Home fries

Seating and service was quick and easy. Menu served most of what you'd expect at a typical diner. Similarly, the vibe is juke box diner with dessert displays and a familiar menu. Didn't get to take photos of all we ordered but I was disappointed in the home fries. The texture and taste wasn't cooked all the way, except for some burnt sides. Wings were not juicy but maybe I'll ask for sauce next time.

I was in north Baltimore for about a week recently. I tried this place because it was on the road and needed breakfast. I came back for 2 more breakfast meals because I couldn't find anything else that compares to it in the area. So, I ate here 3 times in 1 week. There's really not a better compliment. Double T has many positive qualities: it's spacious; has a ginormous number of booths; portions are generous; and the vibe is relaxed. The breakfast offerings are endless. If you can't find what you want for breakfast here, then you're impossible to please. Eggs Benedict can be ordered in many ways. I stuck with the classic version on 2 visits and wasn't disappointed. They cook their breakfast meats carefully and pancakes are on point. The home potatoes are traditional, if pedestrian, so, on one occasion, I asked for and got some lovely onion rings as a substitute. I do like a big breakfast--and this diner delivers on that. Finally, I spied a Smith Island Cake in the large bakery display case in the front. I got a slice to-go. Their recipe is right on the money.

My family and I used to come here often and have started to again. Everytime we have, the place is chaotic and very loud. Theres way too many tables in the dining areas. Its very full! The servers are always stressed and overwhelmed. The managers aren't much help either. Instead of helping, they just boss the servers around. The menu is huge! The food is pretty good. I have only had one thing, I didnt like and that was their "pickled" beets. They aren't really pickled. They are like soaked in an italian dressing and are sweet. The portion sizes are good and filling. The vegetable soup is the best! Overall, if you like a very loud and crowded place, with decent food. Its the place for you!

Typical diner food, but our server was super sweet and attentive. They have a HUGE food selection; the menu is actually a really overwhelming. I ordered sweet potatoes and some were not fully cooked. Also ordered "jumbo wings" but they were seriously the tiniest wings I've ever seen.

Most dishes here are reliable. The fried shrimp are freakin' awesome. The only complaint I have is that, for the past two visits, the cream of crab soup has become watery / runny which is disappointing.

Manhattan clam chowder and house salad w blue cheese

It prob seems odd, but this has been a fave NYE dining spot for our family for a while now. It is close to home, there are large portions, it is not too crowded, and they get you in and out when you have somewhere to be to ring in the new year. This year was no different. As per usual it was just the four of us (sister almost always has to work), and we were able to order quickly. Cups of soup and side salads were brought out first, and then our mains. The Manhattan clam chowder was too salty for me and my brother; my parents enjoyed their chicken noodle. Blue cheese dressing for the salad was solid, and the greens are always fresh but where were the cukes? I think I had two cherry tomatoes, some raw onion and a pepperoncini, the rest was iceberg lettuce. Not bad by any stretch, just a bit plain. Dad always enjoys the pork chops, Mom liked the chicken pot pie, and my brother created his own pasta dish of marinara, broccoli, mushrooms and spinach. He said the sauce was a touch sweet but was full enough from the huge portion to be happy to have leftovers for another day. I like the chicken Francaise with steamed broccoli instead of rice. Leftovers were a great lunch a few days later. Dessert was a chocolate cake w chocolate mousse and a cute ganache mouse (mousse?) on top. Thanks to COVID we had no party plans this year, so a quick prosecco toast back at my parents' house ended the evening. Happy New Year!

Our friendly waitress!

We took a seat at the front, and a bit later, the server got the drinks, it was a long pause to order the meal, she said she could not see us from her area. I got the chicken wings, naked and mild. It came with celery and ranch. Added on an order of fresh cut fries. You can also get your wings battered. You can tell this place has regulars and they love it there. We had to wait a bit for help since there was only 1 bartender who was also the only server. But she was super friendly and personable. I ordered a cheesesteak and tater tots. The cheesesteak was surprisingly delicious! I wasn't sure what to expect but it was great. The tater tots were crispy but had no flavor. Unfortunately it did take a bit to get our food, and our one friend got hers about 15 minutes before the rest of us did. But in their defense, the kitchen is tiny and only has 1 cook. Overall we had a good time and I can see us putting this spot in our rotation.

We were surprised how barren the restaurant was at 8:30PM on a Saturday night. Noise level wasn't an issue at all. My brother had been here prior and recommended this place. River stone burger 8/10: Can't go wrong with this option. We got it done medium rare. The bacon was thick. Tomato and shrimp bruschetta 8/10: Presentation was beautiful. Very flavorful Watermelon refresher 9/10: Would order again! It was refreshing. Perfect drink for someone with a sweet tooth. Nachos 7/10: I wish the chips themselves were warm. Nicely decorated and comfortable seating at bar. Super friendly bartender!! Like 10 star. Very attentive and very welcoming. Always checking in to make sure all is good. Ordered a margarita that was tasty. Also ordered a capri martini (think lemon) that was subpar. Manhattan was ordered and was very good. Lots of drink options and lots of beet on tap. Ordered a flatbread pizza that was good and the pesto chicken sandwich (no bun) that was delicious! Sandwich was served with house made chips that were worth fighting over. Tons of specials. Just a terrific place to perch. Will be back. They even have Keno!

I popped in to The Local with one of my friends for a much needed happy hour and we were both in consensus we had to come back to try some other menu items and specials. $7 for the house Sangria and a mule of the day, was a great start to the evening and quite tasty. We both dined on the burger and fries and enjoyed the dish. I would've like a bit of seasoning on the burger patties and maybe a cheddar or American cheese, but that's my personal preference. I asked for the black truffle aioli on the side and that was definitely the way to go to really be able to taste the black truffle. And might I say the aioli was delicious. Our waitress was great and very attentive. The Local offers different specials on various nights and even does live music on Friday nights. On the plus side my family enjoyed the ribs and crab balls. On the negative side, the fish in my fish and chips was painfully thin and small. Normally you get a nice chunky piece of fish when you get fish and chips. Not only that, l've never had fish and chips where the skin was on the fish. I left most of the skin behind, but ate some of it because the portion was so small. I had to eat something. Please have the chef look up what fish and chips is supposed to look like. Despite being the only server, our wait person was outstanding - it wasn't their fault that they had to handle the entire dining room. . Also appreciated the carafe of water on the table - but why no ice -had to drink lukewarm water. Make sure to ask for prices upfront and verify-for a single crabcake entrée, we paid $63 when it's advertised online as 30. Let the buyer beware.. Wouldn't feel a need to return at this point, too many other better options.
