I Love It Here! The atmosphere is fine... a simple storefront, but dressed up with some touches. So, not a place to go for a romantic dinner... here it's all about the food and the people (an amazing friendly staff... our waitress, Angela was fantastic... and Mike, the owner/chef, is genuine and into pleasing his guests any way he can... he came to the table to visit). If this place was in my area, I'd eat here once a week... it's that good. Pizza is king here... fantastic. But don't overlook the rest of the menu. The simple house salad was not that simple... check out my photo... loves the amazing heirloom tomatoes... so fresh. The other dishes we had... Meatballs, the Pasta w/ Pistachio Pesto, and the Chicken Cacciatore... all excellent. The start you off with freshly baked bread made from their pizza dough... hot and very good. Our Pepperoni and Onion Pizza was superb... perfectly cooked! Any pizza lover will be happy here. The fact that it's BYOB is the icing on the cake... so great to be able to take a bottle from your cellar and enjoy this great chow. Most places in this price point will give you basic wine glasses. Not here. Consistent with their excellent commitment to pleasing their guests, they provide really nice glasses... I love that! We figured we'd cap off this great evening with a pumpin tartufo ice cream to share. I loved the consistency of it... really good and a perfect way to end a fabulous meal. One note of caution... Double Zero is so good and affordable... if you dine here you will be hooked. You will be compelled to return again and again. read more

Amazing pizzas! The dough is so good; it's well seasoned, thin and has the appropriate amount of char. The toppings are great too. We tried 4 pizzas there and all of them were great! The only issue is they only take cash and there are only a couple tables. read more

Cash only. The pizza is not worth the inconvenience of cash only. Owner was nice enough, but needs to get a credit card machine. Lost additional sale because I didn't want to give him all my cash. read more

Double Zero never disappoints. Neapolitan style pizza is spot on (and I've had the genuine article.) Try the arugula salad, you'll get your greens and then some. Steak sandwich is stellar. This is Fairfield's best kept secret. Staff is always friendly and willing to please. read more

Loved the food loved the service . My sever Bryan was so lovely. Good energy , very helpful with special requests all around an amazing server. The reason for my 3 stars instead of 5 is because I stopped the other server Anton and asked politely for another round. Unfortunately I don't know his name so I referred to him as sweetheart. When he arrived with the drinks I said thank you so much and again referred to to him as sweetheart again when he snapped at me and said my name is Anton. I apologized and he went through all the other names he doesn't like and abruptly walked away. This was not only rude but unnecessary. Other than that I love it here . read more

Double Zero Pizza - Arbiatta pizza not too spicy delicious - Pizza Near Me - Fairfield, New Jersey

During this Pandemic I have tried to support local businesses in Fairfield, my home town but was really turned off by the way I was treated by the person who answered the phone. It was my Birthday and wanted some different types of pizza for my family and I. We looked at the menu online and picked 6 different pizzas and a few appetizers. I knew they normally don't deliver but thought that due to the Pandemic they were like many other place. Plus, on the google page where I found the info it said they deliver. So, I called and ask to place an order for delivery and the rude person who answered the phone stated" we don't deliver, even on good days" and hung up. I tried to call back but the phone just rang and finally went to voicemail. Sucks for them, I will never order from there again and will be telling my Fairfield friends this story as often as I can. Not a way to treat customers. read more

Very true Classic pizza pie, delicious flavor, amazing wood fire crust, could eat this all week ! Very friendly owner. True local spot with a traditional look at feel to the place. read more

We've lived in the area for a long time and have tried basically everyone's Pizza, but Double Zero is absolutely the best. We were looking for a place to go last night for Pizza, and I found Double Zero on Yelp, saw great reviews and said, let's try it. We stopped in at Dinner time. The owners were so personable, so we talked to them for a bit, had our Pizza made to order, and took a Lunch Menu with us so that I can order during the week from my nearby office. read more

A shockingly good pizzeria and restaurant run by people who care about their customers. Extraordinary quality in every ingredient and wonderful, thoughtful combinations by a chef who knows both authenticity and creativity. True Neapolitan pizza, in a wood burning oven. Creamy, sweet mozzarella. An arugula salad perfectly fresh, crisp and dressed, with butter greens matched to a sweet balsamic dressing, sharp parmesan cheese, and fire roasted peppers. The couple who run the restaurant are warm and inviting. The waitress is sweet. I cannot wait to head back there to try the pasta and poultry items. read more

It took me a while to get to DZP but it was well worth the wait. This place might be the best pizza in NJ and top 10 in NYC metro area. It's as good as Arturo's which means it's as good as Razza. Wood fired pizza perfection. House made mozzarella, great uncooked sauce and just an amazing crust. The only downside is limited seating. You must eat this pizza right out of the oven. If the place is full, eat it in your car it is that good. read more

