Took my car to Auto Solutions get an inspection done and owner Jeremy failed my car and said that I needed almost $1000 worth of repairs done on my car before he would pass it. Being skeptical I drove straight to the dealer here in Leesburg and he said that I only needed brake pads replaced and that was all. I knew the pads needed to be replaced because they were replaced about 60,000 miles ago. He said that the other three items Auto Solutions said I needed repaired were fine. They replaced my brake pads with GM original equipment manufactured brake pads as Auto Solutions uses cheaper aftermarket pads. They redid the inspection at no charge and passed it. The service advisor said the aftermarket pads often cause squealing and are not manufactured to the same standards as the original equipment manufactured pads. Then I thought about our other vehicle I had taken to them back in January that they worked on. What had happened was that the back-up parking aid beeper to detect objects when you are backing up malfunctioned. The digital speedometer where is also list other information just read out "check park aid" and it would not go away. I had taken the SUV to Auto Solutions and left it there and Jeremy called me later and said that that the little speaker that beeps needed to be replaced and the cost was $48.65 for the speaker plus $198 for labor to replace it. He ordered it and the speaker arrived and he replaced it. I remember how he told me that he couldn't believe they charged him so much for this little 3" speaker....he was telling me he had to pay a lot for it and was his reasoning for charging me almost $50 for it. On a hunch I called the local Ford dealer and found that they only charge $35 for the little speaker...so Jeremy charged me $13.65 more than the dealer charged which amounts to a 40% mark-up over the dealer price. Now I am wondering what else he had overcharged me for on other repairs they had done on our cars over the past couple of years. Will never go to Auto Solutions again as they lost a customer for trying to rip me off. Attached is copy of the list of the repairs he said I needed to have done in order to pass inspection along with the inspection form showing "Rejected" that Jeremy gave me since I would not agree to do the $966 repairs. read more

WOMEN DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!! The employee I interacted with, I think his name was Jackson, trash-talked the make and model of my car, and it is elitist to think some people have a choice in that matter. He talked down to me, tried to mansplain everything, was judgmental about where I moved from and how far a commute I have for work (things that have no bearing on him servicing my car), and got annoyed at me for asking questions. I am pretty sure he tried to rip me off too. I was told I had a minimum of $2500 worth of repairs to pass inspections. He said I should just buy a new car, which again is elitist and judgmental, especially considering how much more a new used car would be. He acted like it was not a big deal to drive down the road and buy a newer used car for $8,000 (which will not get me a much better car than the one I have). He tried to convince me I needed rotors when the pads were the only thing that came back as worn about the brake system on the inspection report. They told me I had an oil leak and told me that it was because my plug was bad, causing seepage. They said this because there was discoloration around that area of the car. Nothing is dripping, and my oil level has not decreased at all since my last oil change. They also tried to fail me for not having an oil change because, according to the sticker, it was past due despite my sister doing and was within reasonable miles. but because there was not computer record, they couldn't verify that (perhaps sexist towards the idea that a woman could change oil?). They tried to fail me for the head on my gear shift being loose, calling it broken. Loose is not broken, plus a loose head handle does not mean the integrity of the gear shift itself is bad either. They also messed it up more than it was before I took it in. read more

Great downtown mechanic in Leesburg. Brought my F250 in for some rattling at low RPM. They diagnosed it, pulled up the service bulletin for the Variable Cam Timing Solenoids and repaired it the next next day. Parts weren't as expensive as I feared and only a few hours labor removing both valve covers and replacing the solenoids and gaskets etc. A few days later I locked my keys in my truck up the street and they loaned me the wedge and hook to unlock it. The first time they worked with the tire company to ensure the warranty partially covered the cost of tires that had worn out too soon, as well as handled some small repairs. The customer service provided throughout exceeded expectations. The second time two years later was for a potential issue with the rear brakes. I had gone to a large chain shop for an oil change and emissions/inspection. I was told I needed over $700 worth of parts and work. It's the first of the month... and I know I am not the only one who forgot to get my car inspected last month. So, off I go expecting to sit in the line at the service station all day. The first place I went said they don't have an inspector currently, and they suggested Auto Solutions. I recall picking up a friend there when she dropped her car for service a few months ago - I remember her commenting that it's the only place they take their cars. So, off I went. I arrived about 1130, she told me the inspector was booked until lunch and asked if I could come back at 1230. I left and headed to run an errand. But that was done in 15 minutes. So I headed back to the station and told them I would just wait so I could be first in line after lunch. I headed back to my car, and began making work phone calls. Within a minute or two the inspector came out. He said there was no reason for me to wait, he could get my car done in a couple of minutes and he would go to lunch after that. By 1155, my car had been inspected, I'd had a pleasant chat with the cashiers about their model car collection and family pictures lining the shelves, I paid, and was on my way. What a pleasant experience. What a hidden gem. I think I will have to give these guys a try next time our vehicle needs service. read more

AWESOME place to get your car fixed! I was told by VA Tire that my brake pads were close and needed to be changed soon..I asked the cost to get them done there and checked at my car dealer...both places were astronomical...so I bought the parts from Toyota and I called Auto Solutions...not only was their fee VERY reasonable, Jeremey informed me that my back ones weren't awful (like VA Tire made them sound...when someone says "if you hear grinding noises, then it's time to get it done"...good GRIEF!) and I could have kept going for a while on them but because I was already there, I decided to just go ahead and get them done. He put the break pads on, rotated my tires at no charge and I was out of there in about an hour. Took my car here for an inspection and it was failed it for a steering rack problem. Jeremy, the owner, was nearly apologetic for failing it, which seemed odd, until I took it to my longtime mechanic who said there was nothing wrong and it didn't need the $800 on work auto solutions wanted. But they had me over a barrel -- if I didn't do the unnecessary work, my car wouldn't pass. So I was forced to have the steering rack replaced. These folks are crooks. Hopefully, the state police -- who I should have reported this to -- will be informed of their shady tactics and they'll lose their license to inspect vehicles. I had the pleasure of using Auto Solutions AGAIN!! My husband and I have been Auto Solution customers for many years. The owner's Kelly and Jeremy are friendly and knowledgeable. The members of their team are fabulous. While waiting for my Safety Inspection and oil change I could not help but notice that the phone kept ringing with customers and they had about 6 walk-ins and made about 10 appointments for service in the following days. I think that speaks volumes on their service. A loyal customer came in with a family emergency that was going to take him out of state and needed service ASAP. The waiting room was full of people, the lot was full of cars, they addressed this customers issues and NO one waiting before him suffered. We were all serviced in the time that was quoted to us. I came here to get my tires replaced and my oil changed. When I arrived I was greeted by a friendly staff member who signed me in after I told him what my car needed. I left my car there and came back a couple hours later when they were finished with my car. They did a splendid job and the manager even replaced my windshield wipers as a bonus. That certainly made my day as they had bent earlier that week when I was driving in the rain.
