    Pumpkin croissant

There are many things to like and some things that can be improved with Doro Marketplace. Let's start with the good things! I've been there twice and both times I've ordered their Mediterranean bowl. The first time I tried it, it was on Sunday for lunch. Place wasn't too crowded and my bowl came out quick. Chicken was warm and tender. The second time I visited, it was on a Friday during a late lunch. The place seemed less crowded than the first time I went yet it took a very long time for my bowl to come out. A chicken on the second time around was cold and chewy. Everything else in the bowl was amazing. The hummus, especially was really good. I feel like the bowl needs some kind of dressing though. I thought it did the first time around and the second time around it tasted very dry. But that could've been due to the dry chicken. I also split a pastry with a friend on the second go around. We tried their pumpkin filled croissant. It was very buttery. I probably would not buy it again. It was way too rich. And it needed a more fluffier filling - less butter, more whipped cream. My kids tried the cake like brownie last time as well and did not like it. But they ordered pizza and seem to enjoy that. So all in all, I would say that the meals are good, but the desserts need a little work. I did not try any of their drinks. The restaurant itself is fun. It has a very European marketplace feel to it. You can purchase goods as you wait in line to order from the counter. The counter has all their foods on full display - kind of like a deli counter. This is pretty much how people buy food in Italian marketplaces. The staff is nice as well and friendly. Once you order and pay for your food, you find a table and they will bring the food to you. It is worth a visit!

Doro in Wethersfield is the best! Spacious meeting area. They have a couple vegan options but mostly regular pastries sandwiches and coffee for people of all diets. This is the perfect spot to have a business meeting or a catch up with friends! I would recommend it!

Such a cute spot! Love the music and vibes of the place. It was pretty busy once we arrived but they handled it very well with their easy to use tablets. It was very clean and well taken care of. We dined in and the server who was bringing out the food was such a delight, super kind and great warm energy! I got the chicken parm sandwich on a croissant, yes please!!! This was delicious, not too much sauce to where it's falling out, fresh mozzarella with a beautiful cheese pull, and freshly grated parm on top.

I recently tried Doro for the first time and was impressed. I had the croissants, they were buttery, flaky, and tasted freshly baked. I'd definitely go back when I'm in the mood for some pastries.

5 Stars I had the chicken parmesan croissant sandwich and it was absolutely incredible! The portion was just right, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. The croissant was flaky on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside, and perfectly toasted--honestly, one of the best croissant sandwiches I've had. I also grabbed a bag of black truffle potato chips (in a white bag), and wow--they were amazing. The earthy truffle flavor paired perfectly with the sandwich. A combo I didn't know I needed! My friend had the eggs up breakfast, which came with eggs topped with queso sauce, potatoes, and toast. She said it was really good--simple but flavorful. The atmosphere is chill, the service was friendly, and everything felt thoughtfully prepared. Can't wait to go back!

I'm really liking this café. This location was extremely popular the day we went. It was packed. I've been to other locations in the past and it's definitely a well liked CT staple. I like their coffee drinks and pastries. Haven't disappointed so far. I will return and recommend to others.

I have been to the other location in West Hartford a couple times and it's been excellent. Today I was traveling out of state and wanted to grab some food first and this location was on my route. I ordered the avocado toast and a few slices of pizza. I added egg which could have come in any style but they said the default is sunny side up. I love a runny yolk so I said it was fine as is. However, when I got my food, the egg was basically raw. The white was still viscous and the egg had slid off the toast. When I showed the employee, they seemed unconcerned and asked if I wanted it medium or hard (as if this was the acceptable level for sunny side up). I eat eggs almost every day and this is not the correct way to prepare them. An apology would have been nice. I had it remade with scrambled eggs. It ended up taking so much longer than I had expected which was annoying since I had wanted to be on the road earlier. The flavors of the toast were good and the pizza was great. It's just hard to overlook a raw egg.

Doro Marketplace on the Silas Deane is a gem! I love the WeHa location but this one is bigger and has better parking. As always, there are smiling faces behind the counter and bringing you your long awaited, well-deserved treat. Dining in here is a enjoyable. I swear, food is better because of the ambiance (still, 10/10). The wifi is strong, but the lattes are even stronger! For me, the lattes are the highlight--hot, rich, and perfectly balanced with buttery and crispy croissant. What a beautiful pair. I sat in the cafe this time for a real cup. The heart in the foam of the latte made mine skip a beat.

This was such a cute vibrant atmosphere! The wait was kind of long, but it was a busy day! We had the baklava cold brew and it was delicious with cold foam on top! It had pistachio and honey notes. We also tried the apple croissant and it was so flaky and buttery and had sweet apple pie filling. We also had the new Britain ave which was an egg Sandwich with brioche, chili aioli, sausage and cheese, it was delicious! I would definitely return and try more things.

