I have dealt with Tom Torrento for over 20 years The best car salesman you could deal with . He gives me what I want Works with me. He always works up many lease options to find what. "I" want. I've been to other dealerships and had questions that they couldn't answer. The worst customer service I have ever received. We bought a truck and within one month found three things that needed to be fixed. The two employees I spoke with regarding these issues were rude and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend this dealership to anyone! read more

Great service department. They fixed my intermittent dome light problem that left two other dealers scratching their heads.

I had a bad experience at first with the purchase of my used vehicle.left the dealership and heard alot of noise in front end when I took it on freeway. Took it back and found out it was the tires.i was pretty upset at first I was being told it was my problem but carolyn Dorian called me and she made it right so thanks to her I am happy with the purchase now.my trust in Dorian just got better. read more

Dealt with Carolyn dorian and Matt who were great. Worked out a fair trade in on mustang and wound up leasing a fusion. They both were very friendly and we left feeling better than I did going in. Had to roll a few bucks into lease, but still a decent deal for loaded up 2017. Thanks read more

Purchased a new vehicle from Matt months ago and the back seat leather was damaged. Still waiting for them to repair!!!

The. Used car sales people over at Dorian Ford only seem to be in interested in selling you a vehicle. And once you have purchased a vehicle it is like you do not matter . Very poor customer service . will not be buying any more vehicles from them. read more

I bought my car from Dorian ford January of 2017 it's a 2014 explore the first issue was after a month or so it was not starting cutting off things like that long story short it was taking care of not completely satisfied but ok. Now here I am in October of 2017 and already I had to buy new tires when I shouldn't have had to but I did. Now I get my tires and they tell me my tie rods and ball joints are so rusted that I can't even get and alignment that's freaking crazy when I have had the car less then a year now I have a warranty but it's through my credit union which it doesn't cover rust which is bs I thought I made the right decision getting me car from here my family has a long here story of getting cars from Dorian ford but I have to say I will not ever purchase a car from here EVER AGAIN! It's a sad day when u can't trust a suppose to be certified used car dealership read more

Terrible customer service! Wont return calls! Once you sign its over and they dont care any longer! No more refferals from me!

I turned in a lease and the license plate was supposed to be registered to a new car that I lease from here. They registered my car to a license plate that was not on my car, I ended up getting a ticket for this because my car was technically not even registered they said they would fix it and handle everything and did not have to worry about it getting the right plate transferred so get the papers back from the Secretary of State and the car is still not registered under the right license plate. I paid a plate transfer fee and also now have to pay for a ticket. Unacceptable. read more

I purchased a Ford Escape from Dorian Ford, its a 2009 and when I purchased it for CASH over $11,000.00 I might add, it has been nothing but a piece of trash. I am about to take it in for the 4th transmission work, the drivers side door broke, the front end was so out of alignment that it destroyed a set of tires, and parts had to be replaced because it was popping under the front end. Now I am required to pay $100.00 deductable each time I visit. I have called and complained to no avail. They now tell me I have to wait a week til they get YET ANOTHER NEW PROGRAM TO TRY AND FIX THE TRANSMISSION. Really??????? I am so frustrated I want to stand in front of their driveway and wave prospective customers away!!!! read more

I would guess most comments on this website are with regard the sales part of this dealer ship. This review is regarding the collision center. My ford escape was in the shop following an accident. All the work that was done was one the outside of the car, however when my car was ready there was white paint (not the color of the car) was over the back seat, each driver side interior panel also had paint on, as did the roof. Which no one at Dorian noticed, equal annoying was it took 2 emails and three voice massages before I got to speak to someone to complain. The sales center might be good but the collision based on my experience is to be avoided. read more

30 days after purchasing a 2009 Escalade, I totally regret buying from this dealer. I was so excited to buy an Escalade decided to stop in since it's a couple miles away from home. Customer service wasn't so welcoming. I mentioned the truck needs to be checked out, my salesmen said they will check it out after I buy it. So I bought it! trusting a multi-million dollar dealer would actually fulfill their so called "120 point inspection". A week later I brought the truck back in only to get the usual "there's nothing wrong" runaround. I'm not an idiot I've bought many cars in my past. Any one with decent vision will clearly see multiple oil leaks, and feel a broken engine mounts! Seriously?! I just paid $25,000 for headache! read more

