As a female, I was nervous to go to a car repair place but this place I've got to say I like the vibe. Straight forward, they didn't make me feel uncomfortable at all! I would recommend them. Called and was asked what time I'll be there, I arrived was greeted and car was checked in. Had something poked into my tire and they fixed it with no problem. Cost $33 to fix. Here's my experience. A+ on finding the fix and repairing the vehicle. They were busy but got me in a week later. Don't bring your own oil for them to change...they'll refuse. Even though I did bring it under the impression they would do it anyway. They did their own oil change with who knows what oil and filter and left the oil and filter I brought in the trunk. I'll have to return the 10 quarts and filter I bought now because I can't use it in any of my other 5 cars. That wasn't my expectation I would have rather gone down the road 500 feet and had the oil done with what I wanted in my car. So communication could be better. I wouldn't not recommend but I'm likely to not return. read more

My friend Barbara used this shop. Had a great experience prior with Bill. That is why she went back. Now Gregg is running the shop. After her experience I would NEVER RECOMMEND to anyone. After paying $800. to fix everything. Check engine light still on. After all that Gregg told it was the HVAC hose. Gregg said wait until it get's worse to fix. What kind of crap is that? How would she know if it gets worse? Why didn't they just fix the hvac hose to start with? Then had air bag light come on. A sensor and module needed to be replaced. Gregg convinced her to also replace seat belt tensioner. Saying light wouldn't go off until that was also fixed. Wrong as the slack in the seat belt had been like that for some time. Total cost over $1800. Belt tensioner alone was over $500. Who does this obviously Gregg. Maybe he works on commision? read more

Had a brake problem that the dealer charged me $300 plus to fix one wheel. When the overheating problem occurred in another wheel I called Independence and the owner, Bill, set up a time and within a few hours, not only fixed the wheel that was overheating, worked on the others to prevent the problem, spent time explaining what he did, and charged me a little over $100 (along with fixing a tail light and new wiper blades). It was my first experience with Independence, but not my last. read more

I took my VW for a throttle body sensor issue that I explained to him I had the same exact issue last year and the VW dealership fixed it for $500 and told the guy I was looking for a cheaper shop and he said no problem. The shop calls me 3 hours later and told me it would be $50-$250 out the door so I told him great. He calls me an hour later and tells me its now $1,050 remind you the dealership cost $500! He than says the DIAGNOSTIC fee is $250 for running censor codes! DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE. I am very disappointed in this place I was just looking for a cheaper alternative than the dealership and ended up paying up the nose just to get my car back with no work done at all. Came here looking for a honest shop and had been worked for them running sensor codes and my car still needs to be fixed. After crying and begging to the guy I cant afford the $250 and get my car fixed somewhere else he lowered it to $110 for the diagnostic fee. You be the judge. read more

I had replaced my brakes myself but had a bolt come off on the caliper (didn't know it until they looked at it). They replaced the bolt for a very reasonable cost (almost nothing) and did it super fast too. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I would highly recommend them for any repairs. read more
