The food tastes great , the atmosphere is inviting and comfortable with inside options for fall/winter and the hot summers or they have a patio you can dine and enjoy the fresh air as well. The employees are always welcoming, attentive, and friendly every time I go. With all these qualities it makes it an easy decision on what's for dinner when that's the question on the "table". I do think if they add some sort of rewards program ( I eat here often) and offer free chips for everyone that orders dine in no matter what they order. I've been here a dozen times, but finally am giving this place my review....I know far overdue! lol I'd just finished a 6 mile run/ruck march up at Folsom lake, and usually when I'm done it's lunch time. And I always head here (can't beat good food right). Whenever I come here, my go to meal is usually the spicy salmon burrito, but I decided that this time I'd try something new. So I decided to get the TRES TACO BASKET (*the website is out of date at there now have shrimp!) and I got pulled pork, Mahi Mahi, and shrimp as my 3 choices. The tacos were medium sized and came in double layer soft corn tortillas. Each one was prepared a little differently. The Mahi Mahi came with a white sauce, lettuce, purple cabbage, cheese and salsa. The other two came with the standard lettuce and cheese. While the 3 tacos were pared with the basic corn tortillas chips. If you're like me, you can finish eat taco in about 4-5 large bites! The pulled pork taco definitely was my favorite, it had a drastically different taste compared to the shrimp and Mahi Mahi tacos. It was probably the smokiness in the pork. I come to this particular Dos as its close to home, about 1x every 10 days. I have to say the food taste is good but they have yet to get my order right. Like tonight I usually order the mahi mahi burrito, no rice, no cheese, nothing spicy add pinto beans. Just once I 'd like to have it right. I send it back still wrong. So I'll easily give this joint 5 stars. I can't believe I have never been here before. I actually can't believe I'm not there now, lol. What amazing food this place has. The beer selections goes very well with the food. They have specials of the day. The place is very very clean and the food comes out pretty quick but very hot. The joint has plenty of seating and can handle large families or just a couple with no problem. The portions are not huge but definitely not small either. But the flavor will blow your mind. Being from San Diego I love Mexican food. (Little known fact; in Mexico they just call it food). There are only a handful of Mexican joints I'll go to and this one made the list just as walked into the front door. I remember the grand opening way over twenty years ago , and since then, this place has been a consistently good location to go to, my friends at Intel love to come here and eat, for me it's just okay, I like that have a selection of salsas , but I don't like any of them , the chips to me are always over cooked and the tortillas are flimsy, if you order a big burrito say like a Fajita Burrito you will need a fork to eat it with as it will Durb all over the place.if the tortillas were just a little bigger and thicker that would help a LOT ! Also the inside looks exactly the same as it has for years, if you like rustic charm and potted plants , the inside is going to make you feel warm and fuzzy, overall it's an okay experience. read more

The food is mostly really good. In my opinion, their salads are better than most of their other food options. They are usually very fast at getting food out to their customers, even when it's very busy. My biggest gripe is their consistency of inaccurate orders. I go here 2-3 times a month for several years and I am still blown away on how often my order is incorrect. This review is for the Folsom Dos Coyotes. Great location, lots of parking, lots of seating inside and outside. My review is mixed. Our food was tasty and made fast, and hot. I had the steak tacos and the hubs had the nachos. Portions are excellent. Some things were off this visit, which prevents me from giving a higher review score. First of all it was dirty in there. We went at around 3pm and it was practically empty. Plenty of time to clean up the restaurant and the salsa bar after lunch. Salsa everywhere in the ice and kind of picked over. They've changed the pico de gallo to being way less tomatoes and way more onions and jalapenos, which I don't like. The chips are made fresh there and the batch we had was full of chewy chips. No bueno. I used to love their blended margaritas and so I ordered a margarita. The gal went and got a bottle of premade margaritas (like from BevMo) and poured it in a glass in front of me. Hmmm. Not sure about that. She just said 'the machine is broken.' So I'm giving it a three - not bad, not great. And, I'm sure we'll be back there sometime. read more