Caesar salad with salmon. That's not dressing! The leaves are coated with grease/oil

Ordered 2 salads with salmon. The croutons were fried in rancid oil and the the undressed salad was oily and some of the lettuce pieces were cooked! The salad was ordered with dressing on the side. I don't know if the oil slick is from the salmon or the deep fried croutons. Unfortunately, I learned that the recipe for Caesar salad dressing is different from at the different Doro markets. The dressing at West Hartford is garlicky with a hint of anchovy. The Caesar dressing in Wethersfield is sour like mayonnaise and tastes like Worcestershire sauce. Not to my taste. I ended up throwing out almost $20 in salad and keeping the salmon. The only reason I don't totally regret going to the Wethersfield store is that I found a great well stocked Japanese market, Tomo's, in the same mall. Thank goodness I picked up some sushi on a whim and it ended up being my dinner.

Avocado toast and chicken Caesar salad

Cute place. Lots to choose from. Decided on the avocado toast and added on an egg. Toast was very good. Flavor profile could use some help. Maybe some shredded basil would be nice and some drizzled olive oil. The radishes were different. Not the best avocado toast I've had but not bad. Pretty filling too. I'd like to come back and try the zaatar hummus toast and something off the rotisserie chicken menu. Cute things to buy by the registers. The oat milk honey latte I got was really good too. My friend got the chicken ceasar salad. That to me didn't look very good but she said it was good.

deviled egg toast and dragonfruit spritz
    Jamie N.

Had a one of a kind experience at Doro! This was my first time going and I seriously understand the hype of this amazing bakery! Not only are their endless options of bakery items, they also fantastic drinks and breakfast items! I went with the deviled egg toast which something I typically would not go for, but it was out of this world, especially with it being in their homemade sourdough! I also got their dragon fruit spritz which was so refreshing! Their Strawberry Vol au Vent and Pistachio Croissant were absolutely divine! This place is a little on the pricer side, but absolutely worth every penny!!! Service was fantastic as well and the vibes were lovely. Looking forward to coming back and trying some new items!

They have plenty of sweet and savory treats to go along with your coffee cup - cannoli's, macarons, baklava, cake pops, savories, tortas, croissants, bombolinis, muffins, breakfast sandwiches, scones, etc. I stopped in to do some prep for a morning Board of Directors meeting and ordered a large drip coffee and a cheese and spinach pastry with a criss-cross latticework top. Breakfast was around $10. The coffee was excellent, and far too much for me to drink at one sitting. It was served in a huge ceramic mug, so I asked them to pour it into a "to go" cup when I left. The pastry was delicious, a great balance of spinach, cheese, flaky pastry, and crunchy top. I loved it. I grabbed a small table in the back and went through my notes while sipping my coffee and people watching. I got a kick out of the young lady to my left who was simultaneously working on her laptop and two phones while having her breakfast. She sure beat me in the multi-tasking department. Service was excellent, the friendly gent and lady who helped me were wonderful and super friendly. I sure enjoyed this private non-chain coffee stop.

Drum Roll is predominantly a coffee roaster, but they sell some merch as well. They may serve beverages on site, but that doesn't seem to be a focus of the website or store and I was in and out when I visited. I did not see any seating. I bought two things at the small, thin store in OW, and I also recently had cold brew made with Drum Roll coffee at Bake Market in Rocky Hill. The following things stood out. First, the person who helped me, who I assume was the owner, was conversant in coffee terms that matter to me. Sometimes I talk to a store employee about single origins or roast levels, and they don't know what to say. The person who helped me knows coffee and they had a good selection. Second, my Ethiopian Single Origin Beans I used for a home pour over, turned iced coffee, were obviously fresh roasted. You could taste the roast. A coffee can actually be too fresh roasted, and based upon experience, I think some of the listed tasting notes will be more prominent in a few more days. I usually wait 7 to 10 days after the roast date before using coffee. For this reason, putting the roast date on the bag might be a good move. Third, the coffee bag is a high end bag. I buy a lot of craft coffee over the internet. Some places try to have useful bags, and some places try to save money on bags. Drum Roll has a ziplock style seal that makes keeping coffee fresh easier. Their bag is on par with other top places. Fourth, Drum Roll serves canned cold coffee. I'm not sure if they rotate their offerings. I bought one snap chilled Papua New Guinea Cold Brew can. It was very smooth and above average for a canned coffee product. Fifth, I don't remember the exact price, but I remember thinking the price was reasonable. I would definitely buy more bags if I happened to be in OW when I needed coffee beans and Drum Roll is open. Sixth, Bake Market's cold brew made with Drum Roll coffee was rich and smooth. It had a darker flavor and roast profile than I normally I drink, but it was well executed for that style. Based upon all of this, I recommend Drum Roll for people who make coffee at home. While I have my own grinder at home and buy whole beans, they even asked if I wanted the beans ground. 4.5 Stars
