. It was my Birthday and wanted some different types of pizza for my family and I. We looked at the menu online and picked 6 different pizzas and a few appetizers. I knew they normally don't deliver but thought that due to the Pandemic they were like many other place. Plus, on the google page where I found the info it said they deliver. So, I called and ask to place an order for delivery and the rude person who answered the phone stated" we don't deliver, even on good days" and hung up. And the mixture of pecorino and mozz added some flare (along with pepper flakes). *Pinocchio Pizza - didn't try it but what I brought home to the Mrs was an emphatic thumbs up. The ingredients on all the pies were fresh. The dough was top 5 in NJ in my opinion. We did score the last piece of tiramisu which was made by her in house. Delicious! A nice ending to a great meal...well actually, her coworker was very welcoming and went to each table at the end of meals to offer some spirits from one of the local distilleries. Seriously, it was that good. It came with some olive oil and a small selection of olives. The only negative of this whole dining experience was that the olives were really spicy! I would have preferred if they were milder. We ordered the appetizer of meatballs and a margherita pizza. Meatballs were spot on. Super soft, made from a blend of beef, pork and veal with a perfectly matching sauce. I would order a tray of these any day for a party in lieu of making my own. The pizza were nicely cooked and a little charred from the wood burning oven, but not black like I have seen in other places. Why deal with cramped airline seats, 7 hours of babies crying, and the invasions of being groped by TSA to enjoy a delicious pizza in Italy, when you can come here and it's damned near the same thing. My husband and I started off with the arugula salad with parmesan. It was very good. Arugula was perfect and not too bitter. And the meatballs are GOOD. They're the perfect size, well-seasoned with plenty of marinara. My favorite pie is probably Mom's Delight (fresh mozz, prosciutto, arugula, parmigiano reggiano, olive oil) followed by The Farmer (San Marzano tomatoes, eggplant, Porcini mushroom, artichokes, soppressata, fresh mozz, fontina, parmigiano reggiano, basil, olive oil) - but you really can't go wrong with any of them. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant! It's a little hard to find - tucked back from the road a bit, but it is absolutely worth the trip. Spectacular pizza (we ordered the Porcini pie and The Farmer - both outstanding with respect to the quality of the ingredients and the perfectly cooked crust), and the meatball appetizer was a standout. We had plenty of everything to take home, and the bill was more than reasonable. Service was also great - nice and homey and not overly crowded, even on a Saturday night. Hands down this is the best Naples style pizza I've ever had outside of Italy. Carmine knows what he's doing and his passion for pizza is obvious. Each pizza is a masterpiece. The crust is blistered, yet perfectly chewy. The toppings are well thought out and balanced. We started with the Mozzarella en Corroza, light and airy fried dough stuffed with cheese. Think mozzarella sticks, but better. Then we tried the Pinocchio and White Clam & Shrimp pizzas. The Pinocchio comes with pistachio pesto and sausage. The White pie is a perfect blend of clams, shrimp and mozzarella. Both pies were spectacular and filling. We each brought back half a pie, but if we didn't eat an appetizer I'm sure we would have devoured the whole thing. The wood fired oven gives a nice smokey flavor and the ingredients on the pie where good quality. I really like the bread with olives and peppers that they serve in the beginning.
