I went to Cox and Sean inspected my vehicle and told me exactly how they were going to fix the 2 dings and blend the paint. The color is a Tri Coat Pearl White and Sean said it takes more work and time and therefor it would be about $800 to fix correctly. I agreed and we scheduled a day for me to drop it off.
7/13/2020 - I dropped of the car to start the repairs
7/16/2020 - I received a call that my car was ready. When I arrive Sean comes out (it was raining and Sean brought a towel which was great). He wipes down the door to show me the repairs and immediately notice the smaller ding in the door was not fixed. It was just painted over. Obviously I say that this in not acceptable and Sean agrees and we head inside. Sean gets the paint tech or body tech (I believe) and they are out there looking at it. Another person comes out as well. (Jeff I believe). Sean comes in and says, "Well, here is what we can do.. we can knock $100 off and you can take the car as is or you can bring it back on Monday and we can fix it". He mentioned they will have to repaint the entire door to blend it properly and it will take a couple of days. Disappointed I agree to bring the car back.
7/20/2020 - I drop the car off
7/21/2020 - I receive a call that the car is ready. I arrive and the car is in the parking lot. As soon as I pull up next to it I can see the ding is NOT fixed correctly. I walk in and Sean asks "How does it look?" I say, NOT good and he immediately gets up and goes into the back and Jeff comes out to ask me what the problem is. I tell him the did not fix the problem I brought the car back in for. We walk out to the car and I point it out (It really is clear as day that they did not fix it correctly) and Jeff goes on with "Well, we would have had to repaint the whole door in order to get that out. We removed the ding and all that is left is a paint chip". I explain, loudly, that it isn't my problem what they have to do in order to fix their original mistake. I paid to fix the car correctly and it was not fixed correctly. He again tells me that they would of had to remove all the trim and blend into the fender and the rear door in order to fix it correctly. At this point I am done with Jeff and I head back in to talk to Sean. Jeff follows me in and tries to tell me that they fixed what was on the estimate and actually acts like he is looking for the estimate. I tell Jeff that "I am sick and tired of you trying to fuck me" you did not fix what I paid to have fixed! I took my car keys and left with the car. I told Jeff he needs to stop trying to screw his customers with his bullshit excuses.
When I got home I sent an email address to the owner Ron Cox.
7/22/2020 - Ron calls me and says that he would like to repaint my entire door. I asked him why the job was not done right the first time or the second time. He gives me some bullshit that they didn't see it the first time and that the second time he approved them to call the "no paint dent puller" to fix it. And tells me that "we were going to have to repaint the whole door......" He honestly gave me the same bullshit answer that Jeff did. I told him that Jeff had treated me like shit with his excuses and Ron said, "Well, you were in here swearing"... which I was and had every right to. I tell him I want to take the car elsewhere and I think he should pay for it. Obviously he does not agree to that and says "think about it you want us to fix it or not and let me know".
I honestly did not want to take it back to them but I didn't think I had any other options.
7/27/2020 - I drop it off for the 3rd time. Sean says that he will make sure it is done correctly.
7/28/2020 - Sean texts me and tells me the car will not be ready
7/29/2020 - I call around 3:30 and Sean tells me it is done, but there is still a flaw where they had dirt in the paint. I ask to talk with Ron and ask him "What needs to happen so I can get my car out of there?" He tells me it is a very small flaw if that is OK with me". I took my car as is.
Feel free to dispute any of this Ron. read more