We each ordered and sat down to eat and to our surprise the food was fresh and very tasty. First time at this chain. Ate asparagus and chicken quesadilla after a long walk nearby along the river. The food was good, if not thin on internal ingredients. The salad was spring mix (not much) and tomatoes. All fresh and tasted good. The decor is comfortable and lots of seating. Nice place for something different than fast food. I appreciated the space between tables; did not feel crowded against other diners. The chair I had probably needs to be checked to be secure as it was a little wobbly. Home for the holidays and I had to come to dos coyotes for a fix. Its been almost 4 or 5 years since Ive had a dos coyotes burrito.. and its not as good as i remembered :( i got my usual "border burrito".. for ~$7 The burrito was much heavier than I remembered with avocado and sour cream. My fav part of the burrito was still the same, the smokey taste of the grilled chicken and the black beans. however, for the price, might as well get chipotle! The portion size is very similar to chipotle. You can definately share 1 burrito amongst 2 people. I must say thier salsa bar is still amazing and it sets them apart from chipotle. read more

I love their salsa bar! If it wasn't for their generous salsa bar this place would only be three stars for me. Their tacos are pretty good and they have some decent salads as well . Altough their salads are nothing close to being healthy . You need to ask for dressing on the side otherwise it's drenched in dressing and they put all sorts of heavy fat items like cheese sour cream and avocado . I use to really be in love with their steak and chicken burritos but lately I've been finding that the burritos get supper soggy from all the salsa inside . On the recommendation of a colleague I tried this Mexican place. First I was expecting a sit down place with waiter service. But here you have to order at the counter. Ok! Some of the best Mexican I've had was at places like this. So I ordered the burrito bowl. I usually cut mine open and eat out the contents, so I thought this was a great concept. Before the food was delivered I found the salsa bar. It looked very impressive. I got a small bit of each one to sample them all. What a disappointment. Out of 7 or more (don't recall the exact number), there was not a single one that I really liked. Compare that to the 2 I had at Hacienda in old Folsom. Those were both very tasty. When the food came, it was extremely bland. No flavor despite adding a diversity of salsas. I'm ashamed to admit it but I think Taco Bell has more flavor. read more

The steak in my burrito was very tender and had great flavor from both the marinade and the grilling. The filling of the burrito was mostly meat and cheese with a small amount of salsa and guac. It was perfect for me. Rice & beans are available in their Border Burrito. The g/f got two mahi mahi tacos. These also surprised us with their tastiness. Juicy grilled fish, crunchy cabbage, salsa, and secret white sauce. I've been to their Davis location on the way home from Tahoe and think this one is a little better. read more

As a chain restaurant, I have to say the flavor is jam packed in the food! You get a huge portion with your order and the salsa bar is full and fresh with a great selection of salsa's to choose from. A solid lunch spot. I work pretty much around the corner, so I have hit this place for lunch several times. I have always been pleased with the food and the service. They have one of those "new fangled" soda machines which is pretty cool. The menu has a lot of options. The the most authentic type of food but it is very good. The location is clean and you can see they actively work at keeping it clean. The outside area is very nice. The parking is a bit tricky when busy. Luckily I can walk it. Adobe salad was huge while my husband's Yolo burrito was large too. I just loved the salad. The staff is friendly, very positive vibes from the place. Interior design is amazing. I'm not sure what's going on here. Used to love the place and the quality of food was exceptional. But it appears the pandemic knocked this restaurant's quality down a few pegs. I ordered the chicken adobe salad and when digging in I found it to be extremely dry like it's been sitting out for days. The produce tasted stale and the leafy greens all had discolored ends on them. I'm tossing the entire thing out as I'm not taking any risks of potential food poisoning. If this was an isolated incident it would be different but this is the 3rd time this has happened in the last few weeks. I'd recommend to be extra cautious about ordering from them at this time. Or at least order for pick up so that you have the opportunity to check the food quality right then and there and ask for either a refund or to make it right on the spot. read more

For the money and convenience Do Coyotes is hard to beat. The first relevant thing about most restaurants is the location. This Dos Coyotes is right near the freeway entrance, which makes it fairly convenient. There seems to be plenty of parking in the area though maybe not 10 feet from the entrance. We went in on a Saturday afternoon, around 4PM. Surprisingly the restaurant had lots of people in it. Fortunately the line did not take too long. I ordered fish tacos which didn't take too long to arrive. For the money it's hard to beat the meal. The closest I can compare Do Coyotes is Chipotle, in that it is a fast casual Mexican inspired restaurant. While I like Chipotle a little better the food here is still very good. The chips were great and there were lots of options for salsa. The menu seemed to have some reasonably healthy options. The restaurant is decorated in a colorful fun manner. The bathrooms were clean. The staff was friendly. I can see why this place had so many people on a random Saturday at 4:00 in the evening. read more
