For me, trusting a mechanic is like trusting a dentist - it is critical and am usually very suspicious (I dont even trust dealership work easily). But I was pleasantly surprised with Damian. The first time, we went to get the headlamps replaced and Damian told us not to bother as everything was ok with the existing ones. The second time, we had a tire replacement from Costco which they messed up by cross threading the lug nuts. Damian explained clearly what the problem was and what the plan to fix it will be. Thankfully, it wasn't as serious as I feared it to be. Yet again, he didn't charge me anything even-though he could have easily, since I am not any expert in fixing cars. I appreciate his honesty and the dedication to doing a great and perfect job. As my dad always told me growing up - be honest and perfect in your work and all good things follow. I've been to Damian's a few times but the last time was exemplary. My escape had to be towed over later in the evening because the brakes decided working wasn't a thing and I had to quickly find a rental so I could go to work. Needless to say, I was stressed. When he realized it was after the time the rental company would pick anyone up he personally drove me to their store. The next day while it was being fixed he not only diagnosed and solved the problem (busted hose) he noticed similar wear in the other side and called to let me know and fixed that too. His turn around time is fast, and the work was exceptional. This is an auto shop that cares about their customers and does quality work. Had a wonderful experience here today! I called for an appointment just two days ago and he definitely exceeded my expectations with having everything done today. With this being my first car, only a year having it, and never having to deal with any maintenance, I wasn't really sure about what my car needed and what the right choices were, but Damian couldn't have been better to work with. He explained everything my car needed, why it needed it, how much it would cost, what alternative routes would be, etc., while also not forcing me into anything and keeping my costs down. I found the shop through the Yelp reviews and I have not been disappointed.They are simply the best at customer service and letting you know exactly what is going on with your vehicle. The pricing is outstanding. Go ahead, get other quotes, it is smart on your part to do so, but I have always come back to Damian's. I think you will, too. Also, they warranty their work, but I've never had to take them up on that, because THEY DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME! I did the same thing as others did, I decided to go to Damian's to have my car serviced after reading Yelp reviews. I didn't know these people from Adam, but I have to say that I fully trust them and they did not disappoint. They decided not charge me because my car just needed a minor adjustment. They admitted that this may not completely fix the issue but they wanted to take a wait and see approach before they had to perform a costly fix. I so appreciate that! They had a ton of work orders on the counter when I walked in and thought that they will never get to my car. Within 2 hours they called me and explained EVERYTHING in detail. In addition, to having my AC inspected and Freon added I was given important information on how to keep my car's interior the coolest during the warmest summer days by activating its internal air circulation setting. I admit, before I started taking my cars to Damian, I used to delay having even the most simple service repairs done. I always felt ripped off by any mechanic, oil change shop, or dealership I went to. (especially the dealerships). This is not the case with Damain. Damian is honest and up front with you. He doesn't try to "add on" things to hike up the price. He is knowledgeable and experienced. He gets things done! Most importantly, he doesn't treat you like a "stupid girl" when it comes to automobiles. I have been a loyal customer for years and would never even think of going anywhere else. Just signed up for a yelp account and decided to leave reviews for all my favorite places. So...an honest mechanic, who knew there was such a thing?? I've been going to Damian for going on 15 years. There have been times I've taken my cars to other shops (because they were closer to home/work, I only needed minor work done, etc.), but I've often been disappointed or felt that the other shops were shady. Now, Damian's is the only place I go...and he does almost everything. Just did brakes on my late model Escalade and also on my 70 Challenger (which only Damian touches). And if your car has a problem that no one else can figure out, take it to Damian...swear to God, this has happened several times and Damian always figures it out, he's a friggin' genius. 9 months ago, my office was relocated to just a mile away from Damian. Since then, I've referred at least 4 co-workers to him and they always thank me for the same reasons. Aside from being a great guy, Damian does quality work and he's reasonable. Not once have I or anyone I know had to take a car back to him because he didn't fix something correctly. There are a few things you need in life: good friends, a good job and a good mechanic. If I can find the latter, I can forgive myself for not focusing on the first two. Damian is a great mechanic. I have been taking my cars to him for years. He is the only person I trust nowadays, after several failed fixes at other places, including "reputable" dealers. I drive from Milford to Troy because I know he is not going to mess things up. It is a long drive, but it is worth it for the peace of mind, knowing that I am not going to get ripped off by some crooked A-hole or dealership. I will say, I know I am not the only one of his customers to make a long drive for a trustworthy mechanic. About the only things I don't do here are recall issues (there have not been many) and oil changes, mainly because I don't want to bother the guy with cheap, little things. Went here because of all the amazing reviews and I was not disappointed. Fast and honest service. Was quoted $475 for a job and was charged $408 because "it didn't take us as long as we thought", that is honest service. When I picked up my wife's car I dropped mine off and again was very satisfied with the service and price. Damian was clear about what had to be fixed vs. what could wait which is good info for anyone on a budget, even with the cost for repairs are very good. Called for a quote on a service my dealer said I needed. Called Damian's due to good reviews and the close proximity they are to the dealer my vehicle was at. I was hesitant at calling independent mechanics due to the negative perception about them generally. He let me know about the common issue my Jeep was experiencing and they have to get that part from the dealer anyway so no real cost savings in coming to therm. That was before I had even told him my quote from the dealer. He estimated exactly what they were charging and recommended I try to work down the price on a computer re-flash that was also needed with them. He could do that for about half the price of the dealer, but it was nominal to the overall cost of the other parts and labor that he said it's just easier for the dealer to do it while the other work was being done. read more

I recently moved to the Michigan area, and needed to buy a car. Since I bought a used vehicle, I wanted to give myself the peace of mind in knowing the car was checked out by a mechanic. Since I was new to the area, I decided to check Yelp for a reputable mechanic near me - with that I found Damian. This is honestly the first experience that I have had with a mechanic (I have never owned a car before now), but I am happy that my first experience was so pleasant. I had him look over the car prior to purchasing, and he later told me all the things that were "wrong" with it. He has done a number of maintenance work to my car - including changing the transmission and brake pads etc). I have since brought it to him for many trivial things (I don't know very much about cars, so I freak out over the smallest things) - I once even didn't close the gas cap properly which made my check engine light come on (Damian was able to walk me through it easily of course). He does seem like a really genuine guy, and I am glad I found him. read more

very nice place. spacious, free WiFi, and very welcoming environment. went there to fix a front clunk noise and they replaced sway bar links and the car was very quiet ($200, very expensive for a small part). had air bag light on and they turned it off and didn't charge for that service. another time I went for an alignment. after 20 minutes they came and said I don't need an alignment and they didn't charge me for their time. was very nice. read more

I heard about Damian's Auto Repair through Play Play-Place for Autistic Children several months ago and thought that next time we needed to take one of our cars in for repairs we would give this place a shot because of their fantastic reviews. I have to say that we had the BEST repair experience ever at an auto shop. His customer service is second to none. He explained what was going on, they thoroughly went through the car, prioritized the items he found and broke down the costs. I was even more impressed when they called the next day to let us know that they were on schedule for the car to be ready when they said it would be instead of me having to call and ask when it would be ready. My understanding is he doesn't advertise but gets his business from referrals. All I can say is he's a socially conscious, customer oriented business man who actually puts the customer first.