I had a really positive experience when I bought my F150 at Dorian Ford. I was notified by a friend that there was a door recall on it a year after I bought it. I took it Back to Dorian for the recall repair. They told me they would have truck a day or two. They gave me a loaner vehicle to drive. So 4 days later they call me and told me my truck Was ready. So I go to pick it up and as they were checking in the loaner they told me that there was a chhip in the windshield. They said I had to pay for it out of pocket or with an insurance claim. I am still in shock that all this happened because I didn't even remember a rock hitting the windshield. I can't prove that it wasn't previously there either. The manager said that it was going to be 620 dollars and I would have to pay it before they would let me take my truck. Instead of taking mye into a consultation area, the manager decided to put my business out there in front of other customers and staff. I decided to sleep on it and I asked if they would cut me a Dorian Deal on the price. The manager called me the next day and told me he would give me a discount of 544 dollars for windshield repair. I decided to go for it because my insurance deductible would have been about the same cost as just paying it outright. I also just wanted to get my truck back and get the hell out of there before they come up with something else to blame me for. All in all, if was a horrible experience and I felt like they treated me like a criminal for something I couldn't control. Unfortunately for Dorian, I won't be back and word of mouth will cost them more than the five hundred they made off of me. Just be very careful if you do decide to bring your car there for service!!! read more

Lied too again by Dorian Service Rep. Roxanne Detgen. She told me that I would get a "$50" VISA rebate card if I had all 4 brakes done on my Ford Edge. Lies. I finally got my VISA rebate card today, but it was only for$25. Lady at Ford said that it was 'only for $25 because Dorian only changed the rotors on two of the wheels'....Ms. Detgen failed to tell me that. This is a TERRIBLE dealership. I will continue to post my bad experiences on social media and elsewhere. Don't EVER purchased a vehicle from here.!!!!!!!!! read more

never thought to write a review about car dealership but decided why not. To be honest, I grew up with Ford and my 1st car was a Ford. My wife and I at the time weren't even married and needed a new car and on a lark we saw an ad for some sale on Saturday - way back in the summer of 1998. We had gone to several dealerships local and far away and the only people who would work with us was Dorian Ford. It's quite a drive from Novi to Clinton Twp, but when it comes time to spend a large chunk of money for something of quality, I am of the school of thought where loyalty to a brand or to a company is a time honored tradition. Our first salesperson, Pete Cipriano, helped us into a Ford Contour LX. It was a basic vehicle but reliable. Two years later we leased our next Ford also from Pete @ Dorian, a 2000 Taurus SE. Of course we came back again, when the lease was over for another car in 2003. This time Pete had left the company, but we were introduced to Shawn Perri, who hooked us up with a 2003 Taurus SES. Of course, again when the time came, back to Dorian we went and in 2006 we leased again, from Shawn, again, this time a 2006 Ford Fusion SEL. That was a slick car, almost didn't get it but we made it work. And so when the time came yet again - 2009 rolled around and we were turning in the Fusion and wanting a bigger vehicle, We were interested in a Ford Edge. Shawn, our trusty goto guy at Dorian, pointed us a different direction - towards the Flex. After 10 minutes of test driving it, we were in love. This time, with Shawn's help, we purchased our 2009 Ford Flex. There is a trend here - we tend to get new cars every 3 or 4 years. In 2013 we bought our next vehicle from Dorian - another Ford Flex. We thought that was going to be our last new vehicle for a while, but as the fates allowed, this year 2017, we went back to Dorian again. Unfortunately, our salesperson Shawn, got a promotion. But we discovered Mark Fortuna - who was just as awesome as Shawn was previously. We now are proud parents of a beautiful "Blue Jeans" Ford Flex SEL. In My Humble Opinion, For New Car Buy/Lease, I will never go anywhere else. Even if I move half way across the state, I will always come back to Dorian Ford. read more

