I had run out of gas and was feeling pretty helpless, especially late at night. They brought me gas, made sure I was safe, and even stayed a few extra minutes to ensure Snowflake started up without any issues. Towing service itself was what should be expected. Far from honest pricing. The value is just not there with all of the competition.

My truck broke down in a parking garage, and Road Runner Wrecker was the only bright spot in a very difficult day. My car's roadside assistance program had paired mewith 3 different towing companies before Road Wrecker; all made me wait almost an hour each before cancelling because they didn't have the right equipment. When Road Runner Wrecker finally arrived, they hadn't brought the right truck, but they sympathized with my experience (I had been waiting 4 hours for other companies to arrive by this point!) so they went above and beyond by swapping for the correct truck. The driver, Sterling, was a consummate professional. First, he took the initiative to see if he could get my car to restart on its own (he is a trained mechanic). When that didn't work and it came time to tow my truck, he was patient and extremely conscientious in a very tight area with limited space to navigate. He adjusted (and adjusted again) until he was certain he could clear each space with no damage. Throughout this endeavor, Sterling was kind, friendly, and patient. He put in long hours retrieving the right truck, evaluating my car, hooking my car up to the tow, getting the car out, and getting it to my dealership (it was very late at night when he was able to arrive there). All in all, I had a wonderful experience with Sterling and this company. read more

Waited for 1 hr 30 min and they said the service person will be in 10 mins but when I tried to call them again, now they are said there we unable to reach me and they waited at my location. I don't see any vehicle on my monitoring cameras. Not a good customer service. read more

Predatory towing. And no, not all impound towing is predatory-- I claim this company to be predatory after their driver promised me he would be in the neighborhood all night pulling cars causing hell. They refuse to offer drop fees when requested as required by contract. They fail to secure vehicles before entering busy roads--- I understand not strapping a car until driving off property, but when pulling out into a 40mph road, car needs to be strapped. A couple months back Management after reviewing gps trackers tried to excuse driver for driving 50% OVER the speed limit (that's what was admitted to, doubtful driver was even driving that slow) ... dude almost hit me, my dog , and baby in stroller. Predatory and greedy. Overheard one of the drivers saying that if someone "pisses them off", they will strip the car out of spite. Spend their time crawling around neighborhoods looking for people to tame advantage of. Got reimbursed anyways because they were in the wrong (shocker!) but they made it hell. read more

I called them last night for a coolant leak. Got to me like 2 hrs later at this time all the peterbilt dealers are going to be closing soon. He found a Peterbilt in manassas that would put out the part we needed since they will be closed when he got there. He left the road side about 515pm and didn't return until close to 9pm. He decided to do another call before returning to ne and getting my truck running. I sat on the shoulder for 8 hrs last night. After all thus they still charged almost 1600 for a coolant leak which is beyond excessive and even my shop at home that does wrecker service,roadside, and shop repairs even said it was too high. I called them based on a recommendation from a friend! Letty answered my call and oh she was so very professional lady! She promised that the flatbed towing truck will be there after 55 min and gave me an exact clear price . The driver arrived at the promised time and called me. He was also very professional! I think you can use your roadside assistance and them to use them , this time I called them directly but I got promised that next time I can call my "Allstate motor club" and ask them to use Roadrunners!! Don't waste your time! Yesterday I waited 6 hours for a the same service but with other companies and today I've waited 3 hours but when I called Roadrunners I got the help at the promised time which was 50 minutes! BEWARE if you ever have to make a claim for damage during a tow. The owner may deny responsibility for covering your damage repair and pass the responsibility for compensation onto the tow truck driver. Initially, my experience started off positively. The driver arrived, was friendly and courteous, and appeared to know what he was doing; although it became apparent he had little experience towing motorized recreational vehicles. He had to crawl under the Mercedes Benz Sprinter-based RV to disconnect the drive shaft so the automatic transmission would not be damaged while underway, and he had to chain-tow the RV to move it away from the curb before attaching the front wheel lift mechanism. Everything seemed to go smoothly until we reached my RV service center and he caused an accidental collision between the left rear corner of my RV and a parked trailer RV. The driver immediately photographed the damage and contacted his company, then told me they would take care of everything. Apparently his trust in his own company was misplaced, because, not only did Road Runner try to dismiss my claim, they told my RV service manager that the driver would have to pay out of his own pocket. And then, they reportedly fired the driver. By now, exactly one month later, I have been through a painful and unpleasant ordeal trying to get compensated for having my RV repaired. Initially the tow company's representative met with my RV service manager, apparently first offering to pay until he realized how expensive damage was, then backing off. Then I contacted my insurance company, and, because I had collision coverage, they would deal with Road Runner. I have heard nothing from Road Runner since then. Fortunately, my insurance company, after a few fumbles, covered the repairs in full (over $2800) and will go after the tow company's insurer through subrogation. In my opinion, THIS IS A BAD, UNPROFESSIONAL & DISHONEST BUSINESSMAN. If you choose to use this company, I hope you have a better experience. Based on the other reviews posted, my experience may be an outlier, but are you willing to risk your car, truck or RV to proving that it's not? read more

