The food here was pretty good. The presentation was beautiful and our server was nice and took time to explain menu items and her recommendations were helpful. After our meals were served we really didn't have much service after that (which I didn't love). There was a group of 4-5 at the table next to us and an empty restaurant outside of them and us. We flagged down the server twice for drink refills then later flagged them down for to-go boxes. I've been here for over 10 years. That's so crazy to say. But it HITS everrrrryyytime and I make whoever I bring here obsessed with it too. I order a Double beef koobideh combo but I end up getting 1 beef and 1 chicken with 1/2 rice 1/2 House salad. Amazing. So good. I mostly get it go and occasionally dine in when I'm with people. The place is located right off the freeway off Main Street. Location is kinda tricky for parking bc the entrance is in the front but there is only parking in the back. The place kind of looks run down, and definitely needs upgrades in certain areas, the counters were peeling, some decor was dusty and old, then it kind of smelled like old wet rag. I will say our server was super sweet and the food came out fast not like 55 min as long as I read from some people. We ordered the filet main dish and the juicy chicken main dish and the house salad with chicken. The filet was just ok, needed more seasoning. We did ask for like a garlic sauce and they brought it out and it did help with the dish. The chicken was good I will say and juicy. The portions threw me off tho, definitely way more rice than meat and then just lacked a balance. I'm use to like maybe a small salad or small side of hummus with this $21 dollar meal, but all it was was the rice and some meat and literally one cooked tomato. The portion is ok, but for the price it is just not worth it. I feel bad bc it does look like the restaurant is struggling business wise but I have to give an honest review. The food is ok nothing crazy spectacular but not like disgusting, but for sure not worth the price. For 3 dishes (2 rice main dish and 1 salad with chicken) our total was $66 and with tip it was $76. read more

Did you know that they have a drive-through well they do I was able to pull up order and wait a little bit and went on my way I tried the Greek salad with tomatoes. Can't figure out how this restaurant gets 1 star ratings. I've checked out every Persian/Lebanese/Mediterranean restaurant I could find in Orange County, Riverside County and the eastern half of L.A. County, and Kabob Hutt is by far the best flavored Persian food I have found. We especially love their chicken barg served with the adas polo rice and 1/2 house salad and buckets of their house dressing.. my favorite meal anywhere ! Lamb Shish Kabob plate claims to give 8 oz. of lamb and got about 4oz if that. I know because I weigh my protein intake on a daily basis. Food was okay, the salad that I paid 3 extra dollars for was good however the $5 maust moosier was not that good and the position was small for the price. I asked for a spicy sauce and was charged $2 for, I was not advised of the price ahead of time. Waiter finally asked me for I wanted a refill after I was done eating. The salad is crisp and the dressing is amazing, the rice is so good, and yes... they give you whole raw onions. Sounds simple, but trust me they're amazing. I try to make it here before 11:45, because once lunch hits, it gets packed fast. The staff is super nice, and even though the food can take a while, it's 100% worth the wait because everything comes out fresh. You can taste the quality. My filet mignon kebab came well‑done instead of medium rare, the chicken was so overcooked it was almost impossible to cut, and the portions were noticeably smaller than usual. The food isn't the same as it used to be. They no longer serve fresh lavash bread and instead offer pita with a rubbery texture. The hummus tasted off--almost sweet, similar to blueberries--and I had to send it back. The server mentioned I wasn't the first customer to complain about it. The house salad is still good, and the chicken tender bowl was enjoyable. While I understand the price increase, the decline in food quality was disappointing. We come to Kabob Hut when in/around Corona (from San Diego); it's been about 10 years. Mostly we dine in; sometimes take out. A good Persian restaurant always makes the more traditional dishes like Gorme Sabsi (green stew) and Ghemei (split pea stew, sometimes with eggplant). Kabob House stews are a 10, as are kabobs. Cozy atmosphere, good/pleasant service. Also highly recommended by our Persian friends, too. read more

I am a creature of habit--they know my order by heart: always "no tomatoes" and always with lemon wedges on the side. Today, I was blindsided when the person on the phone told me they were now charging 50 cents extra for those lemon wedges. When I explained that I've been a consistent weekly customer for years and have never been charged, I was told that maybe they were just "too busy" to charge me before. ​It isn't about the 50 cents; it's about the principle of hospitality. To nickel-and-dime a loyal customer who has supported this local business for over 100 weeks is insulting. This isn't a massive fast-food chain, but they are certainly starting to act like one. It was not the same kabob hutt I remember going to a few years ago. I am not sure whether the management has changed or whether the staff is too new but the service we received was at par. They didn't have lemonade, they said it was coming soon. They didn't have fries either for kids. The food was above average. It was not as good as I remember it to be. The pieces of meat were a bit bigger. There was no live music on the weekend. The dining furniture is the same as I remember it which also meant that it was showing its age especially comfort wise. The front staff should not snicker as unhappy customers are LEAVING. It makes people regret driving 20 minutes out of our way to supporting this local business!!! Our family have regularly dined-in and catered family events with Kabob Hutt over the years, but have rarely had opportunity to order take-out. Needless to say, we won't again. Employee said sumac and flat bread are extra charge when I asked for more (not enough provided for 2 large orders of borani and double orders of chicken and beef koobideh dinners.) It was not an excessive customer request and was never charged extra at previous visits. When in doubt, ask your supervisor. Management need to re-train regarding professional customer service plus give staff the autonomy to satisfy customers.