Really Disappointed. My wife was looking to get into something bigger as we have a 1 year old and a few fur babies. We arrived and test drove two ford explorers while our ford fusion was being appraised for a trade in. Not only were the explorers beat up and running poorly but we were offered 1500 less for our trade then the buick gmc dealer down the street. Needless to say we took our business there. I feel sorry for anyone that has to go through the same experience my wife and I did. read more

One of the WORST experiences I've ever had attempting to even talk about buying a car. I live in Vegas, so the deal would have had to occur over the phone. But the used car salesman (Mike McDonald) was horrible. His focus was what he couldn't do, not what we could even negotiate or come to an agreement on. Then he tells me I should probably look for another car some place else because we're not paying for the shipping. Well, I never even asked him to pay for shipping, nor was it even discussed, so why would he even tell me that? They have a car that's been sitting on the lot for 5 months, tells me there's no room for negotation, tells me they aren't paying for shipping so I should find one closer to Vegas. All they could do was find ways to talk me out of buying it. I guess that explains why it's been sitting for 5 months. There's an old saying, "don't look a gift horse in the mouth." I would have come around to paying the asking price, after doing some research I knew what the cost should be for the car in question, but who in their right mind doesn't try to negotiate a better deal? If you want to be talked out of buying a car this is where you should go. read more

From purchace to service and parts I am extreamely dissatisfied! When I picked up my car it was not detailed and was dusty. The salesman who helped me was extreamely creepy, he asked me of my martital history which I found weird and invasive. Then everytime I went to get an oil change the service was awful. I would wait and wait and finally get out of my car and walk to a desk where I would pass several employees who ignored me completely. No hellos ever. The lady helping me was short tempered and rude. Besides that they would quote me prices for parts and then I would go to pay and it would be twice as much! I would ask them to bring the person I spoke to back to tell me why but they would hide and not come out! I ordered a part and was told it would take two weeks, after 3 weeks I called to find that my part was not even ordered in the system! They patched my call through to Roxanne who was in charge of my account and she was away from her desk and never returned my call! I have been trying and trying to give them another chance but everytime it just gets worse and worse. Never again Dorian Ford! I will take my dollars somewhere that cares! Roy O ' Brien treats me like you should have...Next time I'll buy my cars from them! read more

8/28/12 I think the previous poster who mentioned Mike "McDonald" may have meant Mike "McDonnell." I had a similar poor experience with him as our used-car salesperson, right down to the fumes in the tank when we started the car for a test drive (he grudgingly drove with us across the street and put in $4 worth--one gallon). In all, I interacted with him three times in one day. Each time he was either outwardly bored with our looking at the vehicle and asking questions, or brusque and dismissive to the point of rudeness. I observed him dealing with two other customers while we were there. He was condescending and abrupt with both the female customer and the young man. We did buy the car we wanted from him because we wanted it, but we left feeling deflated and slightly angry by his attitude rather than pleased about the gift we were about to give our daughter. I have no quarrel with the dealership. All other salespeople seemed pleasant enough, and the finance manager was very friendly and helpful. If we ever go back, we would choose another salesperson and RUN from Mike McDonnell. read more

WORST Sales man EVER!!! I called to see what time they were opened until and to make sure the vehicle was still there. I was told by Al they were open until 5pm and yes it was still there. I got there at 3:45pm and was greeted by the rudest sales person, Al, same person I spoke to on the phone earlier to be informed they were closing at 4pm. I asked him why he told me a different time earlier and he told me it must have been an operator....it wasnt because I wrote his name down with the information about the car when I called and I was going to give my sale to him. I explained that we just drove 1.5 hrs down and asked to be shown the vehicle and was told I could go park my car over where it was before they lock the gates but I had to come back tomorrow for a test drive. I told him I didnt appreciate that considering the 1.5 hr drive and was told by Al if I didnt like it there were other dealerships I could go to, he actually pointed to the chevy dealer down the street...so thats what I am going to do! Sorry not giving people like this my hard earned money!!!! If I could give no stars I would!!! read more