We got stuck in a pasture at Great Country Farms on a Saturday and called Road Runner. They were pleasant and professional. Their driver, Shawn, arrived when the dispatcher said he would. He was professional and friendly and worked quickly to drag us out of the mud so we could get on our way. Shawn went above and beyond our expectations. read more

Don't use them!!! Police called the towing company . I was hesitated to use them but we were in a time crunch. They charged us 537.00 to tow it from Chantilly to Gainesville. Only 15 miles according to my map. Rip off!!!! read more

Daniel saved us from being stuck in the mountains for days. I am incredibly grateful to this driver for his grit, courage, and perseverance to tow us up a steep, icy, long driveway. At one point even his truck was stuck, and we were afraid we were both going to be freezing in the cold for days. But he just kept trying and trying until he finally towed our car out to the road and even towed us a little further to make sure that we were safe. This company's policy is to make things as difficult as possible for you in order to extract the maximum amount of money. Rude and inflexible. They refused to tow the car to the mechanic or allow relative to pick up car without physical presence of owner in order to charge almost $800 in storage fees for the week (went out of town just after car was towed). Car pickup taking almost an hour (still waiting as I type). Unprofessional, sleazy and rude. Everything must be done in-person so if you are out of town they can rack up the storage and lot fees. Avoid having your car towed here--find a more trustworthy shop. read more

I had a flat tire and was surprised to discover that my car had no spare!! (I learned that, for fuel efficiency, manufacturers often aren't including spares anymore... what the ****?!). I called Road Runner and my tow driver, Carlos, was awesome! He showed up with a great attitude--he's personable, worked diligently, quickly, and had a smile on his face. Who writes reviews for a tow company right? I cannot thank Roadrunner enough as they helped my wife and I tow our classic Mini Cooper that ruptured a fuel line on the way back home. It was the first time we have driven the car more than 5 miles since we had it shipped from Texas. We called our insurance Haggerty and they set us up with Roadrunner. They originally dispatched a different driver but once Curtis heard that it was a classic mini and we requested a flatbed, he took over. Curtis was nothing but personable and professional. He took pictures of the car and you could tell that he was genuinely a car guy. He took great care of the car and we talked about food and cars on the way back home. We asked Curtis for his personal number, in case we ever needed it again (hopefully not). Thank you Curtis for the great service and making a not so great experience a good one. read more

First and foremost - Thank you Chuck!!! PSA: if you ever get a flat tire (if possible) pull over to the nearest side street as 99% of road side service company will not change a flat on a major highway. I was turned away by 2 local road side service companies due to having a flat on Route 7. I called Road Runner, dispatch took my info (provided exact quote) and Chuck arrived in 20 minutes. I was in a sticky situation (vehicle parked on a hilly median on Route 7, no extra shoulder road, 4 persons in vehicle). Another tow truck had to assist since the vehicle jack was at it's limit and my vehicle was not on a flat surface. Thank goodness Loudoun Sheriff was dispatched and directed traffic to one lane. After my spare was changed, we drove to a side road, Chuck tightened lug nuts and made sure all of my questions were answered before we went our ways. It was humid, hot and dangerous. Thank goodness for Road Runner and employees like Chuck. I'll never forget his kindness and persistence to help me in a tough situation. read more

It's never good to be stuck - even safely on a side road. Called our usual car repair shop, who contacted RoadRunner. We understood they were busy with "police" activity - however before 1 hour had passed, a tow truck arrived. The young man was pleasant and professional, courteous and efficient. Before starting the towing process my husband suggested trying a "jump" - and voilá! We were "live." RoadRunner stayed with us for several minutes - and their "on-the-spot" ability to charge our credit card had us on our way to the car repair shop before they closed for the evening. Beep-Beep!
