I've been almost every store in the 4 corners of this area & never noticed there was a Thai place. On a whim I picked up a order to go. ~ Off the bat there was a communication barrier. I felt like spring rolls & asked what was the most popular. The cashier shrugged & said she did not know. Then I asked what she preferred. Again, I got a shrug. She said, "2 per order...pork...shrimp." I was a few sentences later of "who's on 1st" that I realized she was telling me I could get 1 pork & 1 shrimp. The sesame sauce that comes with it is amazing!!! The spring rolls were so-so. The pork looked like beef & tasted like neither meat. The shrimp one had 1 shrimp in the entire roll. Maybe no one orders them...that's why she couldn't suggest a popular one! ~ Grilled chicken w egg roll on rice is good but lacking in chicken. Thought we found a new pho place but we ordered some other items on the menu. Portions were very small and food just did not seem fresh at all. I ordered the Pad Key Mow with shrimp. It seemed frozen to microwave type food. If you've ever had the frozen chow Meiji from Costco, this is similar, but Costco chow mein is better. The Pad Key came with 6 shrimp including the tails which I did not enjoy. We got two ordered of beef pad Thai and the noodles were very dry and stuck together. The beef was not seasoned and looked like the cheapest stuff on the market. We also ordered the combination fried rice. It was honestly all just terrible but we ate it because we were hungry. While we didn't get to try the pho, we will not bother coming back based on the food we got this time around, just doesn't seem authentic at all. read more

The GF and I decided on a simple dinner after a work out and after doing some quick and necessary shopping (had to get dog food). We got the Tom Yum with chicken and the spring rolls with tofu. I wasn't real impressed by the spring rolls (maybe I just like meat), but the Tom Yum was good. After chasing the soup around the chimney, I found it just right (though it did get me questioning). Pardon my following little rant, but I am not clear what the deal is with the chimney for the soup. I know it makes a good place for the flame to go, but it makes it so difficult to serve. You have to chase the good stuff around the canal and the spoon never seems to fit. Argh.. OK.... Am back. I enjoyed and will probably return. Price was reasonable and the food was good. I don't understand the poor ratings. For the value you get for your money, this place is killer! Granted, it's just a few doors down from a pet store, it's got pretty amazing food with unbeatable prices! Customer service is also very friendly (family owned and run). Hmmm what could I say.. My friend recommended me the special pho here and it is 100% true to her feedback. You get a special bowl w tendon, brisket, beef, broccoli, green and red pepper, cilantro, mushrooms, and very tasty broth for less than $8. Yes!! Affordable price for good order plus very nice and welcome servers (also the owner of the restaurant). This place is really good! I live right down the street and come here at least once a month. It's a small, family owned restaurant. It is authentic Thai food. I have tried the Secretary Holiday (not sure how they come up with the names, as they don't relate to the food), shrimp fried egg rolls, spring rolls, the pho, and the pad Thai chicken. I love all of these dishes. The meat always tastes fresh and the rice is real rice, not boxed rice that many restaurants have. One time, last winter, we got the pho to go and it was neatly packaged to be fresh when we got home. I am big on my food being hot and it still was by the time we got home! The restaurant is clean, a little outdated in furnishings, but clean nonetheless. There is one restroom in the back. This place is awesome cheap and very yummy too. I have been going to this place since 3-4 years ago. They have recently changed management and they have 10% off your check everyday! The cook/owner and probably wife are always so nice! My favorite is the Tom Kha Kai (S7 - lemongrass coconut chicken soup), chicken hot plate, pho tai and bicycle driver. I also love all the other ones but usually get these. The place is clean including the bathroom. They don't speak good english but do the pointy thing on the menu and that is usually enough.
