You pay at the register however after the bill I decided that I needed a small carryout container. Our waitress was no where to be found. Seating and service was quick and easy. Menu served most of what you'd expect at a typical diner. Similarly, the vibe is juke box diner with dessert displays and a familiar menu. Didn't get to take photos of all we ordered but I was disappointed in the home fries. The texture and taste wasn't cooked all the way, except for some burnt sides. I was in north Baltimore for about a week recently. I tried this place because it was on the road and needed breakfast. I came back for 2 more breakfast meals because I couldn't find anything else that compares to it in the area. So, I ate here 3 times in 1 week. There's really not a better compliment. Double T has many positive qualities: it's spacious; has a ginormous number of booths; portions are generous; and the vibe is relaxed. The breakfast offerings are endless. If you can't find what you want for breakfast here, then you're impossible to please. Eggs Benedict can be ordered in many ways. I stuck with the classic version on 2 visits and wasn't disappointed. They cook their breakfast meats carefully and pancakes are on point. The home potatoes are traditional, if pedestrian, so, on one occasion, I asked for and got some lovely onion rings as a substitute. I do like a big breakfast--and this diner delivers on that. Finally, I spied a Smith Island Cake in the large bakery display case in the front. I got a slice to-go. Their recipe is right on the money. read more

My family and I stopped in for a dinner after an extremely long day at the hospital. We enjoyed three dinners. Chicken Chesapeake, hamburger and fries, and a chicken sandwich and green beans. I could not let this go .... I have not eaten at Double T Diner (Catonsville) in, literally, years. Now, I remember why I stopped going. My order was completely wrong. I order a turkey dinner. I opened the tray, and it was just a gob of dressing covering everything. You literally could not see what was underneath. First of all, it was the wrong dressing. Secondly, the mashed potatoes were missing, And lastly, there were baked apples mixed in underneath all of that slob pile of gravy....baked apples?!!! It was horrible!. When I called the restaurant, they said that I had to get a refund through DoorDash, because I had ordered online. I didn't quite understand that, because I went and picked it up myself. It wasn't delivered. And of course, DoorDash didn't have any record of my order online. I will NEVER go back to that place, nor recommend it. read more

The waitstaff seriously knows how to interact with their customers; the staff has gotten to know our family as we've been coming for years, even to the previous location. Food-wise, I've always had fine experiences, but my sister has had hair in her food numerous times including our experience today. However, the staff handles with ease and very kindly replaces the food, ensuring optimal freshness and quality. Today, I ordered the italian breakfast bowl, and wouldn't be super inclined to order it again. I have an upcoming surgery and am under orders to avoid foods with skin, so I asked to not have onion. This request was not acknowledged. It was also absolutely smothered in cheese to an overwhelming amount where I couldn't even finish the bowl. You're best off here ordering what they do best -- pancakes, breakfast meats (ask for your bacon to be extra crispy ), omelettes, and corned beef hash for the optimal experience. Their greek food especially is DELICIOUS -- their moussaka is probably the best thing on the menu. Made the mistake of ordering from this location on Door Dash. The food was wrong, who makes a bacon and egg sandwich on white bread and not toast. Also a club sandwich with turkey and bacon, no ham? No mayo on the sandwich either with it on the side...it's a triangle, how do I do that? Not to mention the order of grits that was completely missed. My family and I used to come here often and have started to again. Everytime we have, the place is chaotic and very loud. Theres way too many tables in the dining areas. Its very full! The servers are always stressed and overwhelmed. The managers aren't much help either. Instead of helping, they just boss the servers around. The menu is huge! The food is pretty good. I have only had one thing, I didnt like and that was their "pickled" beets. They aren't really pickled. They are like soaked in an italian dressing and are sweet. Service was very slow, but it wasn't very crowded. I've been one other time before, and the breakfast was very good. Today we came in at noon. We ordered the grilled cheese that was basically two pieces of bread and 3 slices of American cheese that weren't even melted. I got some fried shrimp. My sister and I ate lunch at the double t diner on Valentines Day. We bought some chocolate covered strawberries to take home. Unfortunately for us we didn't know they were frozen and turned to mush when defrosted in the fridge. Instead of being dipped in chocolate they appeared to be covered with chocolate syrup. It prob seems odd, but this has been a fave NYE dining spot for our family for a while now. It is close to home, there are large portions, it is not too crowded, and they get you in and out when you have somewhere to be to ring in the new year. This year was no different. As per usual it was just the four of us (sister almost always has to work), and we were able to order quickly. Cups of soup and side salads were brought out first, and then our mains. The Manhattan clam chowder was too salty for me and my brother; my parents enjoyed their chicken noodle. Blue cheese dressing for the salad was solid, and the greens are always fresh but where were the cukes? I think I had two cherry tomatoes, some raw onion and a pepperoncini, the rest was iceberg lettuce. Not bad by any stretch, just a bit plain. Dad always enjoys the pork chops, Mom liked the chicken pot pie, and my brother created his own pasta dish of marinara, broccoli, mushrooms and spinach. He said the sauce was a touch sweet but was full enough from the huge portion to be happy to have leftovers for another day. I like the chicken Francaise with steamed broccoli instead of rice. Leftovers were a great lunch a few days later. Dessert was a chocolate cake w chocolate mousse and a cute ganache mouse (mousse?) on top. I was debating whether or not to do a review on this place. I don't like to give bad reviews, but I feel obligated to give HONEST reviews, so I finally decided to do it so that no one else has to go through what I did. So first and foremost, the food is pretty good. Nothing sensational, but it's good for a quick hot meal. Now my issue, as several others have mentioned is the service. My family and I went here on a Sunday night at 8:20. There were 2 signs outside that clearly stated that the last SEATING was at 9pm so we figured that we were good. Not so. Our waitress was very courteous, took us to our table, and politely let us know that the kitchen would be closing soon. So we ordered our food, it came promptly, however, halfway through our meal, an older man whom I'm assuming is the owner or manager, let us know that the restaurant was closed. He had mentioned that if we didn't have the kids with us, we would not have been able to be seated. I mentioned that the signs outside said that the last seating was at 9 pm, and he pretty much ignored that. He must have realized how bad this was making him look, and then he went on to say to take our time and let the kids eat, but he clearly wanted us to leave. Now my issue is that if you close at 9, and want customers gone by 9, you can't have the last SEATING at 9. My next more important issue is that if you seat customers, you should NEVER rush them through their meal. If you seat them, be prepared to allow them to eat in peace. The whole experience rubbed me the wrong way...we won't be back. read more