My wife and I purchased a 2007 Ford Edge from Mike Dorian Ford in Clinton Township in April 2011. Our sales representative was not very helpful. Ironically, he was very pushy in trying to make a sale, but not very responsive in helping to resolve issues (i.e. getting a second key, delivering the plates, cleaning the vehicle). The price was attractive, but service and cleanliness of the vehicle were unacceptable. Dealing with this team is a headache...but then again, you get what you pay for. read more

I love the Quick lane service station staff across the street. Five stars for them. That said, I have had two disappointing encounters with the dealership concerning sales and service. I went on their website searching for a new super-duty. I completed all of the information requested for a new vehicle quote and to set an appointment to do a test drive. A day or two later a salesperson called my wife asking about the vehicle I inquired about. I was a little put off because I never gave them my wife's number so why call her? I returned the call anyway because I figured there was a miscommunication. I never got a call after I made contact with another salesperson and explained what was going on. This was resolved by purchasing a vehicle from another dealer approximately 30 miles away when I live 6 miles from Dorian Ford. I figured I should let by-gones be by-gones. So I called the service department at Dorian Ford inquiring about the Fordpass ability to monitor the status and start my vehicle from my phone. I was told that it is only available if I order the vehicle with that option. I found this hard to believe since I did read on the Ford Motor Company website that this device can be installed at a Ford dealer. I rechecked the website and called the Dorian service department again to be sure that they were telling the website is wrong. According to the alleged sales manager and service manager the vehicle must be ordered with the equipment to use the Fordpass options. This too was resolved by going to another dealer and having the needed equipment installed to access my vehicle. Instead of going to Mickey Shorr like the one service rep recommended. read more

Very Very Very bad experience. My wife and I turned in a lease and leased a new Focus, The sales manager and the salesman Matt told us everything we wanted to hear to make the deal go through. Everything they said turned out to not be true. In the end, we received a bill from the bank for $430.00. The sales manager denied everything he previously said and told us that they will never pay the $430.00 bill. I'm not surprised at the garbage business that goes on at Mike Dorian....It's going on at many places. read more

My car was in an accident in February of 2014. They were on the approved list for my insurance. The staff there is very courteous and friendly. My Escape was hit near the back wheel on the driver's side. Although they did a great job with the door and paint the piece that goes around the wheel does not fit proper. It has gaps around it. Also they did not touch up the car on the opposite side as I had asked. This was our first time using Dorian's Collision dept. Since we bought the vehicle there we thought why not use their service dept. Next time I think we'll use another repair place we had good luck with. read more

I've been looking for a vehicle in the $1000-$3000 (economical and within a budget) range and I notice the wide variety of cars listed at $995 at Dorian Ford. Unfortunately every car I asked about had some UNKNOWN major problem with it. I realize a $995 car is a risk, but it really felt like the salesman was trying to talk me out of this vehicle for the sake of an UPSELL! So in a nutshell, either I found a large dealership that has no problem selling an UN-DIAGNOSED yet complete P.O.S. or they only have the cheap cars listed to get you in the door. Sorry, but having dealt with the economy for the last 5 years, I can't tolerate less than straight forward marketing. 1 stars for intolerance of deceit! read more

The people they have running their bodyshop are a joke. Took my truck in after an accident. Just by looking at the damages the truck was a total loss. They wrote an estimate for roughly 9600.00 worth of damage missing another 9000.00 of damage even after I told them several times that they had really dropped the ball. Mike Murfey the bodyshop manager was nowhere in the picture and avoided me for a month. The bodyman and painter did a good job but the management and office staff are subpar and lack professional estimating skills. I would not refer anyone to them. My truck has never been right after they worked on it . THATS WHY IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOTALED YOU IDIOTS. This bodyshop used to be the best in the city, now it ranks with MAACO. read more

