Had a chance to try the new spot that just opened in Corona and it did not disappoint. So good, as always. This has easily become one of my favorite go-to lunch places. I always get the Santorini bowl with chicken because it has a little bit of everything and I love how balanced it is. My daughter and I love coming here, it's kind of our little bonding spot, so we were excited to finally have one closer to us. Noah took my order and was such a delight, super friendly and made the whole experience even better. Also... little win, I had the app and got $10 off, so my bowl came out to about $4. Lunch for $4? We've been coming to Luna Grill locations for quite a few years, so we know what to expect. This one is very new and wow it is busy. Great choice of locations right off the freeway, and in an area that doesn't have many Mediterranean choices. The interior is light and bright, but small. The tables outside serve two of the restaurants next to one another, but it works when you are in California with great weather. We ordered on the app, and ate inside. Wifey ordered a Mediterranean bowl, because she wanted lettuce based. I got the chicken platter and wanted a rice base. Both tasted a selected and did the job. I know this is a new location but pretty disappointed in the two attempts I've been here. First time, it took forever for me to order because despite being a short line, the back of the counter seemed like a high school hallway and they were just chatting and not really working? There was only one person manning the cash register so it was a bit irking to wait in line when I can see employees not help this person and just chatting. They also didn't have hummus which is like the minimum I'd want from a Mediterranean spot. The second time I came, me and my husband did Build Your Own Bowls via online order and pick up and they completely got it all wrong. Each bowl was half of my husbands order and half of mine. They obviously did not care about getting the order correct. The chicken was also inedibly dry, so it was extra disappointing. I stopped by this location with my boyfriend after the gym since it was right next door and convenient. There wasn't a long wait to order, but unfortunately the service and food quality were really disappointing. My boyfriend ordered a pita wrap with fries, and I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken. His food came out after about 15 minutes, which already felt a bit long but what was more frustrating was that my salad still hadn't arrived. I checked in with the staff, and they told me it was coming. By the time my boyfriend had completely finished his meal, I still hadn't received mine. It seemed like they forgot about my order and then rushed to put it together at the last minute. When it finally arrived, it felt thrown together with little care. To make matters worse, my boyfriend said his pita wrap and fries were cold when he got them. Overall, the service was slow and the food quality didn't meet expectations. I love Luna Grill and for Diabetics like me, Mediterranean food is always encouraged by my Dr. I realize after visiting the new Luna Grill in Corona, during their busiest time, I should expect a longer wait. So my visit a month later, was very pleasant and I was able to meet with the General Manager Connie. She was very attentive and extremely pleasant. Awesome Luna Grill had their GRAND OPENING today. If you download their app, the first 50 people receive a free bowl. Along with my free Santorini bowl, I also ordered the Gyro Meat plate $16.79. The cashier Maria S. was kind and patient as I didn't know what to order. Also Luna Grill Managers Connie & Devon were kind and made sure what I had ordered was all in my bag. Once I got home I tried some of the food and it was delicious with the exception of the couscous. I'm just not a fan of the couscous, but family liked it. We got a chance to hit up the pre-opening at the new Luna Grill in Bedford Marketplace! They don't officially open their doors to the public until this coming Tuesday, so definitely mark your calendars and check them out. Overall, the food was really fresh and hit the spot. I had the shrimp platter--the shrimp were excellent, and that creamy cilantro sauce is a must-try. It came with rice, pita, and hummus with fresh lemon, which made for a great, light meal. We also shared the classic falafel pita wrap and those loaded "Luna Fries" (the "Luna Way" fries on the menu--definitely worth it!). My seven-year-old had the Gyro kids meal with rice and pita, which was a perfect portion for him. To be totally honest, I wasn't a huge fan of the gyro meat myself. To me, it felt cut a little too thin and the flavor just wasn't quite there, but that could just be a personal preference thing since everything else was wonderful. Since it was their very first night, there were a few little order errors and hiccups, but honestly, those are just growing pains that'll get worked out. The staff was incredible--Lidia helped us out and she was so sweet. The whole crew gets 10/10 stars for their kindness and making us feel welcome. A few things to know before you go: Kids Eat Free: They have a deal Monday through Thursday (with an adult entrée), which is awesome for families. Loyalty Perks: Make sure to sign up for their "Club Luna" program to get points and discounts on your meals. Hours: They're open daily from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM. The decor is fabulous! Great fresh selection of food. It does have a fast food feel to it but the food is definitely next-level. I would have loved some sumac for my rice and koobideh (pronounced KOO-BEE-DEH). Today was the second time they have messed up my to go order. The expo girl forgot my two orders of baklava. I had to come after work on a Friday. I was stuck in 30 minute traffic just to get these desserts. They should've been there in the first place. It is such an inconvenience to order takeout from here. I am so glad that this location of Luna Grill opened in Corona! I go to the Anaheim location weekly, so having one closer to home is such a treat. I always order the build-your-own bowl through the app because you can customize everything, and the food is always fresh, healthy, and amazing every single time.
