Double D Towing damaged my car during a tow. Their driver admitted the damage occurred while my vehicle was in their care. I immediately filed a claim with them to cover the repair costs. Since filing the claim, they denied it without explanation and have completely stopped responding to me. I have called their office every single day for the past two weeks and have not been able to reach anyone who can help. I have documented evidence of the damage, their initial admission of fault, video evidence, and witnesses. Their refusal to take responsibility or even communicate with me has left me no choice but to pursue other avenues to resolve this. I would caution anyone using this company. Worst tow company ever. They were supposed to come at 5:42. They didn't arrive until 805. They already knew that my car needed to be at Acura before 10 o'clock. After getting my car on the bed. It took them over an hour and a half to get my car to Acura. They said something about having to do a police call. To my understanding you're not allowed to put another car on the bed when you're already towing one. I'm not 100% sure what happened to my car between between 830 and 1005 when they arrived at Acura. Thank God, I allowed my children to go somewhere else because if I didn't, I would've had my children standing out in waiting for them to drop my car at Pohanka. This is horrible service, especially when it only took the Uber 15 mins to get from my house. This towing company needs to go out of business. Their customer service sucks and in dispatch is rude to customers. I should not have been waiting for an hour for them to bring my car when it was only 15 minutes away from my pick up location. read more

I called at 9:29am and was told someone would be here within the hour. I waited and waited.., I called back 3x was told on 3 occasions that the driver was "soon" "an hour away". The driver didn't arrive until 3:15pm. If I had known it was going to take almost SIX hours for someone to arrive, I would have called another tow service. I was told y'all were short staffed--ok, but why not tell me that to begin with instead of continuing to say the driver will be arriving soon? Super fast and professional! Battery died after car sat in garage for 5 months and I was about to drive the car to the dealership to trade it in when I heard that awful clack clack clack clack instead of turning over. I panicked because I was buying a new vehicle and this trade in needed to be dropped off by a certain time to get the new vehicle before someone else bought it (2 other couples requested test drives that day) Double D via AAA Roadside Assistance responded immediately and arrived to save the day in record time! I was pretty far out of town so I was not expecting someone to show up less than 30 minutes later. The driver was very friendly and professional. I got assigned Double D Towing by my insurance Nationwide, in my request I specified that I would need a tow and a lift/ride, I specified what was wrong with my vehicle (shredded left rear tire) and that I did not have a spare and that I needed a tow to Firestone, when the tow arrived he acted brand new and like he had no info of the situation at all, he asked me what was wrong with my car, if I had a spare, where was I getting it towed to, he tried to change the gear of my car from park to neutral without turning my car on which cause a horrible clunking/grinding noise until he did it correctly, he also asked me if I had a ride... to which I replied no... which he then informed me that he couldn't offer cause it wasn't covered by his companies insurance... so he takes my car to Firestone and I hear nothing from them about it being successfully delivered- I call Firestone the next day (today) and find out that the tow didn't even let Firestone know when my car arrived AND that they left my driverside window down all night and that the inside of the car felt cold/damp this doesn't even take into account that I have belongings in the car that could've been stolen! AVOID DOUBLE D TOWING AT ALL COSTS, *** Ill be letting my insurance know that I NEVER want to work with this towing company ever again, *** I will add that over the last handful of years that I have had good interactions with Roadrunner Towing and would recommend them (Im in Sterling VA, no idea why Yelp is saying im in CA) read more

They left without providing any service, then filed with AAA that they had completed the service successfully. When AAA called them to check, they told AAA a different story than they had given me. My ex's girlfriend and her son came to pick up my daughter in the early evening. She has a small car and pulled it up next to my driveway behind my car, between the yellow lines, and was inside my doorway for a total of 5 MINUTES (probably less). When she came out, her car was GONE. Double D had towed her away (apparently at NASCAR race pit speed). My boyfriend called them and they brought the car back claiming it was in a fire lane. When we vocalized that we were not happy with what happened, he drove off with the car and made us go all the way to Sterling with kids in tow (pun unintended) to pick it up. That's not the worst part. All of her belongings were still in the car, with the car running. They would not let me pay for it because the car was in her name (said it was the law which may be true and about the only thing that may be legit with this company). They walked her to the car to get her purse to pay and the keys were locked inside. They told her she had to pay $80 for them to unlock it WHEN THEY WERE THE ONES THAT LOCKED HER KEYS IN THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE! Luckily she had AAA and they footed the bill for the entry into the car. Then she had to pay another $175 for them to release it. When she got in her car, all of the lights were flashing for the car to be serviced as it had been towed while it was running. My boyfriend had the police come by and they said they wouldn't have towed the car if they had to assess the situation. The HOA manager claimed that if a car in "violation" is spotted, Double D is to do at least two or more loops around the neighborhood before towing. There is zero chance this happened (and if it did I would be deeply concerned that they were dangerously speeding through a community at a time of day that is very active outdoors, filled with children and families). read more

