I've been wanting to visit here and I finally found the time over the weekend. I stopped by on a Saturday and I really enjoyed my experience. I was alone so I sat at the sushi bar. I saw there was a lunch special so initially I wanted to order that however I saw a Lobster Roll and a Carb Roll so I decided to try those instead since they aren't included in the lunch special. The lobster roll was fresh and didn't have that fishy taste. The crab roll was pretty big but it was tasty! I really enjoyed both. My meal came with a bowl miso soup which was very good also. We arrived on a Friday night around 7pm with a group of four. We were seated immediately in a booth. The guys got large bottles of Sapporo for $7 each, and I got some hot tea. They have a sheet of paper you mark your order down on. One sheet per check. So make sure if you are splitting the check unevenly then you get more than one sheet of paper to mark your orders down on. My bf and I ordered the an order of takoyaki, salmon skin roll, Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) roll, and Fantastic roll. My friends ordered the grilled eel and a chef special. Before the main dishes arrived we got an assortment of kimchi, pickled radishes, (what tasted like) wasabi bean sprouts, and several other little dishes. They were all really good. My favorite was the wasabi bean sprouts. It was very unique to me. The takoyaki here is a great deal! You get four pieces for $5, and they are delicious. The grilled eel my friend ordered was absolutely delicious. I am not a fan of eel sushi, so I did not think I would like his dish. I tried it anyway, and I am glad I did!! It was fantastic. The DWTS was also delicious and I felt it was a roll that had a great price to deliciousness ratio. The fantastic roll is only five pieces, but it was also very good. The salmon skin roll was okay. It had a very smoky flavor and there wasn't anything wrong with it, but I probably won't order it again. It just didn't spark the same kind of excitement all the other dishes did. I'm sure they have a lot of other rolls I'd be be more willing and excited to try. So the chef special my friend ordered was very interesting. The best way I could describe it is almost like a sashimi bibimbap-type dish. We were told that you mix the rice into the veggies and sashimi followed by the spicy sauce. The bowl was large and it was a lot of food. My friend mixed in TWO bowls of rice, and ate it all. THE ABSOLUTE HIGHLIGHT of the night was when the very friendly and talented sushi chef came by our table and graced us with the most delicious piece of tuna cheek. It had a sauce drizzled over it. I kid you not it literally melted in my mouth. It was so good I had to consciously try to savor it as it was melting down into my tummy the instant I closed my mouth. It was gone and left me wanting more. It was very nice of the chefs and it felt almost like we were getting a little piece of an Omakase experience. If they did an Omakase here I would definitely attend! At the end of the meal they provide a nice drink similar to a (nonalcoholic) digestif. It's sweet and very cinnamony. I think the table was somewhat split with how much they enjoyed it. But I really liked it. It was a cold sweet drink and a nice way to end the meal. We received great service throughout our meal. This will definitely be our go-to for sushi from now on. It was just so amazing and unexpectedly fun thanks to the sushi chefs. The only con is that the shopping plaza Doshi Sushi is located in is already really busy and relatively small. With this addition to the plaza the parking will definitely become more difficult as I can see Doshi becoming very popular. read more

It's definitely pricier for the amount of food that you get, but I personally think the quality of the sushi is worth the price. The side dishes that come with the combos are tasty and plentiful. We went to Doshi Sushi the past Saturday at around 2:30pm, and I ordered teriyaki salmon. It's the second time I ordered this dish, because the first time I tried it (about 3 months ago) it was delicious. However, this time this same dish was not good at all. First, the amount of vegetables at the bottom of the salmon was much less than last time, and quite a few pieces of vegetables were burnt! Second, the salmon was simply bad. There were a lot of bites of the salmon where I had to chew so hard to swallow, it seemed like the salmon was dried out during the cooking somehow? I had to leave a chunk of the salmon on the plate, because it was so dry it was inedible. I don't know why this time the salmon teriyaki tasted so horribly. Maybe it wasn't peak lunch hour. Maybe because the reviews on this restaurant have been so good that the cooking got careless? But I know I probably won't order it in the future. I came here for lunch with my coworkers and we were all very satisfied with our meals. Although it was Friday lunch time and the place was very spacious, it was packed with customers. They greeted us as soon as we came in but had to wait for about 5 to 10 minutes to be seated. Good customer service overall and clean environment as well! We love the sashimi set here. It won't be the traditional Japanese style. But it is still a good variety of fish. It's comes with many amazing side dishes such as yellow tail with ponzu, Zaru soba, tempura shrimp, grill flounder, baked corn... and many more, which fills up the whole table and they are very generous with the amount of the sashimi on the spread! The service is not too great. They are busy on a Friday night so their attentive level is not high. We rang the bell at least five times to finally have someone come. If you order something, make sure you understand and know what it is because manager will not allow you to give it back and reorder. I ordered a Yummy Yummy and in parentheses it said 10 pieces. I asked waitress if it's sushi, she said yes, turns out it's a roll. So be sure to ask before you order and make same mistake as me. The sushi is ok but I prefer Haru Ichiban down the street better.