I purchased my last two cars from Dorion Ford, and have been servicing my cars there during the last 16 years. I have never had any previous problems until recently when they moved their new service shop across the street. I had the "The Works service package" done on my 2011 Taurus. Two weeks later my car stalled-out on the side of the freeway, and had to have it towed to a trusted car repair shop. As it turns out the Dorion Ford mechanic removed my air filter for inspection and forgot to put it back into the the housing it came out of ( the housing was even left open). This caused the MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR to go bad on my car, The total cost for the new sensor, filter, labor and towing came to $378.00. I called and informed them what had happened, and the service manager offered me $100.00 toward future service. What about the other $278.00 that came out of my pocket?? Plus I sensed an attitude that they thought I was pulling a con job on them. I went to my car salesman who had told me to see him if I ever had problems and he was totally useless. If this is how Dorion Ford values long time loyal customers , so be it - they will never get my patronage again. read more

NOT HAPPY WITH THE SEVICE DEPT, Brought my 2010 Fusion in for the fuel tank crack warranty check and a steering system check as my wife had the steering fail on here way home recently and had to drive it the rest of the way home with no steering assist , a potential accident maker. The next day the steering worked as it works electrically and something got reset. In preperation on taking the car in we were advised to bring the car in with no more than a half tank of gas , so the family took the car on a day trip a hour away and back and had no problems .The day after that the car went in for service and upon picking it up the Service Manager said the warranty Fuel tank work was done but the steering rack needs replacing and there was no recall on it but there is on the 2011 model and advised me there was a bent rim ,said huh? as Being a former state certified mechanic I would know if i was driving a car with a bent rim or not , To make a long story short had to pay $110 to get the car back sign a waiver that the power steering was not working , (even Though It steers just fine )There are huge safety concerns with this car not knowing when the steering will go out again (even noticed a class action lawsuit going on for the same steering issues ) Now the wife does'nt want to drive the car anywhere .DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND TAKE YOUR VEHICLE SOMEWHERE ELSE read more

The only thing unwarranted is the treatment I received from your dealership. I bought a 2002 Jeep Wrangler. I was told it was inspected and there were not any major repairs needed. It did need tires and brakes...which to me is regular maintenance on a vehicle. What I did not expect was a transmission and head gasket replacememts within one week of purchasing an " inspected" vehicle". When I called Carolyn Dorian she was quick to dismiss my issues and not even offer any help except to say these vehicles do not get inspected and I shouldnt expect quality for 2000.00. Then why did they have the car to sell to people like me? What I expect from a DEALERSHIP IS QUALITY! I also have 2 new vehicles from her dealership, which when repurchasing will not be from Dorian. Most of us work hard for our money and I am no exception. I bought from her dealership because I thought it was reputable and the vehicles were quality. She should take responsibility for what has occured ONE WEEK AFTER PURCHASE.....costing me 2500.00 That is just wrong. She has the resources to make this right....she OWNS the dealership..which she could have offered to do the repairs at a discounted price...helping me somehow....but no that didnt even come up. read more

My boyfriend and I recently visited this dealership looking to buy a car that day. We were working with Mike McDonnell. We got there, took it for a test drive, loved it, told we would have about 3% interest, and decided to buy it. It was 6pm which is closing time so we were rushed out of there and told to come back the next day. Well the next day, we tried to negotiate pricing after searching the internet and finding some better deals...Mike did not want to negotiate at all and made us feel like we were bothering him for asking. I'm sorry, but you are a USED car dealer, that is part of the job description. He then proceeded to tell us we would definitely not be in the 3% interest rate, which yesterday he clearly said we would be. Then my boyfriend realized he left his license in the car we took for a test drive yesterday and asked to look for it in the car, Mike said he checked and nothing was in there. My boyfriend then had decided to leave and not work with Mike. He had later come back to the dealership to look for his license again and couldn't get anyone to help him. Mike ignored him, and even his co-workers said, "Mike is just going to ignore you". Finally when he found someone to give him the keys to look, his license was in there. We ended up going to Crest Ford on Van Dyke, worked with Chris McPeek, had a great experience, and drove a car home that day. This isn't even the whole story, but the point is to stay far far away from Mike McDonnell. He only has his best interest in mind and doesn't want to work with anyone. I would NEVER want him to make commission off of anything I buy. read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! I drove over 4 hrs on 4/28/12 to purchase a light blue Ford Flex that I found on the internet. I pulled into parking lot 45 min before closing time due to road construction. I had cash in hand and was ready to drive this vehicle home. Obviously they thought that because I made the trip that my sale was a sure thing, 1st: The vehicle was dirty inside with spills and dirt that had not been cleaned up. 2: The sales staff were rude and ready to get on with their Saturday night plans. 3: The pictures were misleading and taken so that damage to vehicle was not as noticible.....It was very noticeable in person. When I pointed out damage and wanted to negotiate a lesser price, our salesman refused my offer and just walked away with out even making an attempt to negotiate. Salesman and Used Car Sales Mgr are the spot on stereotype of used car salesman, If you want mind games.... then this is the place you should buy. Needless to say, I made the long drive home with out a new vehicle. I emailed the Dorians after my bad experience and have yet to hear from them. Keep up the good work Dorian. LOL read more