If you are a true Italian and have eaten REAL pizza in Italy.....get here NOW! I honestly felt like I was back in Italy. It is a small no frills type of place and guess what? They don't need all the fancy stuff, the food and service speaks for itself! They bring you a beautiful bread plate with spicy olives, peppers and olive oil. We had the Gem salad (arugula, hazelnuts, grapes) I was overwhelmed at the mix of favors. Calamari was on point, light and delish. Not over fried or greasy. We had a pizza with kalamata olives that was one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. The waitress was a pleasure and the gentleman making the pizza even came out to see if all was ok. I will return soon read more

I am convinced that route 46 is a highway to pizza heaven and If so Double Zero Pizza stand at the gates. Mike is an expert and the craft of making wood fired pizza. In all honesty I am appalled that I even have to write this review during a pandemic but feel that it is well deserved after the treatment I received. I tried to order dinner on the way home tonight when a very rude gentleman answered the phone. I simply asked if the porcini pie had truffle oil (since I couldn't see the menu as I was driving and I am pregnant and turned off by it). His answer was "we don't serve synthetic oil and you can go buy your pizza elsewhere." He then hung up on me. All I have to say is shame on you for acting like a jerk and I will never order from your establishment again. read more

Very unassuming spot (not the most aesthetically pleasing from the outside). Inside it's modern and cozy. The aroma of pizza's being made is so nice. It was rated one of the top pizza spots in NJ. And rightfully so! Delicious, fresh pizza made with love. The owner (Mia) was super friendly and busy. My pizza connoisseur and I ordered three pies and skipped all apps. The pizza is wood fired and they use quality ingredients. She started out by bringing us some bread which is their pizza dough sliced up. Accompanied by olives and some seasoned olive oil...sh*t I could of just eaten that all night but don't, because the pizza is what you come for. *White Clam and Shrimp Pie - good but not great. I was a little disappointed with the clams but surprisingly the shrimp were tasty. Needed a little more garlic and clams. *Mom's Pie - best of all three. The meatballs were spot on. And the mixture of pecorino and mozz added some flare (along with pepper flakes). *Pinocchio Pizza - didn't try it but what I brought home to the Mrs was an emphatic thumbs up. The ingredients on all the pies were fresh. The dough was top 5 in NJ in my opinion. We did score the last piece of tiramisu which was made by her in house. Delicious! A nice ending to a great meal...well actually, her coworker was very welcoming and went to each table at the end of meals to offer some spirits from one of the local distilleries. THAT was the perfect end to a filling meal. They are BYOB so bring a nice bottle of wine. There is a spot next door but it seemed kind of seedy after reading all the reviews and may be used as a last resort. ENJOY! read more

I have never heard anyone ever mention this place. It is a small place on the side that you can fly by without noticing. By the time you notice it, it's too late to pull in. Drove by it for 10 years and said one day...one day I have to check it out. So I did. Wood everywhere for the oven. Pizza is like something you would find in a European shop. It's great. I think husband and wife. They know their stuff. read more

The best pizza in New Jersey, visited for the first time today, excellent customer service. I met Mike who offered us an original drink from Italy and he made us feel at home and very welcome. He explained how his authentic Italian pizza was made with all ingredients from Italy. it was amazing to see how the pizza was made with wood burning fire oven. Double Zero pizza is cash only and is located in Route 46 in Fairfield, NJ. The best pizza ever it is a must visit because I will definitely go back! read more

This is a rocking good pizza! The owners are so nice and helpful. The dough is delicious and while I have other wood fired pizza places I also really like, a few things here stand out: - the pizza has enough sauce to carry the flavors and keep things moist (at some other Neapolitan Pizza places I usually have to ask for a side of sauce to dip my crusts but here that was not necessary since the sauce was enough) - the fresh mozzarella is a really noticeable in its difference - the use of fresh basil and a drizzle of olive oil before serving really adds an authentic and delicious twist read more

Double Zero Pizza - Pizza Near Me - Fairfield, New Jersey

Don't let the outside of the building deceive you. We were really surprised at the ambiance, service and most of all the food! The dining room is quaint and dimly light. There are stacks of wood everywhere which is used for the wood burning oven that makes that most delicious Italy style pizza. Upon seating, you are gifted with an amazingly delicious loaf of bread. Seriously, it was that good. It came with some olive oil and a small selection of olives. The only negative of this whole dining experience was that the olives were really spicy! I would have preferred if they were milder. We ordered the appetizer of meatballs and a margherita pizza. Meatballs were spot on. Super soft, made from a blend of beef, pork and veal with a perfectly matching sauce. I would order a tray of these any day for a party in lieu of making my own. The pizza were nicely cooked and a little charred from the wood burning oven, but not black like I have seen in other places. Topped with fresh mozzarella, sauce, basil and olive oil, it was delicious. I would not hesitate to come back here. Owners (I think) were very pleasant and appreciated the business. I am looking forward to returning to try some of the other menu items. read more

Awesome pizza. like no other in NJ. You have to try it to believe me. Perfect soft chewy and airy dough. real wood oven. This is no ordinary pizza. read more

