What a wonderful experience! We came here on our extended honeymoon end of June. This restaurant was recommended to us by a traveling buddy of ours and We were greeted by a bald headed gentlemen opening the door for us and being so friendly. He treated us like family. We first noticed the neat wood decor, and was seated by our waitress, who is the owner, Mila. She was the sweetest lady ever. She was so helpful when we had questions about the menu. The food was out in no time. We ordered an pizza as our appetizer, then ordered our entrees. Our meal was delicious and quite filling. Mika even topped off our meal with a little treat. Wow, what a pizza. I only tried the Margherita but that was one of the top 10 pizzas I had in my life. Wow. The best in NJ. Wow. The dough, the quality of mozzarella cheese, the olive oil, the sauce come together to make one heck of pizza. Seriously wow. I finished the whole 12" by myself. I can't believe there is such a place in this nondescript, rather ugly small strip mall right on Rt 46. This place will fit right in in NYC/Brooklyn. The star of the show is the real hardwood fire oven. The temperature is like over 800 degrees. The best ingredients cooked in this oven with the care they put in make this place like it could be featured on TV good. I see they have a large dining room also. I am not sure if their pastas or other items on the menu are any good but I surely will try all the pizzas and other items very soon. The people there were lovely also. Just go and try. read more

Please don't let the name or location fool you. Double Zero is not your average run of the mill pizzeria. It's an upscale Italian restaurant that specializes in old world style pizza. They use only the best high quality fresh ingredients. All dishes and pizzas are prepared in an authentic wood burning brick oven. The pizzas are flame kissed with just the right amount of charring. Great salads too. Very nice dining room and a friendly staff. The prices aren't cheap but they are certainly in line with the quality that you receive. It's BYOB which helps keep the cost down. Not seeing it, from the good reviews. It was nothing like any of those that claimed it good. I ate there, to try it out, saw some good reviews and some not good but the negative ones, I've found after the fact, usually are most accurate. So our pizza was really mediocre, was not even remotely crisp at all (AND sauce bland and the fresh mozz. cheese not even cooked, as in not even melted on the pie) and ALL are red flags of not being a good pizza, since that fancy oven is supposed to produce a very crispy product too! Doubt it was even near 900 degrees required. I blame all of this on the owner, the pizza and sauce and cheese, so uneventful and not very good, never again would I go there and add to that, it was fairly pricey too. This place has pretty damn good Pizza. Unfortunately there were some complications with the experience of this place that one should be wary of. I had an initial episode of sheer panic upon requesting a lemon for my water. The lemon I received was the most depressed and emaciated lemon that I have ever had the misfortune of laying my eyes upon. Thankfully the bread my table received shortly after this was fantastic. I had the arugula salad which was also really good. The pizza itself was really tasty but be warned, this restaurant is definitely more of a "quality over quantity" kinda of place. The pizza pies range from 12-16 dollars and yet they are rather small. Thankfully the pies are very rich so nobody left unsatisfied (two pies fed 3 people). What makes this restaurant three stars instead of four were my tables order of muscles. One could describe our muscles as rancid, as if shat out of the bowels of moby dick or some other eldritch sea monster. Thankfully our servers agreed, which though a relief, begged the question as to why they served us the wretched muscles in the first place! One server actually turned to other and said "I told you those didn't smell right"...ridiculous! Even as I type this review my fingers run foul with the pungent oily stench of rotten muscles... Wow! I know why everyone loves this place! Right away when you walk in it's warm and inviting. All of the guests seemed to be enjoying their meals and having fun. I got my order to go. I ordered the margherita pizza and the pistachio tartufo for dessert. Both were beyond outstanding! And the customer service was excellent!! They were all so very nice and made me feel very welcome! Average pizza - I'm used to NY - NJ style thin crust pizza that with the freshest ingredients. It was worth a try, but should have waited until I got back home for what we really like. This place is probably the BEST IN THE GARDEN STATE--just a mile or so away from the Willowbrook Mall in Fairfield. We ordered the popeye and moms pie along with the spring salad. First and foremost, the dough is one of the best I have ever had. Chewy and fire kissed. Brick oven perfection. On the next go around I will probably not order the popeye pizza as it didn't have sauce on it, but that is my fault for not really reading the description. The moms pie was incredible all around. Also, the salad, for $11, was very good. One word of advice, the size of the pizzas is a bit on the small size (maybe 12"), so get a couple if you have a few people. I will never know another pizza place. And neither should you. My husband and I came here after our plumber recommended it. He said that the calamari was divine. He wasn't kidding. The pies are 12 inch personal sizes and the flour--which is called double zero--comes from Italy and is entirely different than any American pizza joint. The menu is varied and has dinner options in addition to pizza. We finished our meal with the Nutella pie and 2 cappuccinos. The owner, Mila, is lovely and the ambience is quaint and welcoming with views of the oven from nearly every seat in the house. I cannot highly recommend this place enough. Truly, it is the best pie we've had in a long time and a lovely experience. Bring your friends and spread the word. We want this place to stay open a long, long time. read more

The best pizza ever!!!! We ordered the margherita pizza and it was made perfectly. The crust was not burnt but cooked just right. It was also light and had a fluffy texture. There was not too much sauce, which is the way we liked it. The cheese was unreal. The extra virgin olive oil was the final touch. It was so delicious. Highly recommend this place. Place was good but i don't think its 5stars. We walked in and awkwardly stood in the pizza parlor portion of the restaurant for about 2 minutes before a waitress finally saw us. . Ate dinner here on national pizza day, about 5-7 tables filled. Clams appetizer in garlic/whitewine was good and so was the free bread/olives they gave you. Calabrian chili was a nice add. Ordered margarita and sausage/peso pie. Asked for both "well done", both were not even close to well done or crispy. Soggy middle on both, lots of oil on the pesto pie. The dough is just the right firmness/softness, the crust burnt from the oven is just the right amount, the toppings are in perfect balance with the dough, and the taste is heavenly.
