Even though this small restaurant has been open for several years now, we recently had our first meal here. What a nice surprise. We started with an order of samosas. There are 2 per order. These were delicious and large not too spicy. It comes with dipping sauces. Unfortunately, the tamarind dipping sauce was dull, not bright and tangy as I like. The creamy mint sauce I thought was the better of the two. The Lamb Curry was quite flavorful and a generous portion size. The meat was tender, the blend of spices in the gravy was complex and rich tasting. It is comforting to know that the spicy heat level can be moderated from mild to very spicy. This is served with rice and a small salad. My palak paneer, a soupy spinach dish with lots of big chunks of Indian cheese, was prepared exactly to my preference, on the mild side, and really quite wonderful. It was served a la carte. I had to bring most of it home. We also gave one of their cheese dosas a try. I've had one elsewhere where the crepe was very thin and came out almost crispy on the edges. I was hoping for this preparation, but was disappointed. Nonetheless, it was still good, and quite large. I am thinking this would be a good option for children who do not have our adult palates. The service was great. There is a little wait before the food comes out since their food is cooked to order. Overall, a great experience that I look forward to repeating. At the time I didn't know what any of the deliciousness I was eating was called or what I was supposed to dip in what; after trying all the combinations, I decided not to care because each pairing was so exquisite. The idly and vada were the perfect savory bases for the chutneys and sambar. The dosa was fun to eat and heavenly to taste. But my favorite was the yellow potato curry - it was richly savory yet light and melted in the mouth. This meal blew me away because it introduced me to new and unique flavors that I didn't know I'd love. It also made me feel great. Came here on a Saturday night for dinner with a friend. Excellent, fast, and friendly service. Great selection of food. I'm not the most familiar with Indian food, but it all seemed very authentic! For example, most of the non veg dishes are 23.99...add to that a plate of rice, a credit card charge of 3.5%, add to that a tip..and this one non veg dish will cost you 32.00. WHAT..that is more expensive than a five star restaurant in Beverly Hills. A large bottle of beer is 11.99 ( more that what you pay at Dodgers Stadium) AND THEIR QUALITY OF FOOD HAS GONE DOWN...undercooked and no flavor. They charge you 3.5% for using a credit card..being a business man I know that are not paying 3.5..more like 2% since all the cards are swiped. Who are they kidding? Their name really caught my attention and made me want to go here. Pretty good south indian food. Their dosas are dosalicious ! The tiffin platter had a huge dosa (you get a choice of the dosa), a soft fluffy idli that just melted in the mouth, and a crispy crunchy wada with sambhar and two chutneys. Coconut chutney was very good. Idli was the best, hands down. We ended up placing a separate idli order and were delighted to get 3 idlis in 1 order. Dahi puri was also very good. For sea food lovers I do recommend the tawa fried fish, was perfect spicy and tasty. Dosalicious is quite popular and can get very busy. After a couple of recommendation, we decided to try out this place out. My favorites were Mumbai style dosa, Podi Idli very favorful and spicy, definitely can taste the podi masala. If you really want something spicy try the chili bhaji, fair warning it's super spicy. The Rava Onion Chilli Dosa was really good as well, crispy , spicy but not too bad, I did have to tell them to go easy on the onions. My least favorite is the sambar, very bland and the chutney is watery. Paneer Burji Dosa was very soggy, the stuffing was very good but the dosa itself was soggy. Uttapam was okay, wasn't a fan of it. Service was good, they are short staffed, but the owner was very apologetic which was nice being acknowledged. Overall its a good place. Food is excellent here no doubt. The only reason for my lower rating is their unannounced 18% service charge for a group of 6 or more. After finishing our dinner I handed my credit card to the waiter and he returned with his tablet displaying the total (not the details of the charges), and the option for tips. The highest tip option was 7% which seemed low to me, so i went for the customary 15% tip. Once I reached home and examined the receipt I noticed that the 18% service charge was already added to the amount which I never got to see during the entire transaction. So just be careful and check your receipt before tipping. I ended up with a $45 tip on a $144 bill. I did approach the store owner a few days later to express my concerns but he did not seem to be too concerned. read more

Been here twice since moving to Riverside County. The first time, we got the chicken korolla, chicken tikka, and onion tomato uttappam. The chicken tikka was VERY delicious!!! However, I was not completely sold on the uttappam. The next time we went, I got dosa and it was delicious !! Being from Pittsburgh, I ALWAYS leaned on going to Udipi for my cravings. No other Southern Indian restaurant will ever meet to par. Never will. HOWEVER, it is nice to come across places like this that give you a little reminder that you're never too far away from home I look forward to coming back here again and trying more dosas !!!! read more