Last week (Wednesday morning) I was involved in an accident and your crew was sent by the police to tow my car. From the first contact with the two crew members (one took the other car), I sensed more than the usual kindness to a middle aged woman who was fighting tears over the wreck. One young bearded man advised me on how he thought I could best save towing costs while the other gentleman handed me the information I needed to contact my ride. When I arrived at Double D and was waiting to sign off on my belongings my phone battery began to die and the gentleman behind the door offered his charger and let me sit in the office while waiting to figure out where to have my car towed. He also spoke with my husband on the phone, trying to make a way for us not to be charged for the accident towing (which we were reimbursed for.) As I entered the office I felt the first sense of peace since the collision. As I was talking on the phone, trying to figure out where to have the car repaired since I was visiting from Atlanta, another bearded young man quietly encouraged me to go with a reputable place nearby, one that I would never have known about since I am from out of state. This was excellent advice and to no benefit to Double D. The young man who advised me on saving towing costs was the fellow who towed me to Caliber Collision and as we rode he made the suggestion that I might want to trailer our wrecked car back to Atlanta rather than have it repaired in Virginia since he could tell it would not be a quick fix. This ended up being what the Collision center agreed was the best bet after I told them what my tow driver had suggested. As I thanked this tow driver for his extreme kindness to me, he said, "Of course. There is no other way to be." This is not true. It was his choice and the choice of Double D to treat their customers/clients with respect and kindness. Once again, thank you. What you do and the way you do it makes a difference in the lives of those you serve. When shaken from an accident to be met with this kind of caring is most appreciated. read more

Driver of tow company called me and said he was on the way. At first he lectured me about the size of his truck and one hour later I saw the tow truck driving down the road and 10 minutes later received a text asking for feedback because my service was complete. I called the driver and he said that dispatch told him not to drive down road to help me. The company did not have the professionalism to call me to tell me that they could not help me. I was alone and stranded for over two and half hours all by myself. Waited for three and a half hours for a pre-scheduled tow... My husband got a flat tire and so he just needed a simple tow. When he called Geico they set him up for a tow on 1/19 at 9:00 am, btw this was set up the evening before so we were hopeful that since we were scheduling ahead of time things might go smoother. 9:00 am comes and goes and at 9:30 we decide to call and see what the status was, not upset just want to know when we can expect them. The lady that we spoke to was very friendly and apologized and said the tow truck was actually on a job headed to Leesburg but then would be headed back to us. We waited until 10:30 and when we still hadn't heard anything we called again. Again woman we spoke to was very friendly and said tow truck would be headed to us shortly. At 11:00 we called again and she said that he was on the way and that we should get a call from him in just a couple minutes... at 11:30 we called Geico to lodge a complaint and to see if they could speak to them on our behalf to get things sped up. Double D rep repeated that the tow truck was on its way and that we should get a call in just a couple minutes. At 12:00 we gave up and told Geico to set us up with another towing company because we had already waited three hours and weren't willing to wait anymore. The tow truck finally called at 12:30... three and a half hours after the pre scheduled tow. If your company can't keep appointments and they aren't actually coming then don't say they are... if your insurance company tries to set you up with this tow company take my advice and just skip the wait and ask for someone else. read more

Great service. i was stuck in the middle of annandale in a part of town i wasn't too familiar with while driving for door dash & my car started to fully stall out on 495. i made it to gallows somewhere in the middle of no where and after getting denied three times through Gieco,( i was told my drop off location was too far away from the other companies.) i was transferred to a gentlemen named Shawn(Sean, Shaun) and he let me know it wasn't a problem to pick me up. 30 minutes later (while i was told by gieco is was going to take over an hour) a gentleman named Chris came to the rescue. Friendliness along with great conversation, it was a pleasant ride back to town where i lived in loudoun county. he let me know that he could drop off my car where ever i needed to be and also offered a ride home to my house. i really appreciate their professionalism and how easy of an experience Chris made it out to be.