I bought a 2013 Ford Focus with less than 20,000 miles. When we arrived to look at the car the sales person (Mike McDonnell) was down right rude. He handed me the keys and plate to test drive and said "you know we close in 45 minutes right?". He seemed uninterested in talking about the vehicle at all. Luckily for Dorian Ford I had been looking for a Focus with similar options for a few months and I decided to purchase the car. I had to return the following Monday to sign the papers etc. This time around Mr. McDonnell was a bit more enthusiastic... until I finished signing the papers. It seemed he decided that once the papers were signed he could go about trying to sell cars to other customers while we waited at his desk. After I waited and another couple waited for about 45 minutes to be helped after signing the papers he finally got back with the paying costumers. Not to mention that there were about 5 other salesman sitting at their desks twiddling there thumbs. I was extremely relieved when I was finally able to leave the dealership. Following purchase I realized that the vehicle did not include floor mats and was missing the radio antenna mast. (Stupid on my part for not noticing the missing mats, I know.) The dealership did not seem interested in helping to get these missing accessories/parts. Don't expect to be treated well if you are planning on buying a car from this dealership. McDonnell personifies all of the used car salesman stereotypes. Avoid if at all possible. read more

Traded in a 2011 F150 Lariat Ecoboost at the end of November 2013 for a used 2008 Explorer cause I wanted to cut my payments in half. Sold me a warranty for $2000 and acted like it covered everything in drivetrain when purchased. Took it for a test drive and felt like something was wrong in trans and it was misfiring around 50 mph. Told the salesman when I came back. He said he couldn t get it to do it..of course lol. Anyway he said if I had problems bring it back. So the day I drove it home..I live an hour away....it was misfiring like crazy. Took it back the next day and he took the car while I went back to work. Of course they couldn t get it to do it again. I have plenty of experience working on cars so I knew it was a plug or coil pack. Anyhow, they told me to bring it back if it did it again. So now 2 months later and only two payments made it s driving HORRIBLE, misfiring like crazy and shifting like #$%$! I bring it in and they say they ll look at it. Come to find out that $2000 warranty they sold me COVERS NOTHING! So they put me in a rental for almost a week and tell me what I have been saying since I first test drove it.....the plugs need to be changed and the coils.....$950 plus they inform me the plugs will break off in the block for this motor and could be another $80 a cylinder!?!?!?!?! WHAT???? Of course the warranty doesn t cover it and the used car manager says I ve had it for too long and will not cover it!!!!!! So they say the ball joints were bad and charge me almost $400 to change them and for diagnostics to do nothing lol. Then the trans issue, a computer update, can t be done until the misfires are fixed and will be another $100 deductible cause the warranty deductible only covers one visit..lol..go figure. Anyhow long story short, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER THING FROM DORIAN, EVEN PARTS!!! WHAT A BUNCH OF CROOKS!!!!! Did all the work myself for $250 over the weekend and took 2 hours. Looks like I ll be buying my new Mustang from Imlay City Ford! read more