The server came and asked if everything was ok. I told her this was not what I ordered. The quality is not good. I received a response that if you will come on a week day I will make a good uttapam but due to rush this is what we can serve. If that was the issue at least tell people you can not prepare the food ordered as it will not meet the quality. Everytime you go to the restaurant their standards change,their policies change and the payment methods or minimum payment changes. They literally scold you if you are not aware of anything being changed. But how can you be aware of something that can change anytime according to the convenience of the staff or cook or server. The staff really need to change and develop a better attitude. The food quality is getting deteriorated and rudeness somehow is increasing. Here's a tip for eating here the food could be good but don't come here during peak hours you will wait more then 45 minutes to get even one dish , they post a sign about this on their wall and it's true. What happened to this place? This WAS hands down my fav place to go eat Dosa. Service WAS great and food was delicious. We go there at least once every 2 to 3 months. I wanna say about a year and a half ago, they changed ownership? When we asked, they told us.. "no no. The people that regularly work here are on vacation" well they never came back from that vacation. And the food has progressively gotten worse. This place is so dang good. My coworker and I were looking for a new lunch spot and had a hankering for Indian food. We decided to try Dosalicious and we were pleasantly surprised when we were not familiar with many things on the menu. Dosalicious specializes in southern Indian cuisine, specifically dosa, which I had never had before. These lentil and rice based "crepes" are amazing and flavored with all the Indian spices you've come to love. The menu is expansive and there are familiar staples. Everyone that works there is so friendly, making sure you are enjoying your meal. The food is made incredibly fresh and can take some time, so if you are in a time crunch, I recommend calling ahead. I absolutely love the food at this place and have been going since they opened. I will tell you that in the last year, the quantity of food has gone down, masala dosa has very little masala, mango Lassi is 5.99 and not even good. When we asked for masala, they charged extra. We had two kids in our party of 7 and they charged 18% gratituity to eat in paper plates. Podi Idli quantity has gone down as well. I think that they need to stop ripping people off. read more

Dosalicious serves primarily South Indian food and is probably the only restaurant that serves kerala (a state in south India) cuisine within 30 miles of Orange County. I noticed there's hardly any reviews on their non vegetarian menu, which is not surprising as the restaurant started with a vegetarian menu. This review is solely based on their non vegetarian options. First though, I have to compliment the take away packing since it kept the food piping hot for the 30 mile trip going home. Last night was our second time trying Dosalicious and it was really nice experiencing the flavors that distinguish kerala cuisine from other Indian cuisines (north and south) - read - coconut milk and curry leaves). This stood out most in their Shrimp masala curry. I would say the shrimp masala is probably the best Item I have tried on their menu. I have tried a few chicken curry dishes here, and while it's been good, it's not screamed Kerala to me. Pair any of their curries with their kerala porotta which they make fresh. A lot of Indian Restaurants that claim to sell kerala porotta only use the frozen kind they sell at Indian groceries. I look forward to trying more non veg kerala items on their menu. I have my eye on their kerala fish curry, and appam. I'm just really grateful to have Mallu food close by. This is a luxury when you live so far away from the homeland. This place was conveniently located and easy to find close to where my rotation was. Was my first time there and stopped for a quick lunch. The staff was super friendly and I was seated right away. I got the non vegetarian thali. Pros: the food was great, felt home cooked, great flavors not overly spicy, good portion size for lunch, came with rice, curry, sambar, and naan, everything was delicious, and great for lunch. If you're not used to a traditional Indian lunch you will have to take some home, and it also came with desert. Service was fast, decently priced for the amount of food. Great South Indian spot and it has an Indian grocery store next to it which is great as well. Cons: I don't have anything to suggest in terms of improvement as my experience was great. This was my first experience at this restaurant, I ordered to-go instead of ordering online because the online prices seemed to be a little higher then at the restaurant. It took about 30 minutes to receive my food from ordering, which for authentic indian food I can understand. My first disappointment was that they do not have Naan. Never been to an indian restaurant that does not serve Naan. They offerred me something "similar" but it was nothing like a Naan, it was an oily crumby mess. The chicken tikka masala was alright, the chicken was hard to find among the curry and once found it was tiny little dried pieces of chicken. Did not seem fresh considering the amount of time needing to prepare my food. When I got in there was one female waiting which she was waiting for about half an hour as well. The rice was basic. Overall, based on the amount I paid, approximately 17 bucks, I should have gotten higher quality food. The male putting the orders together was also not wearing his face mask during one order which made me hesitant about my order. Also no gloves were used.