So I read the reviews and saw people claiming this was the closest you can get to legit Neapolitan pizza, and after coming back from visiting family who live in Avellino, 45minutes outside of Napoli, I was staying away from pizza (I was afraid it wouldn't stand up), but figured I'd have to try it. Well, shoot. Why deal with cramped airline seats, 7 hours of babies crying, and the invasions of being groped by TSA to enjoy a delicious pizza in Italy, when you can come here and it's damned near the same thing. Not only are the pizzas the best you'll ever have (although every review here says that), the entrees are spectacular as well. We've been a few times and always love it. You can't beat the fact it's a BYOB place as well. Pack a bottle of wine or two, bring some friends, and you've got a recipe for a budget-conscious amazing meal. To sum up: There are many other places to get pizza in the area. You shouldn't go there; go here. I mean it. read more

The staff is very friendly and accommodating here. The waitress saw I was cold and she immediately lowered the air conditioning for me without me asking. My husband and I started off with the arugula salad with parmesan. It was very good. Arugula was perfect and not too bitter. It was nice they gave you some fresh double zero bread and olives with your salad. Then the star of the meal, the mom's pie. The dough was chewy and perfectly done. The meatballs were delicious with a hint of spice. The tomatoes were sweet and the fresh mozzarella was really good. We went hime full and satisfied. I can't wait to come back again. I found my new favorite pizzeria. read more

Yes, yes, YES to this place. I am ALWAYS in the mood for wood-fired, Neapolitan-style pizza. Sure, I have my favorites in Jersey City, but after living up here nearly two years I had hope that I would find something comparable. Several times we picked up pizza to go, and the quality DID not suffer. One time, we ordered probably 10 different pies to go, and they were all amazing. It's not a huge place, and I haven't eaten there on a weekend, but I've been there during the middle of the week and it is a solid 5 stars from me. Attentive service from the minute we sat down, and some seriously delicious wood-fired dough/bread was immediately placed in front of us. Bread so good, you have to get the meatballs to go with them. And the meatballs are GOOD. They're the perfect size, well-seasoned with plenty of marinara. My favorite pie is probably Mom's Delight (fresh mozz, prosciutto, arugula, parmigiano reggiano, olive oil) followed by The Farmer (San Marzano tomatoes, eggplant, Porcini mushroom, artichokes, soppressata, fresh mozz, fontina, parmigiano reggiano, basil, olive oil) - but you really can't go wrong with any of them. Love Double Zero and am already dreaming about returning... read more

Very small three tables but the pizza is outstanding!! highly recommend!

Awesome pizza and service! It's BYOB so we brought a bottle of white and they put it in a bucket of ice for us. They gave us really good and fresh baked complimentary pizza dough bread with olive oil, olives and pepper which tasted great. The arugula Parmesan salad was huge and fresh and the dressing was really good and the grape tomatoes and roasted peppers were also great. The two pizzas we got were really awesome - the margherita and popeye with spinach and ricotta. The dough was chewy and delicious and both pizzas tasted amazing - super flavorful. Service was very attentive and the staff was nice. Definitely recommend this restaurant and I definitely plan on returning here!! read more

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant! It's a little hard to find - tucked back from the road a bit, but it is absolutely worth the trip. Spectacular pizza (we ordered the Porcini pie and The Farmer - both outstanding with respect to the quality of the ingredients and the perfectly cooked crust), and the meatball appetizer was a standout. We had plenty of everything to take home, and the bill was more than reasonable. Service was also great - nice and homey and not overly crowded, even on a Saturday night. And can we talk about the pizza dough/bread and spicy olives that come out as a complementary appetizer before the meal? Unbelievably tasty, and the quality of the olive oil is superior. Can't wait to go back and sample the rest of the menu! read more

Amazing pizza and very friendly owners. We loved the wood fired pizza and can't wait to go back!

My gosh! The pizza was amazing and delicious!! You're got to try this. Moms and pistachios pesto was a delight to the tastebuds.

Hands down this is the best Naples style pizza I've ever had outside of Italy. Carmine knows what he's doing and his passion for pizza is obvious. Each pizza is a masterpiece. The crust is blistered, yet perfectly chewy. The toppings are well thought out and balanced. We started with the Mozzarella en Corroza, light and airy fried dough stuffed with cheese. Think mozzarella sticks, but better. Then we tried the Pinocchio and White Clam & Shrimp pizzas. The Pinocchio comes with pistachio pesto and sausage. The White pie is a perfect blend of clams, shrimp and mozzarella. Both pies were spectacular and filling. We each brought back half a pie, but if we didn't eat an appetizer I'm sure we would have devoured the whole thing. We're looking forward to returning and sampling more of his great menu, including the Nutella Pizza!!! read more

Food here is top notch and the service was great too. The pizza is more Italian style than American style which for me is a good thing. The wood fired oven gives a nice smokey flavor and the ingredients on the pie where good quality. I really like the bread with olives and peppers that they serve in the beginning. Their chicken parmesan was amazing with great sauce and tender texture. I believe this place is BYOB which we did not know.