Finally decided on fish and chips from the very extensive menu. Chicken Noodle Soup was included which was really good. When the main course came I was surprised at the large size of the 3 pieces of fried fish. I asked the waitress to please bring Malt Vinegar. She was totally clueless and finally brought me some wine vinegar poured in a saucer. She never heard of malt vinegar on fish. I had the whole serving of fish and fries boxed and took it home where it was immediately put down my garbage disposal. For the $18.00 bill for the food I consumed a glass of coke and a small serving of chicken noodle soup. When checking out the clerk was very irritated that I would not purchase a bag costing 5 cents to put the container with the fish and fries in. We ordered brunch from double T on a Sunday morning and unfortunately it was so disappointing we won't be doing that again. I got French toast which was bland and kind of sad and my husband got a western omelet and specifically said no cheese. Well the omelet came with an insane amount of American cheese which is disgusting and made it completely inedible for him. I never understand why diners assume you want cheese (plus he had specifically said no cheese), especially American which might be the most disgusting-not-even-real-cheese ever. He also got a side of bacon which wasn't really cooked, so he had to cook it more and make his own breakfast at home. What a waste and disappointment. read more

My wife and I have been steady customers for many years and when they shut down based on an agreement for a CVS store on their tract of land they closed until CVS completed their construction and the original complete Diner was moved a short distance after well over a years wait. fortunately there was another Double T off of Pulaski Highway that we patronized during the wait to return . When they reopened we have been dining there since and again. With the Covid/19 "History" changing, we are living now, the: Rules of Life have taken a 180 and our lifestyle adjusts to the: New Norm... With the Skew of things since March, we Genuinely are very Happy that This "Double T" has demonstrated and Strived to Survive very Faithfully with Positivety following the rules of protocol. Two strikes and I'm done. I brought my 4 year old granddaughter here last month for her first time. They were out of two things on the kids menu so we weren't off to a good start. I decided to go back and try again tonight. When our food came, my husband did not get what he ordered. The waitress did offer to remake it, but then said she'd deduct it from the bill. Had breakfast there today, and at the end of the meal placed an order togo. Wherein on the bill they hide and charged an additional $15m surcharge for the carryout, had the server disclosed that this was a new policy and that there would be an additional surcharge for that service I would have declined the order. Hiding undisclosed fee's for something that should not have been charged in the first place is a disgusting trick and poor business practice. I'm a diner fan transplanted from the diner capital of central Jersey where we have a diner literally on every corner. I really enjoy these Double -T diners. But not all are created equal quality or service wise. We really like this one especially since it was moved and renovated. Our severs are always superb. Funny, attentive and deliver quality service making sure our orders were accurate, drinks are always full and food delivered quickly and most importantly hot. I always do the Philly cheese steak and well done onion rings. Filling and delicious. I also like their burgers, especially the Hangover burger. They also have shrimp bisque with is great when they have it. Breakfasts are also very good, especially the grits. They do serve a Supreme Burger. Stacked with onion rings, bacon, cheddar cheese, and blue cheese dressing. Most excellent. They do allow split checks here which makes departing easy. Most visits the food is good but not today. I ordered the " special" -Prime Rib. I had it here some years ago and just like in fancy reataurants it was pink, moist, and the fat was soft. Melt in your mouth. But who charcoal grills prime rib and cooks it until it looks and tastes like a tough pork chop?! Well this chef did and the manager agreed! First, I have been going here for years and it is starting to go downhill. John, who is a waiter some days and host other days literally screams at patrons and waitresses. I am a loud person myself but, this disturbs me the past few times I have been in. The outside property has trash all around the building and hasn't been picked up for months. The omelette was great - huge and did not disappoint this meat lover. The omelette came with home fries and I don't eat potatoes but I gave them a try. They were pretty bland and tasteless, although they were cooked well. Daughter got pancakes which she said were delicious, plus bacon, home fries, and eggs. Was in the mood for a good brunch at home but didn't feel like cooking. Double T Dinner is less than 5 minutes from my friends house. We saw good reviews on yelp and door dash decided to order for pick up. We had 3 different orders, I only remember mine which was all similar. They said it would take 20 minutes to pick up. I had to stop by the store anyway for juices. When I got there there the atmosphere was welcoming but busy of course. They have their hosts on one and their check out/pick up on the other. I was happy to see they put all 3 orders in separate bags and even checked over the orders with me. I rushed back to the apartment so the warmth of the food wouldn't go away. They gave each of the orders its bag of condiments filled with butter, syrup, ketchup, salt and pepper and forks. My food was really good but I forgot all about the gravy to my fried chicken. I made sure to ask for my home fries to be hard, it tasted good with salt and hot sauce. The pancakes was just enough to fill me up. I should of added cheese to my eggs and fries but next time.
