Breakfast sandwiches were excellent the Cuban sandwich not so much really dried out and missing a bunch of ingredients I am accustomed to a Cuban having.

Quesitos

Everything was reasonably priced. There was enough parking spots for everyone. There are even some spots to sit inside. Quesitos was good. Pan saboa was a soft form of bread, but it was not rich. Tembleque was ok.

Stale tembleque ($1.25)

Pros: Spacious parking lot, prices ($) Cons: Poor customer service, quality of food, location Definitely not the best customer service. The baked goods were stale & immediately thown in the trash. The only good about Panaderia Pan del Cielo is its spacious parking lot. All in all, a forgettable experience. I recommend the other Puerto Rican bakery in Hartford.

Super casual place with great food. I don't think I've ever been to a Puerto Rican bakery before so this was a first. I had a hard time deciding on a sandwich since they all sounded so good. I almost got their specialty, the Cuban, but decided to go with the Tripleta instead which has pork, turkey, and pastrami on it. This sandwich was so awesome, the meats were really flavorful and all the fixings, including the ketchup which I've never really had on a traditional sandwich really worked. What stood out the most to me was the bread they use. It was flat with a nice crisp on the outside which really made it. I also got a few pastries; the quesito and some guava pastry, both which were really good. Service was fast and friendly and you definitely get your money's worth. Glad I discovered this gem, I'll definitely be stopping in for lunch more often!

What I ordered and how much I paid.

I might be adding a little more to the last reviews of this place, but I came to try the sandwiches and pastries that were raved about. I bought the Cubano, Tripleta (Pork, Turkey and Pastrami), and the pastries - quesito and tornillo. The place looked new and clean. All the stuff were organized and neat. Even the chalk board that displayed the menu of foods looked clean with no smears. I had the Cubano. It was tasty. The meat was pretty juicy. I ordered togo the Tripleta Sandwich which was pork, turkey and pastrami. That along with a soda, quesito and tornillo (both pastries) for $18.42 out the door. I love when I get to use to my Spanish. Having grown up with a Dominican father and a Cuban step mother, though I was never taught directly the ways of the Latino culture, I still embraced it. I am pretty proficient in Spanish speaking so I'm glad I can order things in another language. Okay, okay, I apologize for digressing. I guess it was the food from here that brought in nostalgia and......serotonin. lol. Once again, you know it's a good place when Latin people come in here to eat. The guy behind the counter was Half Dominican, like me (interesting to me, maybe not to you)! His name was Hamlet. This was signature sandwich written with great prose. :) My two favorites were the Cubano and the tornillo pastry. That hit the spot for lunch, and the place allowed me to brush up on my Spanish! If you come here, I wish you BUEN PROVECHO (enjoy your meal). Sincerely, Anthony "William" Shakespeare ;)

I can't believe I missed this place! Great bakery /"sandwhich" place lol I have not much to add that Bryon hasn't mentioned. This place has great potential to deliver great lunches. Nothing is over $6 which is nice. They have amazing pressed sandwiches. The glass window display was full even at 2PM. I like a shop that has plenty to select from. I can't wait to try all of the yummy things on display. I'll be drinking tons of questionable chemically prepared drinks this summer but all for Yelp! They added a seating area now. The shop is equipped with leather chairs and free WiFi. The only problem is the connection is extremely slow the last time I was there. I had some pastries and believe most of the pastries are filled with "paste" not the real fruits. Can't go wrong with cheap prices and fresh food.

One of my last stops in Hartford, I recall the visit quite clearly. It was my first time at the bakery and I relied on Yelpers' recos for the pan sobao, which I wanted to bring home for my in-laws back in Atlanta. They'd tried some from a bakery in Orlando and fell in love with its ever-so-slightly sweet flavor and pillowy softness. The pan sobao was still a bit warm, having come out of the oven not too long before I stepped foot inside. In additiion to the bread, I picked up a bunch of guava pastries for bf and his fam. I think I paid between $5-7, which was a steal in my book. Once back, we all dug into the pan sobao and felt it was well made and comparable to the one from Orlando. The pastries were fantastic, which a nice amount of guava filling and just flaky enough (I honestly dislike super flaky pastries, first because they leave a telltale sign of my guilty act all over my top and secondly because I feel parched after eating such dryness). Given a chance to go back, I will visit Panadería Pan de Cielo. Service was good and pretty fast, though I am not sure if the woman who helped me wanted to make me look like a douche. She spoke to me in Spanish, even though many would assume that I don't with my uber-SE Asian features. Anyway, chatter in the bakery immediately subsided when I responded to her with finesse and my Cuban-tinged Spanish. No lo esperaban, verdad?

Afterwards I stay downstairs and experienced the coffee shop. I ordered a gluten-free breakfast sandwich, which was really good. The bread was a bit firm, but I actually appreciated that since most gluten-free bread tends to fall apart. This one held up nicely. My honey latte was absolutely delicious, smooth, perfectly sweet, and beautifully made. There's also a cute outdoor seating area, great for relaxing with coffee on a nice day. Parking is on the street around the corner, since the street the shop is on is closed to cars and open to pedestrians only, which adds to the charm of the area. You order at the counter, get a number, and they bring your food right to your table. When you're finished, you clear your own dishes to the bin, which keeps the place tidy. I also noticed the staff going around regularly wiping tables and keeping everything clean and welcoming. Overall, Bloom Bake Shop has a great vibe, tasty food, and friendly service. Definitely worth checking out!

Is it a flower shop? Is it a coffee shop? Is it a bakery? Of course, it's all three. We popped in a little before their 1:00 Sunday closing today, and the only bakery items remaining were four lemon blueberry scones. We scooped up two of them at $3.75 each. Now a scone isn't always a scone. Some have the density and weight of a doorstop or a hockey puck. Not these, they were as good as any scone we've ever sampled. They were soft, fresh, and bursting with lemon and blueberry fruit and taste. They were exceptionally great. The interior was very pretty with flower displays, booths, tables, and plenty of goodies for sale like bags of granola, pastries, and sandwiches. The exterior dining patio was packed with customers finishing off their lunches or late breakfasts while sipping their coffees, espressos, cappuccinos, and lattes. Thank you, Bloom Bake Shop, for a very enjoyable visit.

While the pastries are classic and exactly what you'd expect from a high-caliber Italian bakery, the real gem is the Italian ice located in the cafe. Good lord, the flavors and quality are on a different level--this isn't that Rita's or DQ garbage. The chocolate and strawberry combination is specifically incredible, honestly better than Godiva chocolate-covered strawberries. It provides that deep, rich profile and authentic taste that defines their Itallian vibe. One professional tip for anyone stopping by: bring cash. When I first got here, the barista was not ready to take orders yet, so I sat down while they prepped for the day. After about 15 minutes they were ready, so I ordered a basic latte and sat back down. The coffee bar has no food and only coffee and matcha drinks, relying on other businesses to fill that gap when they don't offer food at the primary location. The hours on Saturday don't match up with the other local businesses, so it leads to the ability to get coffee but not food till at least an hours time from open. The latte was basic, coffee is of a decent quality and the milk was frothy. No real design work beyond a basic onion off-center. They had one special latte, a pb&j inspired iced latte. Opted against, since they were still prepping for those orders when I went to order. It's functional coffee for the area. Not bad but not special either. It's a place to get a cup of joe on Pratt street, and it's good coffee but nothing to call home about.
